PHOBOPHILIC are set to release their debut album, titled Enveloping Absurdity, on September 16 via the Los Angeles heavy metal label. The Fargo, North Dakota based death metal group’s first full-length sees the four-piece ruminate on philosophical absurdism, existentialism and human consciousness against a backdrop of suffocatingly minacious death metal.
Drawing from French writers Albert Camus and Jean-Paul Sartre as well as Germany’s Fredrich Nietzche’s strains of philosophical thought, Enveloping Absurdity is a meticulous vivisection of the philosophical self and purpose, as it asks fundamental questions of life’s true meaning.

Came here and listen because of Nick from Thralls of Metal. 🤘
Me too, and I’m loving it.
Same here
Jamming Jon had it in his top ten
Yup, top man Nick, this is good stuff.
Always check out Nicks recommendations. 🤘
When you start to listen to this band you can not stop ! "Everything is perfect" ! Really GREAT ! Top musicians !
very very tasty burger full of nasty gurgling and a delicious bass tone.
this burger needs to be consumed in the depths of the 16yr old me cave.
great stuff.
cheers from germany
i feel meshuggah in this bass tone
One of 2022s best OSDM albums with nice doom touches. I’ll like hearing more from these guys + nice Blood Incantation vibes
The sound is exceptionnaly dense and sweet at the same time.
Each instrument works perfectly with each other, voice is top notch for me (agressive, atmospheric dut not "ear-exhausting") and the production is mastered.
Half of what you wrote made no sense and could apply to a lot of Death Metal, you’re trying to sound smart but you’re not saying anything. This band is recycled Demilich at best, getting a ton of hype, but it’s quite bland. I’m still going to give them a them a chance but they have 0 originality.
Love the guitar tone 🤘
Seen you guys' last night Ripped it up Thank You ... Portland Oregon 💯💥🤘🤘
This reminds me Incantation a lot, vocally and guitar tones/riffs speaking. Very dark album, absolutely loving it!
Great death metal, needs more views
Prosthetic records absolutely nailed it in 2022. This is my album of the year. Closely followed by molder and undeath. Awsome.
poser
Phrenelith, Cruciamentum, Spectral Voice, Triumvir Foul all have newer stuff that surpasses undeath and molder imo
Great!!! I'm a Technical Death Metal person, but I enjoy regular Death Metal and it's other variants and Dsbm to.
Individuation 19:50 suivi de Illusion of self 22:36 , très beau
Awesome the band logo and the album art is made by two Finnish people Proud of my fellow Finns!!!
20 seconds in and I already know this is going to fucking rock. Also, Phobophilic is a damn good name.
i love this funky shit!
Wow it is soo good! Why it has only 4k viewers?!
\mm/ brutaaal love it \mm/ how deathmetal should be now days.
I’m a massive demilich fan so these guys are the shit for me as far as newer dm bands go lol, one of the band members was wearing a stargazer shirt in a band photo and I just had to check em out.
Saw em in some guys basement at a house show in northeast Minneapolis and they blew the roof off the place lol, killer shit
Phenomenal debut album by potential new comer death metal band.
Fucking love this album.
Excellent Old School Death Metal Band...
Awesome buddies
Great work
I am looking forward to see you this week in Spain with Ossuary in your European Tour... Best Wishes and (if) God bless...
Saw these dudes in Miami @Gramps a few months ago. IT WAS RAD! Bought a shirt too. COME BACK SOON!
🎯🖤Thanks😎
Siiiiiiick
🤘yesss!!!
Very Good
Come sweet death. From the darkness into the darkness. Infinite self bathes in the blackness of all-encompassing nothingness.
🤘💀🤘
🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
DRUMSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hEAVY AS HELL
It's iight
real death metal. .
What tuning do they use
I think it is b standard or a seven string
This is pretty good! I think Escarnium's latest outpaces this as the best album of this year's "Catching up to Immolation" acts, but this still absolutely dick slaps much of the competition!
i fuckin love this album its basically like a finnish death metal band but from america lol
👁️
sounds as if Tomb Mold decided to incorporate Immolation or Gorguts elements into their sound
Yo nice pfp there
FUCKING SICK! 🤘

Anyone else thinks this awesome part sounds like a scene from Diablo 1/2 Soundtrack?
In domine Satanas. Great album.
just another example of excellent production/aesthetic not being enough to compensate for extremely mediocre, basic riffs
They’re borrowing a lot from the old Finnish scene, I hear some Demilich here, but for some reason it still sounds uninteresting, recycled and unmemorable to me. You hear it a few times and you can’t remember it later. It’s not a bad album though.
I dont know what u guys are about. I can sing most of the riffs in my head after 2-3 listens. And if these riffs are medioce i dont know what is classic osdm riffs are. (By the way i love classic osdm, but it doesnt change the fact that generally they are simpler and soundalike any other osdm song )
@@omerutku8164 They're Demilich copycats, they're even copying the songs structures at points. But Demilich is like an original artwork and these guys like a photocopy of it. They're like Thulcandra straight up recycling Dissection, you hear it so clearly yet they're still not the same and boring. Good musicians, but unoriginal af, same with these guys. It's all part of the current trend of just copying the old style with 90's aesthetics, I'm not saying they're bad but I don't get the hype.
@@DeathSpellXVISure, there's nothing unique with them but they riff hard. Good riffs, good music, and would probably be really fun live.
Just listen to the live version, i think it sounds better
Wow bad ass album 👍😎
Who else here thinks slayers seasons in the abyss is the heaviest metal album of all time ?
