I really appreciate that you get right to the point. No music intro. No unnecessary BS. No long-winded explanations of the obvious. Great video. Thanks.
Thank you good man! I told my dad we could probably 90 degree it to get the big roller in the track but he wouldn't listen until I pulled the proof out here. Cheers!
This is a fantastic video. I had no idea how to remove my 1966 vent or window. Your video is clear, to the point, and well done. Thank you for this great video!
Great video. Instead of the rubber tape to hold the glass in the channel I used windshield urethane. I also pinch the channel so it doesn't catch on the new wiper whiskers.
I did my door seals yesterday and now after watching your well done video I finish the rest of it. Job well done, thank you for taking the time, I would buy you a beer if I ever met you.
This video is better than most c10 instructions because it is most like my 67 G10 van. I see you got a totally new vent window Assy. Don’t think it’s available for the van so I am fighting to reseal it. Pita. Your explanation of the sequence will help on reassembly. My main window fell out of the track, that’s what got me started in the first place.
Thanks so much for this video. I am preparing to do my '66 and had no idea how to actually remove the vent after removing the panel. Your video was so helpful and precise. Thanks a bunch
Very good video and really nice truck. It is nice not to have music playing in the background 😁really nice truck you did a nice job restoring it and just subscribed to your channel I have a c10 1 ton dump truck ive been working on that was my dads I'm replacing the window rollers its aggravating working in such a close space you got to have patience and I can see you have plenty My dad always told me when you mess with glass go easy especially if it's old glass And your calm voice you remind me of him
Thank you so much for this helpful video. My passenger-side window got cracked and I was worried that if I don’t remove it properly it would shatter and create a mess. Thanks to you I was able to remove the small folding window easily, which I had no idea was removable, then had more than enough space to remove the actual window without any problems. Again, thank you for the video! (Note: I only watched the first 2 minutes and 30 seconds, as I was able to find what I wanted quickly!)
Thank you for the video. After watching your video, I was able to go right outside and replace the vent window in my 65 C10! Also, your comment on Classic Industries led me to find the felts I have been looking for!
Thanks so much. I'm in the middle of re-doing a 64 and this video i'm sure just saved me a lot of headaches! I appreciate people like you taking the time to video your projects and post them. Thanks
Super useful video. Thank you very much. My daughter's window came out of its rear track on the driver's door, and I'm trying to figure out how to get it back together.
Hey Bombero42, I’ve got a roll of the Chevy 3/64 window setters tape. Your background looks like you might live close to me in Southern California. If you’d like some for another project, let me know. I’ve got enough for two lifetimes and your welcome to a few feet as a gift for taking the time to make a quality vid for newbies to Chevy truck restoration. Just send me a message through UA-cam and I’ll be happy to hook you up. Take care. Tony in North Orange County.
Good pointers. Thanks Did not see you inspect passenger window regulator rollers that guide the mechanism. My 66 has 2 that are rusted pretty good. Replacements are available $4. Got to drill out old ones. Cheaper than new regulator which is about $60.
Do Not Ever let the door glass slip and fall to the bottom of the door body. The window roller frame Will dent the outside of your freshly painted door causing you to cry and cuss alot.
My 65 chevy G10 van windows wint stay in the track down inside the door. Afraid to take it apart more than I did. Seeing how no one makes spare parts for these. I had to have a windshield and side window cut and it was not cheap.
Nice job , just helped me get these in on my ‘64. Having trouble rolling up window, bottom channel holding glass is hitting the door sweeps. What brand did you use? I used Precision because I thought they were the best.
Really clear. Thanks for the video. I notice you have shoulder harnesses in your truck. Source? I've seen a few sources on line, but I'm wondering where you got yours and whether you're happy with them.
It was at least 15 years ago so I don't remember for sure, but it was probably the same company I used for my Studebaker belts. www.gemstreetrods.com/Products.htm By now they probably have different belts. On this truck I had to get a reinforcing plate up behind for the swivel attachment bolt. used 3/16 steel about 3" by 6". On the back of that I welded on a nut of the same thread that the belt hardware used. Then I lightly welded on about an 18" piece of welding rod to the bottom of the plate. This is to sneak the plate up there between the sheet metal inner panel and the outer body. As you tighten the bolt the plate will turn and lodge against the outer body skin. Then you can twist off the welding rod. On mistake I made was to leave a sharp corner on the steel plate and it made a ding on the rear outer body skin of the cab as I tightened the bolt.

I did this to my 65 c20 just the way you did, I took my time and it wasn't too difficult. My next job will be the windshield gasket. Good video.
Enjoyed every bit of installation...very well done...Thank You

I used Brother's. Try a little inspection light like I used and see if you can see exactly where it is hitting. Do it in a dark garage to see better.
nice job :-) where you get the outer windowseal/felt with the holes for the rear top corner? what company? thx for answer.

Correction to the title. It's 64 to 66 models.
Is it possible to replace the window regulator without removing the vent frame?
