I watched this with my brother, who doesn't even play fighting games since Street Fighter 2 on snes. He sat down and sat through almost the entire match. That's how big the finals for KoF was. Well deserved hype.
One of the best finals, extremely entertaining and high quality play, also great scene at the end with the team celebrating together. Definitely did the fighting game community proud!

I remember watching a clip of Bala’s comeback on Xplay when I was a kid. Had the casters’ recation stuck in the back of my head since. Can’t believe I’ve finally found it!
I tuned in expecting to only watch the UMvC3 finals and AE2012, but this match had me captivated more than any other. Continuous back and forth, outstanding play on both sides, and one of the most insane comebacks of the night at 36:15 ! This MADE EVO for me this year.
This was amazing play by both Bala and MadKOF. Both deserve massive props for providing us with this blast of a final. Also, the commentators were badass.

Bala is just so in his own head at that point - MadKoF had been mentally beating him into the ground up until then. Bala looking totally emotionless - the juxtaposition of the wild crowd behind him gets me every time.
I read several comments that Bala took every different characters and MadKOF used same characters during whole final. If you look Bala's table from winner's final seriously, you people notice that Bala tried to keep Billi, Takuma and Xhen. However, Billi got beaten by MadKOF's DuoLon so Bala just tried to find Billi's substitute. Bala did need to find out the way to kick out MadKOF's DuoLon and Chin. MadKOF didn't need to change because his DuoLon and Chin fought well with the Bala's masterpiece. You people don't have to give any big meaning on changing character. Also nobody thought Chin is great character before this final. After EVO 12, gamers notice potential of Chin. So Reynald used Chin on EVO13. MadKOF is the guy who use rare character. He used King on EVO 13.
Such a great grand final. I was really looking forward to the runback at Season's Beatings this year, but since that didn't happen I'm hoping it'll happen during next Evo's grand finals.

Damn i see alot of hateful comments about both especially on Bala but heres this Bala mastered every character now he can pick anyone and stull kick anyones ass madkof has stuck with the same characters even til now he only plays with about 6 characters out of like 30 thats why madkof couldnt even win evo 2013 or 2014 cuz his style of play is always the same and before someone tells me oh bala didnt even go to evo 2013 or 2014 well because its fuckin hard for a mexican to get a visa because immigration laws and shit are way more tougher on mexicans than any other race thats why dont get me wrong they are both great players im a fan of madkofs Goro but dont hate on bala for being a god of a kof player

Most pro players only play roughly 6 characters or even less in tournaments, even the top 8 of Evo 2013 and 2014 so there's nothing wrong with only knowing 6 characters as obviously you don't need to be able to play every character. The fact Mad Kof is constantly switching his team and let's not forget made top 4 in all 3 Evos prove he knows his stuff and is not as linear as you think. Most of the hype of this match was because of Bala's skills. MAD Kof is really good, but really... that Clark was in for the kill! I hope Bala gets the time and sponsors to bring more epic battles to EVO.

In random pick surely he can beat everyone but in games where you pick the character where you are best at then yeah he will have a bit of a problem like how we are watching it now. Still he is a very good player and yeah I do like to master Ralf the way Bala does.
This match was the reason why there's more Duo Lons and Chin in the first place they were rare in both tournament and casual level Bala used other characters in hopes that he can use their kit to handle Duo Lon and Chin. If you want to watch games with more diversity in characters though watch international tournaments sad to say this but tournament wise in the USA they are more concerned in winning so they use these characters just because they are easy to use and have more options with their move sets.

ain't a problem on picking the same characters. Bala goes on picking different ones and gets beaten in the ass.
+nelio nascimento I see that too, Bala is great at all characters but not the best. In random pick surely he can beat everyone but in games where you pick the character where you are best at then yeah he will have a bit of a problem like how we are watching it now. Still he is a very good player and yeah I do like to master Ralf the way Bala does.

This match was the reason why there's more Duo Lons and Chin in the first place they were rare in both tournament and casual level Bala used other characters in hopes that he can use their kit to handle Duo Lon and Chin. If you want to watch games with more diversity in characters though watch international tournaments sad to say this but tournament wise in the USA they are more concerned in winning so they use these characters just because they are easy to use and have more options with their move sets.
