    In Battlefront's own words:
    "Combat Mission Shock Force 2 finally updates the ground breaking Shock Force 1 game setting to the current Game Engine 4 environment. Due to massive changes over the last 10 years of Combat Mission development the updating and upgrading of the original content to current standards was no small task. Most of the 3D models had to be rebuilt, reskinned, and reintegrated into brand new TO&E coding. All original scenarios and campaign games had to be checked out, tweaked, and generally improved so they retained the balance and excitement of the originals. Fans of the original game will find that this is much, much more than a new coat of paint."
    "Take command of US Stryker Brigade Combat Teams (SBCT) and Heavy Brigade Combat Teams (HBCT) to fight against Syrian Army Infantry, Mechanized and Armored units in an arid setting. Experience the full range of modern threats to conventional military forces, including irregular combat forces, terrorists, spies, suicide bombers, IED's and other deadly tools employed in the asymmetric warfare of the modern day. Play the Task Force Thunder campaign, more than a dozen carefully crafted battles, or unlimited Quick Battles."

      Or imagine. syrian volkssturm who can blend in with the "Volk" and ambush enemies. Vs An actual huge war strike force like in the US campaign.

    Uncon forces in the game are exceptionally well armed and organized. CM: Afghanistan depicted much wider quality of armament among irregular troops ie: old bolt action rifles and such left over from British Raj. In CM:SF they're uniformly AKs, a bit optimistic after what we've seen actually being recovered in a lot of the sandbox.

    I am actually in my first ever multiplayer game as unconventionals several tips I will give
    spy can use long range visual communication to communicate with the rest of there unit and verbal to communicate with units around them.
    also you can have units with beater optics attached such as at-14 with the weapon's built in night vision
    Segway mortars are for immediate suppression for 1-2 turns using direct fire. managed to inflict at least 6 casualties with the mortar alone. also after depleting they all have ak's so there basically 3 man rifle team
    also highly recommend taking every unit as fanatical and the leaders as 1 man, elite, and +2 really helps with communications. also I make spies elite and have a lot of them 6 groups.
    also don't take IEDs unless you have a plan for it. I have none in my current game.

    Usually Hapless what do you think the future of the combat mission series is and what do you think the next game will be?
    Personally I think the next combat mission game should about the Korea war but here’s what I think should be a feature in this CM game should be the ability to play ether in 1952 or in a fictional 2nd Korean War set in the most modern of times.
    I think that should be the next combat mission game should do this because it fills the role of a conflict after WW2 and a modern war game.

    • @usuallyhapless9481
      @usuallyhapless9481  4 роки тому +2

      Oooh tough one. I think Battlefront have enough on their plate with rounding out their existing games for now: Fortress Italy will get its last module soon(tm), then there's a module for Red Thunder that will take the Soviets to Berlin in '45. Final Blitzkrieg should have Commonwealth and end-of-war modules, plus Black Sea has several potential modules on the cards (USMC, Russian Airborne, Russian Marines, other NATO forces etc).
      Outside of that, I think 1950s Korea is actually a pretty good contender, though I'd guess accurate ToE for the North Koreans and Chinese would be difficult to nail down. A lot of the weapons and equipment for both sides were WW2 vintage, so already 'exist' for Battlefront to use. Balancing gameplay (and performance!) might be difficult when one side has tanks + heavy artillery and the other has human waves; the later. I'm not sure that a future, hypothetical Korean War '2' would be much different from CMSF except in the terrain (also, given Battlefront's uncanny ability to make games about conflicts that haven't happened yet, I'm not sure its a good idea!)
      I think some other good contenders are WW2 North Africa, Operation Unthinkable (Western Allies and Soviets go to war in 1945), Early WW2, Invasion of Manchuria would be interesting but probably too niche to be a realistic financial option, FULDA GAP (of course), Arab-Israeli wars... the difficult part for a tiny independent company like Battlefront is picking a subject that will sell with absolute certainty.
      Wow, that's practically an essay. Would make a good video actually.

    • @usuallyhapless9481
      @usuallyhapless9481  5 років тому +3

      Yes and yes, but its a little more complex. The difference between the modern formations and the WW2 ones is that the modern ones are generally more interesting because they have a wider variety of units and more integrated combined arms. A US infantry battalion, for example, is almost entirely infantry (surprise surprise). The WW2 titles also involve considerably time spans: a German Grenadier Battalion in Sicily in 1943 is not the same as a German Grenadier in Italy, Normandy or the Eastern Front in 1944, or Western Europe in late '44-'45. Definitely doable though, I just need to get round to it.
