- My window on the passenger side of Ol' Green was worn to the point it wouldn't go up and down without help. In this video, I show how to replace the window regulator mechanism.
Here is a link to the part I used to fix mine. amzn.to/2DHWbNv
My man I was staring at this truck window for an hour like where do I start. Your video was perfect couldn’t have done it without you thanks brother
Glad I could help!
Hey man! I was doing this job, did a quick youtube search and found your video easily. It was very helpful and I got it done much quicker than I otherwise would have. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Luke, you did a very good job showing me how to do this. You are a very good teacher and you go slow enough and cover everything. Many thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Man that's the best thing I learned all day, grinding a bolt into making it a flathead
Thanks!
Man that Bed side tool box is super cool man! Good job on the window, I always hated it when somebody would slam my door and the channel locks would fall off.
Thanks 👍 lol I know exactly what you are talking about.
I've done this on similar vehicles in the past, and never once had as easy of a time doing it as you do in this video, lol. I learned some of the best cuss words in my vocabulary changing these out. The "modern" ones with the plastic tracks that get brittle and break are slightly easier, but these days I'd be willing to just take it to a mechanic. For those who want to give it a try, just remember to not lose any hardware before you end up taking it to the shop.
Yeah I've changed the one in the Buick, which is power Windows but was a real pain to get to. This one wasn't bad at all.
Thank you for your time sir
Man this video was extremely helpful. I'd replaced the vent window previously which is half the headache in this job, but I would've been hard pressed to figure out the window rail channels without your video. Wish I'd seen this video prior to my previous vent window install, would've saved me a couple hours, lots of profanity and one felt strip LOL. Many thanks!
Glad it helped you!
I was blown away man by the fact you turned the inside rear panel into a tool storage thing. I have my 70 my pops left me and I currently don’t know what one doing but I’m learning as I go man, thanks for the video. Hopefully by today my windows will work lol
Yes, it is nice to be able to use the window cranks again. Learning as you go is the way I figured out how to work on this truck.
Excellent video - very appreciative, could not have done this job without this video and Don w Brothers Trucks thank you sir!
Glad to help
Followed this video to replace my drivers side window regulator crank thingy and it went smoother than i was expecting. Other than 52 year old screws and glass, everything did exactly as you said. Thanks for this!
Glad it helped you.
You made this job so much easier for me. Thank you
Glad to hear that!
Thx for this video. Ordered my regulator and feel confident to tackle the task
Hope it goes well. It makes it much nicer especially on the passengers side.
Nice to have that window winding up and down again. Interesting to watch the steps to fix it. 👍
It sure is. We were driving around the other day and it suddenly started pouring rain. I had to stop and help put the window up, we were soaked by the time we had it up. Now it works great.
Fantastic DIY video. I found this extremely helpful in fixing my 1972 C10
Glad it helped.
I enjoyed watching and found the bed-side tool box interesting. Scribed and liked. Maybe it’s just me after decades of earning my pay check from opening my tools boxes, I use anti-seize on bolts & screws, it helps the next time fending off rust, if that’s possible. But, may grease would help your wheels of plastic last longer smeared into the tracks. This truck must of carried a passenger frequently to wear the regular in the center area. Strange, but with no A/C on most, the drive could roll the window down for extra air. The wing window works better above 30 MPH. Lol. Thanks for the time, work, equipment used to make the video. Man that's gonna be so much better now Luke. Amazing job. Have a great day.
It is a lot better. Nice to be able to roll it up and down with one hand.
you prolly dont give a shit but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend these days :)
@Armani Ibrahim Yup, have been using InstaFlixxer for since december myself =)
@Armani Ibrahim definitely, I have been using InstaFlixxer for months myself :)
Good to see Ol' Green again!
The window regulator handle is the same as i had on my '67 Biscayne. Unfortunately, i haven't owned that Biscayne since the fall of '72 when i replaced it with a still on the lot '72 Townsman which i got cheap and loaded. Made my Biscayne seem a very abusive vehicle ::)
Btw, how's Buster doing?
And, more importantly, Luke who i hope is doing ok, getting over his mourning for Daisy.
P.S., what did you do about those teeth?
Yes, they kept the same design for a long time. I guess that saves money on retooling for different handles.
Great work Luke, thanks for the views and tips on how the best way to do this is. Great days and health to you and your family !
Glad you liked it. Thought it might be some good information to share. Thanks for watching.
Probably timely for me as well, drivers window has been goofy since a fellow driver caved it in. Hoping it will be better when I straighten it, but will likely need some adjustments. Gotta ask where and.how much for that ?
I got it on Amazon. I put a link in the description.
Mr Fugate. My older brother rebuilt the old Ferguson tractor that had a blown engine and been set aside for years when he was 14. To pay him for the work Dad bought him the 69 Camaro that was rotting in a flood plan that he wanted. When he turned 16 he had the baddest SS in school to say the least. My wife's grandfather, way before we were married, amazed me one day when he noticed my breaks on my 4wheeler were not working. He took off the pads then shaped, attached the new pad to the old metal back plate and had me on my way in no time. Once a friend bent the back axle of his 87 250r, bent might not even be the word. With a piece of railroad, some log chains ,some jacks and some time grandpa had him home before dark. Poor people have poor ways he would say. I call them Appalachian engineers. Point is I have been fortunate to have had some amazing teachers in my lifetime. You should be proud to know I consider you one
They sound like amazing people. I'm honored to be compared to them.
I always called stuff like that hillbilly engineering, because I have seen some amazing things done by the people living in these hills. I know there is a bad stereotype about us hillbillies, but I'm still proud to be one.
Solid how to! Worked perfectly!
Thanks! Glad it helped!
Thanks for this video -- super helpful. Was able to swap my entire mech in about 1ht.
Great to hear!
Love the older Car / Trucks. Great job on the repair Luke. Liked, shared. All my best.
Thanks. Yeah, they don't make them like they used to. I put a window motor in the Buick a while back and it was a real adventure. This one was easy.
Great video. Thanks for the demonstration.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for video helped me a lot 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey great video! 10/10 will recommend!
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
You earned a subscribe for the time just I just saved, sir. Pops thought it would take me half a day.
Thanks for subscribing! Glad it helped you out.
You just earned my subscription
Thank you!
Thanks. I hope mine goes as easy as yours. Do you have a video on fixing the inside door handle?
I haven't made a video about the handle yet. They are still holding up so far.
Thank you luke for sharing.
Sure thing!
You can lock onto those fathead screws with 6 inch vice grips with good teeth in the jaws and get the screw to turn a little, then its easy with a screwdriver.
Thanks for the tip!
Great video! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching! Hope it was helpful.
How did you make side of the be a tool box?
I have a playlist showing the process.

❓Luke why didn’t you grease the Tracks?
Good point. I did mention it while I was filming but I guess I left it out. I need to pick up some silicone spray lubricant to grease the window tracks. I can do it without taking it back apart though. Thanks for reminding me, I'll add it to the description.
Np...Luke! I still gotta watch ur other video with Zephyr.. I got it in my watch list! By...the way Luke I hope all is well.. I was watching the Zephyr video for a few minutes.. and u seemed a little sad.. keepin’ ya in Prayer 🙏🏼..
Do you still use the pallet cabin...??
I haven't been using it, but my son is fixing it up to live in. He wants his own place and I told him he could use the cabin.
fang. Do you do it on a Lamborghini?
Not sure how to do it in a Lamborghini. Don't think I'll ever have the chance to try that. (wouldn't go up the creek lol)
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
See? Told you! Luke fugate can fix anything!
lol, Thanks.
Would this work for a 72 Chevy c20?
It should. As far as I know they kept it the same from 67-72.
And the parts fit both driver and passenger side?
@@x02dragon you have to get the right and left sides individually. They only fit the side they are made for.
@@lukeFugate noted. Thank you so much
mines called ol' yeller
Good name.
@@lukeFugate had mine for 30 years. Got from my mother in law...she;s getting up there too
