Fergus found a strong woman who speaks her mind like his mother :)
BOTH of his mothers. Jenny spent more time raising him than Claire did.
@@MeyaRoseGirl Yes Marsali is also like Jenny, but Jenny isn’t his mother she is his aunt. Jenny raised Fergus in her house all those years as family but didn’t treat him like her son but rather her nephew who worked there. Claire is the only woman who has ever been his mother. He was vulnerable with her in a way he never was with anyone else, always hiding his fears and acting strong and manly even when he was hurting with everyone else. He was Jamie’s rock after Colloden and had to be strong for both of them and wasn’t even allowed to feel his own grief about losing his mother. He helped hold things together as a Fraser man at Lallybroch when Jamie was unable to, and then when he was away. He was protective of Jenny and the Murrys as family, but not parents. He only shared his true feelings, fears, and traumas with Claire from childhood and through adulthood too. The Fraser women are all strong, but Claire is his mother.
I think it’s so important that Jamie gave Fergus his name now vs when he was a child. He has always been their son but now it’s safe to do so officially since Jamie isn’t a wanted Jacobite anymore. Had Fergus officially had the Fraser name while they were hunting Jamie, he would have been in danger due to known association like Ian being taken several times because he is his brother in law.

The name he has had since they met him. It took them all (Fergus/ Claire and Jamie) long enough to figure it out. Hah Yep, I was a mess the first time.
This scene still makes me a mess, Jamie and Clare's Family grew more and more
