Birding in the Overberg. Mid-winter in the Wheatfields

The Overberg receives winter rain and I had a very successful outing around the Klipdale area 2 days before the Winter Solstice. I started before sunrise from he Riviersonderend side. Some birds are starting to breed and the others are gearing up for it. The next few weeks in the wheatfields should be very fruitful. I was pleased to have good views of 3 of our 4 cisticolas and hope during the season to connect with Cloud Cisticola again
