@@bomberobus Absolutely, I love it. If I want to put Webers on it, I'd have to buy something like this so the length and height are correct. Happy to know this product exists!
thanks for the video, great tip on the jam nuts to screw the stud out.....that was a problem for me to solve and you solved it!!!! CSP set up is the best
No problem, glad it helped. I have 5k miles on the CSP setup and It’s been flawless with no adjustments so far. I used to have to “tune” the hex bar linkage all the time. Some say the push-pull of the bellcrank style is rougher on the throttle shaft and seal, but time will tell. So far so good
Thank you for posting this! I have a hex bar set up and would like something cleaner. This is really helpful! And I dig how you used fender beading as a plug wire holder! Awesome idea!
My pleasure! So far so good on the CSP bellcrank, need more time and miles to know for sure, but it does have a clean look. You have a sharp eye to catch that fender bead hahaha
@@bomberobus Wait till you see my rail buggy. It's coming home this weekend and I've got a ton of stuff I'm going to do to it. I ordered one of those linkage kits. The empi linkage is ugly and wasted motion.
Just thought i mention this bellcrank linkage will not fit the aluminum autolena aftermarket case 😢,i found out the hard way , no mention on csp website
Bummer! I can see how they might not fit, but yeah CSP should clearly identify that. I’ll put it out there on a vid some day. Thanks for sharing the info so we can try to help others
Excellent video Mike. I'm finally making the plunge into switching to this type of linkage. It seems like there were some fitment issues though. I wonder how it compares to the vintage speed one? The VS one is about $50 more with shipping, but I for sure need to switch because my linkage doesn't work smooth and doesn't return very well.
I’d guess that the VS is better quality. This one isn’t bad for sure, but I always assume VS is top notch everything. I guess the only caveat to this style linkage is that some say the “give” that’s in the hex bar linkage is less abusive to the carburetor throttle shaft and seal. I can say I’ve ran that linkage for about 3000 normal miles, and 1500 hard ones. So far so good.
Yes it’s the Redline Weber rebuild kit, sold by “impart731” on eBay. The ICT gear fits perfectly into the EPC carbs. It’s the one that comes packaged IN A BOX. Currently $38 and some change.
Does your fan rub on your fan shroud at all. Im running the same setup and my fan is hitting on my fan shroud. What fan hub are you running does that make a difference?
Yes when I switched to this style shroud, I had to use a different fan hub. I had to use the recessed face fan hub that is for generators and not the flat face hub that is for alternators. It still holds the alternator though. Also, through the years it seems that the thickness of the fans themselves changed. You could need a different fan altogether, but it’s worth seeing if you can just shim it properly first. They sell the fan shims at any almost aircooled VW supply place.
3k miles and it’s still in good shape. I don’t think any of the designs (except synclync) are great for the dual carbs, but so far the bellcrank “push-pull” style has been best for me. 3k miles isn’t quite the test of time yet but so far so good.
Actually the csp is NOT good. I am from belgium near Germany and know the guys at csp and am in touch with some dyno tester guys who test all their products. Finally after two year csp recognize that the alignment of the throttle cable is of. And the geometry is just wrong. The new 2022 model will be selling by March and all the leftover bad linkages are send out to the United States and Brazil. Yours is an old version and you can see by standing directly in front of the crank that the throttle cable attachment is not in center with the fan shroud cable hole. It can't be adjusted with the angle bolt. So sorry to say, but its not the best choice. Best ones currently are those from vintage speed taiwan and FJAS. Just want to mention this to aware people. Csp makes high quality products and is a really great company. Even this throttle crank is from top quality and will work fine, but changes are been made and had been made guys.
Thank you for this comment, as I like the channel to be informative. I was a bit concerned when I read “the csp is NOT good.” However, after reading your entire message, I understand that you do think its good, but has an alignment flaw, which it minimally does. That alignment flaw pales in comparison to the many hex bar issues. So hopefully you’re right about the CSP being “top quality” and that it will “work fine.” If it doesn’t, then I’ll call them out. Gonna need more time with it but so far so good. The really concerning bit is where you wrote that they’ll be sending “leftover bad linkages” to the U.S.A and Brazil even after correcting the alignment issue. So thank you for the heads up!
Funny that my '86 Brazilian bug came stock with an almost identical linkage. Factory dual alcohol carbs.
I didn’t know that. Good thing for you though. I still think it’s a great set up, compared to previous ones I’ve used anyway

CSP is the route I am going as well, much cleaner and less “busy” IMO.
Thanks for the vid.
Good Luck
Yes it looks better AND made the throttle a bit more crisp. I think you’ll be pleased with it.
I love that setup. I'm going to get one. This looks so much cleaner than what I have.
Looks cleaner for sure! Holding up good but only been 4 months. I saw your sync vid that was a cool experiment, and I like your trike!
