Look sir I hear you...I'll say this the criminal record is not a good thing and nowadays it's easy to get a felony...I have a felony from 20 years ago by law in Massachusetts the employer can only go back 7 or 10 years and it should not be there and I'm a person whom had a seriously bad first marriage and with a lying cheating wife involving another man who came out of my bathroom and confronted me physically...my poor choices then in that situation dont define me who I am now... We need new better laws than what was offered years ago to men and women like me. It's easy to get domestic violence nowadays he said she said.. records should be kept but after certain time the employer should not see it by law when it goes back 15-20 or even 30 years..that's a long time ago..take my situation and I'm sure their are many out there... I look at it this way if enough time passed by and nothing has shown since I was 15-20 -25-30 years ago. Don't u think by keeping punishing these people over and over for stuff in their past is that not cruel enough? How do we move forward with society when we block people who want to work or get a chance at it...tell me one person who hasn't made mistakes or if put in a severe enough situation if they would react well? I feel like it's a privacy issue that discriminates us felons or people with misdemeanors..really does I'm the employee who puts in a few hours or more over just to get the job done. As opposed to other fellow employees who say heck now I'm not working 5 minutes unless I'm paid..u see that's the difference between me and them because I'm glad or even more great full to have Job or better to have a job than no job.. taking a employee who is a good fit shouldn't always involve police report if your going to be a mechanic or carpenter or grocery warehouse worker. Law enforcement in my opinion don't hire the best..look at the clowns in the Massachusetts state police who stole overtime and robbed money to enrichment in their pay..and those are the best people? Makes u wonder right? Who does that and u expect fairness in a police report ? Or u get issued a ticket when it was made up just for their quota to justify their stealing if overtime? They are making $50 an hour standard pay if they work overtime it's $75. Most of then we're making 20,000 a year more one of the few top earners made over $200,000 because of overtime...and what they receive for punishment? These guys without their high respected jobs would be working in lawn care.. in my opinion it's all a chance see..your hiring for my work ethic and skills not what happened 20 or 30 years ago..it's discrimination and privacy issue.. Many say I paid for my punishment for my poor choice and regrets..there is such a thing as a persons dignity..,..I think reports are over used and people nowadays are way too judgemental because of Facebook and other such places.. I personally don't use such online sites to get attention or get praise from others brings out the weirdness in people to get others to approve and like you I don't know it's dumb.. Hiring convicted or people who want a job and you already give them that 90 day probation period like everybody else..so given that. I'm surprised gone this far that a law amendment hasn't been made to stop this nonsense.. even company owners, true story I got hired I was excited they I find out they lied to me and i saw after 2 weeks that I myself made a mistake in taking and in leaving my old job.. what a bad feeling that was and I have a wife and son to support at home...maybe the company owner not realize that u shouldn't mess with peoples time. Easy for him he owns the place.. typical sometimes of company who hide their name from public view when putting a help wanted ad. That's why we have Glassdoor online to review or leave a review about companies..i know what I wrote here is long but the states need to give relief to people and not punish them forever and that's what it is...its not the right thing to do....thanks
M A I understand I am I. The same boat. I am a student in college and I make all A’s but no one knows my story. I am too afraid it will keep me from entering a program. We have to give this God and stay strong. Gods will over powers mans.
thats not true. they liked me enough to hire me. I had 2 gross misdemeanors and three misdemeanors three years ago. I never had s felony and that is all they checked for not misdemeanors. all eas okay. i mentioned it and manager said not to worry.
I've been unemployed for almost 6 months now and have had numerous interviews and unfortunately I do have a criminal history. I can tell you from experience that even though they say "thank you for your honesty" they clearly don't give a rats ass. How are people supposed to move on in life if never given the chance to do so??????

Really?1 Thats great news as I have 3 misdemeanors looking for a decent job. I am in the process of expunging my record.
My cousins got hired at Kroger he had a misdemeanor from Walmart years 2 years ago
