I've been around a long time. I don't particularly care for the way today's stands hook up to the tree when compared to the older style that accommodates the strap at a higher location enabling a solid connection to the tree that seems to me to be easier. All you have to do is lock on to the tree with the platform upright and then simply push the platform down to a firm connection. It is just easier to handle for me. Thanks for the comparison.

How tall are you ?
My guess is XOP will eventually discontinue the Retrograde because that thing is STUPID small.
It is pretty small, but Saddle guys may use it. I prefer the Elevate, but for a nasty walk in with 3 or 4 sticks, I like it.
