The point he said “if you’re on two wheels you’re part of the family” I subscribed cause a lot of people bag on us with small bikes.
Welcome to the fam
I agree. I love my Virago 250. I'm thinking to make it look like this SCR950, only a few mods needed to make it a SCR250 scrambler.
I'm liking the retro look of the bike. Nice vid man.
+Broncoride Thanks Brotha. I just wish it was closer to the old TT 500. I loved that bike.
Great review!
that 'fuel injection module' is the airbox, but okay. Nice video man!
Thanks
i love the new vintage bikes. nice.
+HANG10HONDA love the look, I just wish they put a different motor in it.
Has the looks and you're not wrong, being a Yamaha V-Twin it'll be riden for years.
+Phat Cruiser Yeah buddy. Thanks 👊✊👌
Good video man. Good attitude!!!!
Thanks
I can get a 20117 SCR950 still new in the showroom for 4487.00. Gonna take a look at it this weekend. Thanks for the video.
Damn that's a steal
Did you buy it?
Yamaha can't give them away in the UK either....a 'project bike' as i call it....cheap machine to turn into something else, especially when the XV950 Bolt is twice the price...so,if you want to build a Bobber or a Flat Tracker, there's your starting point!
nice first ride Mtn 👍
not my type of bike but like you said, each to their own
+MorriSiege Exactly bro, 2 wheels is fam.
Thanks Shiny Side Up 👊✊👌
I love this cool machine. The air cleaner is the First thing to go!
+thomas grim I miss the TT500, This is the closest thing to that legend.
Agreed, the air cleaner has to go. Thanks for watching and if you have time go watch Fortnine's review of it. He does an incredible job.
I actually watched that review and was immensely entertained. I really liked both, thanks! This machine is just a great formula for what I like.It has clean styling that is fresh and different. It has a grunts enough engine that will perform great on country roads and around town. The ergot are open and the seat although not the most comfy, allows for sliding back...
+thomas grim Wow, thanks! Fortnine is my favorite reviewer ATM. His style is cool.
Nice retro look man! Like you said though, 300 dollars more will get you a Fz09. Then again, you might be saving that money by keeping it stock. I think it's all personally preference really. Reliability is nice though. Great first ride/review 👌
+Lucky Luke Rides Thanks brotha. Yeah to each their own. Would I get this over an 09? No, nu-uh, not a chance. But some may, and they'll be smiling.
Shiny Side Up Brotha!
👊✊👌
Cool bike 👍
+Vegas Gurl Thanks Gurl
I changed from a 2014 MT09 to the SCR950. Seatposition iscbit better for me and a lote more stable ride. The 3 Cylindar Block of the MT09/FZ09 has a few problems when the milage is more then 25000. Bad warm start behaviour. Non stable continous drive behaviour and also the base itself. The sound of the v2 is heavy and its a fun o drive. there are lots of personal factors for a bike. i have more fun with the SRC
Me and a buddy were at the dealer the other day and were just talking about this bike. I agree with the cluster. It's rather tiny and hard to notice. Most bike's clusters I've rode are super easy to notice. I'm assuming it's back lit as well?
+Josh AFJ I didn't see if it was backlit. I'm assuming it is.
I would hope so haha
I bought it am totally satisfied 👍🏼😎
Congrats brotha
how much you pay?
woulda been nice to see you take a corner on this bike. I heard it scrapes early.
Honest review. Picked up a used '14 Bolt just before the snow started here. 3 things I would change. Replace the air cleaner & box with something smaller (mine came with a V&H already installed). Bigger fuel tank, the range is okay, but it's no KLR. Analog display, even just for the speedo, because current display horribly hard to see/read at almost every angle. Hopefully as Yamaha puts more of these on the road, more aftermarket parts will be available to fix the last 2.
+Rob Feral yeah, beyond those things I had fun on it. Thanks Rob 👊✊👌
Rob Feral how is the gas cap? It looks cheap.
analog display! yeah what we want is good ol double clocks and nothing else
Nice review. Not a fan of the color would look a lot better in Matt black.
+David Appleton I think there are only a couple color options. Matte black is the latest rage.
I realize this video was published in 2017 but I enjoyed the content and I like your style.
I agree it is a very basic bike with absolutely no bells and whistles other than the led tail/brake light and indicators however, if you like that v-twin sound and the lower end torque, this is an awesome bike. My question to you would be what would you suggest for luggage/panniers, do you know if any luggage items would crossover from the bolt in terms of installation?
I appreciate the kind words. Unfortunately I can't help with any accessories for the bike.
There’s a brand new 2017 model for $3,000, should I get it since I don’t have a bike? Great video
Wow! That seems like an incredible deal. Any bike is better than no bike
MtnMoto I like retro and wasn’t sure if it was a good deal, I really like Yamaha coming from dirt. Thank you for answering back I subbed
What city are you in... looks like possibly Salt Lake, City. No I am not a stalker, I just thought the town looked really clean.
Littleton, CO
@@MtnMoto Nice!
yeah I would take the fz09
+CM MOTO Ditto bro! Ditto
But 2 wheels is 2 wheels.
scramblers are standards, so you were rigth =)
Who would've guessed it 😂?
👍🏼
He don't Kno about bikes !!
Oh no, no traction control or antilock brakes. The new riders want their bikes to do everything for them instead of learning how to actually ride a bike and not depend on added options to save their ass when in a panic situation. All the new crap is just adding problems at one time or another.
Even with those added safety features it's important for every Rider to practice and develop their emergency instincts.
IMO, abs, traction control and engine maps only aid in a beginner riders ability to survive.
Fuel injection module? It's the air filter housing.
What Icon jacket are you wearing?
+flashdrz That one is the Icon Overlord 2. It's a very comfy jacket that's great for medium to hot days. It doesn't flow as much sir as my Klim Induction Mesh jacket but I like it allot.
What gloves are you wearing , they look very comfortable.
Those are the emperor's new gloves. Surprisingly they aren't nearly as comfortable as my Fives, or at least I didn't feel as comfortable 😂
Do you even know what bike it is?
It's a nice bike, unfortunatly only has 55bhp
+Master Rider Like most air cooled v twins is all in the torque.
I have a friend who has a Kawasaki W800 and he misses the power. He only has 48bhp.
+Master Rider Power is addictive. I have to google that bike, I'm not familiar with it.
+Master Rider The W800 is a cool looking bike. I like it, shame about the lack of power tho.
Yeah, I tottaly agree with you. It's a very nice looking bike, but with only 48bhp... It misses something
It isn't a scrambler chassis it's a bolt chassis with a raised frame. I'd recommend you to do a bit more research before making the video.(Don't mean to be rude though)
Speedometer is horrible. Should have been mechanical. Also, I cannot believe that it does not have a lighted LCD so you can see the freaking thing! No fuel guage??? Crazy
Don't shift up or down without using the clutch!😠 It's a brand new bike, and you're already trying to break it?😞
That's a common misconception about motorcycle transmissions. Clutchless shifting doesn't damage a sequential gearbox. It has to do with the way the gears are aligned in the case. As long as you don't "force" the gearbox and remember to release (up shifts) or blip (downshifts)the throttle the gears will slip into place with no damage.
Thanks for watching tho and leaving a comment.
MtnMoto ...I think you are the one with the misconception.Constant mesh doe's not mean go ahead and shift without a clutch.Owners manual might have something to say about this.I am an older rider ,I think I know about shifting. If you don't believe me ,ask around. Please don't reply to this as I don't feel like arguing.
I understand not wanting to argue so this reply is for anyone else.
Quickshifters operate by cutting the throttle for an extremely short period of time, thus releasing the binding pressure on the engaged gear and allowing the transmission to slip easily into the next gear. New "auto blipper" quickshifters reverse this by opening the throttle for an extremely short time on deceleration again releasing the binding force and allowing the transmission to slip into a lower gear.
My brand spanking new Tuono Factory comes with a factory installed Auto blipper quickshifter and many other bikes are including this as either a factory supported option, or standard equipment.
Clutchless shifting has proven itself as a non damaging technique over decades of racing on all levels and surfaces.
great to look at...but a real pig in the weight dept. That pig dog would weigh almost 600 lbs all gassed and ready to go with like 2 inches of suspension....no off road for this scrambler??? That is absolutely pathetic for Yamaha to release this....."thing"...to the public. No wonder there are so many still sitting in the showrooms almost 2 years later.
I wasn't impressed. It has its place, that place just isn't anywhere near my garage 😂
Shiny Side Up👊✊👌
Stop talking and ride that bike
