I managed to do all 10 trials with a few characters but I had to grind a lot. Not sure it was worth it since I never did any of those long combos in a real match.
Honestly, combos trials aren't that bad. People can learn to play piano or guitar or whatever, you can learn combos in training mode. The hard part is actually using those combos in a match... that's really a struggle.

combo difficulty has nothing to do with casuals getting into fighting games... see how unsuccessful auto combos are? casuals will never understand the basics of neutral game / frame data w/o proper tutorials. those matter most. these difficult combos dont do any thing for your ability to really win if you can't land that first hit against a solid player.

I second this. I was the lucky guy to pick Ash by chance when I first bought this game and had little to no fighting game experience up until that point. Figured out I'd look at the trials to see how to do combos on the character and I was presented with that. I could barely do charge specials properly by that point (Beginner after all) and I had to learn that. Big F.
trials are usually stuff you arent really supposed to do cause theyre not viable in an actual match, instead they show stuff you CAN do so you learn more about each characters mechanics and overall game mechanics
Most of these are just to show you how to chain moves to together and get your combo execution to a fairly decent level. Don't get me wrong, some of these _ARE_ viable tourney combos, but most are not...but god help you if you come across someone who practiced these combos until they can get it on the first try every try, you're in for a TOD ass whupping if they get a single opening.
KOFXIII was a hard enough game that we rarely saw "optimized" combos at all in tournaments. Everyone just stuck to the easier/more consistent characters and basic combos, and pros still dropped those a lot. I always appreciated these trials for showing "what was possible" more than most.
@@aliasmcdoe yeah you'll rarely see pro player's do these in actual competitive match's, if ever. You can do much more with less, these are meant to be flashy
if you play these games regularly you can do the HD combos very consistently. Alot of them are very rhythm based rather than connecting 1 frame links together. Charge trials on the other hand though are completely LOL. They require some muscle memmory that isnt commonly used. Lots of old sagat motions.

KoF trials are a nightmare. Here in town we have an executioner master, he can do reflies with Sentinel and crap. But Ash's trials he couldn't finish them all.

The game is really tight, which has it own fun when you climb that execution hill and get over it. That said, it really tight... KOF as a series tend to not allow a whole lot of room for error (till recently) so fights can get tense the closer you get the the wire. I will be honest, I not sure how well that holds up in this age than back in the day. Still a blast to play, but yeah...
I mean its no different in difficulty from 2d fighter players trying to get accustomed to how to utulize the analog stick to its fullest potential, since its one of the few fighting games out there that requires that skill set and most 2d and 3d players are accustomed to digital movement.

Seeing someone with this much executional skill still struggle with these kinds of trials is... kind of reassuring about my own ability. bro i've literally started trying to do KOFXIII trials last week. i picked up a Hitbox last year summer and wanted to improve my execution.. I'm stuck on Kyo lv 5 😂, the fingers on my left hand are getting tortured 😭. The amount of inputs for the direction buttons alone had me feeling like i was a hacker trying to get into the Pentagon. 😂
Go Justin Go!!! KoF is incredibly complex. While i was playin mvc2 in the arcade. KoF 99 was right next to all of us. Seriously, there were pros doin complex combos. I liked watching, but could not hang. Clark and ralph combos were a lot of fun to see. Have fun on your journey... warrior.
