    Thank you! This actually works!
Today I had a interview using these four key points building a short story for myself. The RM got emotional & hired me on the spot with a grate starting salary. I recommend everyone to watch this video!

I hope this can ease some ones mind who searched for the same content as myself, “how to pass a job interview with a criminal record. I am here to tell you that it can happen. I was in the last stage with government / policing for civilian position. They asked if I had any involvement with the police and I disclosed and was honest about my refusal from years ago. I think it’s not what they find, it’s them choosing whether to use what they find against you. Just be honest, speak from the heart, show your remorse and how it’s changed your life. We’re all human at the end of the day. 🥰

Hi Harley! I recently interviewed for the Marketing Specialist position with your company. It was a great opportunity to gain confidence in telling my story organically and honestly. This is video is spot on!!! Showing HOW I’ve changed and directly owning my mistakes helped me finally land a position. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Great video!

Man, it's been like 7 years since I had a job. I have a felony armed robbery from 2006 and did 3 yrs in prison. It's been so hard explaining my record but when I get the job I'm held to a different standard than other employees. Basically when I was still on parole and working, that was held over my head. I got fired shortly after I completed parole over something I was forced to do by my supervisor and got injured. I smoked a joint the day I was discharged from parole so I pissed positive for thc after the accident at work. This company had options for ppl who failed urine tests and ppl worked there after testing positive for cocaine, opioids, etc. So I figured I was good since I was one of the best workers, my parole was over, was injured because my supervisor refused to buy the proper equipment and forced me to wear chemical boots with no steel toe because my steel toe boots weren't chemical resistant. Before my piss test came back I talked to my supervisor and said I'd fail for thc. He knew I just had a baby and my life was coming together and if I was fired I'd lose everything. He said everything was cool and explained the process of employees failing drug tests. I had a LOT to lose over something he caused. Next thing I knew the owner called me in along with my sup. and flat out said I'm fired. Looked at my supervisor like wtf man?!? All he says is he's sorry and to use him as a reference. I asked about the drug counseling etc and they both start talking about me being a safety hazard blah blah blah and they can't have that. So I went home and broke the news to my wife and my life spiraled down hill from there. Every job I applied for either never called me or said the references I put down won't call them or answer. After a year of being turned down job after job I started losing hope. My wife said it'd be best if I focused on our daughter while she was working. So I raised my daughter while my wife was working. She left me and our daughter for one of her coworkers and left us high and dry while our daughter was 2 and me not working. Long story short, we got back together and a couple years later had another baby. To this day I can't get a job. Trying to explain my record and now my work history looks and sounds bad. Idk what to do anymore.

Really hope things are better for you now. That's really, really tough. A lot of people wouldn't survive that. I'd look at where there's work and try moving to there. It would probably take a major upheaval for you but together you need to figure out a way forward. Whatever the situation, you can only do your best. Life isn't fair.

I don't really think it is necessary to volunteer your criminal record if the employer does not bring it up.

Fair point but in today's world the employer will find out directly or indirectly via Google. Better to put it out there sooner on your terms.

In some situations where a background check is conducted it’s not up to the hiring manager.. it would have to be disputed with the company higher up

I got hired at a dental office, no where on the app did they ask (I am always honest) no where on the new hire paper work did they ask. I go in later in the day when I get a chance to and speak to HR to advise them, they asked me to please leave & they called me the next day to say I'm no longer employed. =( Super bummed. I'm resilient and determined, I know something will work out. I sure wish you offered your course, I'd love to take it.

I have a fraudulent assault record. I repelled the attack of 3 punks who tried to murder me with pepper spray. They lied to the police who took their word for what happened over mine. I told the cops what they did but the stupid pigs took the punks word over mine. Now i can't get a job. My attorney got the charge transferred to a Veteran's Court because I'm a veteran.
The judge assigned me to a PTSD Divergent program. It's been nearly a year and the judge said She'll drop the charge March. Will this clear the files in the pig department and the local court? If nit what can I do to get the files destroyed? Thanks.

What if there's no cause for something to be on your background, like the judge didn't care what my argument was there was no civil cause for the conviction?
