scottydog2871 Cheers for comment,it certainly helps me to keep track, doesn't matter if you miscounted on a target card but don't want to be caught out stalking a bunny with only one pellet and no follow up shot should you need it,,
I have two of these, now I know how easy it is to pull the action from the stock and how to avoid that horrible blast of air without a pellet headed to my target. Thank you.
Hi. I've ground away the little ridge on the magazine rubber band and that made the bolt action so much smoother. Some magazines have four small arrows on the band instead of the ridge. I have removed them too. Great video btw. Thanks.
Jerzy Szczepanski hi.glad the video was useful. I know what you mean about the arrows and the ridge on the band.my original has the arrows and the two I got from eBay have the ridge. I've had my gun over two years now and always have the mags fully loaded but not left in ghe gun . recently I've had pellets pass through because I'm guessing the band has stretched a bit.i fixed this very easily by putting one of those kiddies rubber bands for crafting around and it fine now. They are called loombands here in UK. 👍
@VeikkaRahkonen You need to pull back the bolt and remove the mag if you can, then you may be able to fire the two pellets out,if this fails you can try and push out the pellets with a cleaning rod from the end of the barrel,,if you do this you must do it with the gun on its side or the pellets will go into the action mechanism,
Hi Fukaduk, you're welcome mate,ya spot on with trajectory, was shooting ing spinners at 60 yards with Rm8- 3 mildot holdover, tried it with my .22 BSA and ran out of mildots,,happy hunting,
Hi Fukaduk, glad UK laws don't match Germany, mine is sub 12ft lbs which doesn't require a license,I have always had .22 guns but decided to try .177 for the Rm8,usually limiting myself to my zero at 30yards,but with the .177 I took three rabbits with the aid of my range finder last night,51y-52y and 61y,,I think I've been converted all shot in the fusebox stone dead, really pleased with the Rm8..
The RM 8 is really an excelent gun! made in germany, dont think you can beat the price & quality. as a kid in England I also had .22... but with reduced power here, I opt for the faster traveling .177.....(also the trajectory is less than .22) does the job..thx for the pellet tip.
'lo m8....in your video, regarding fitting the bipod, I think you mention it's already been covered by 'Dean Howard'? Can't seem to find that, any chance of a link? Cheers bud.
Hi Pest sniper, apart from H&N... My RM8 shoots accurate with JSB exact, unfortunately I live in Germany where only 7.5 Joules are legal, about 6 ft lbs.. so rabbits only laugh at the pellets!! :-) Ratting is ok.. as long as head shots are on target at close range (10m). Cheers mate
Just realized, that I was also on my Girlfriends PC, ....therefore Greg, & fukaduk are the same person!! sorry if I confused you? PS.. Liked youre other videos with the ex rabbits :-) Have a lead filled weekend! Greg
Hi, have you had anything to do with the brass air valve leaking? Supposed to be a common fault, mine is leaking from the small hole on the side of the valve, but can't find anything on the web on how to fix or where to get spare parts from, any help appreciated, thank you.
Hi,,I'm not much help I'm afraid, I don't have the gun now but in the two and a half years I had the gun I didn't have any issues other than the gun was over legal limit when I traded it in even though I got it brand new,
@@ratrabbitandpestsniper1826 it's ok thanks, I've found out that it's the regulator seals that have gone, that's why the air leaks from the brass valve, spare parts are a nightmare in the UK and you have to go through a gun shop for them to order you any parts from Bisley, as they are the UK supplier for Umarex.
Hi Greg, glad the mag tip was useful,I have a scorpion in .22 and can now join in the long debate over which is best for hunting,I can honestly say if you put the practice in they are both devastating if you hit em in the fuse box.
Thank you. A good straight forward video. I recently dropped, yes shamefully dropped my .22 RM8 and the stock broke fairly cleanly just behind the safety and just around the trigger guard. So, now I can remove the stock [it's rubberised wood] with a bit more confidence to either repair it, or replace it. I'm trying to source a replacement, or an alternative - I prefer the polymer Varmint stock with the thumb hole design. I don't know if it's do-able. Anyone out there can give me ideas, I'd be well grateful! About the mag: I used a permanent marker to show when it had turned its full 8 rounds ... but useless in the dark, of course. so, great idea abut a "feel-able" notch. Nice one! Noticed comments about ammo below: I recently got some Predator Polymag Shorts - 15.89 grain. Quite heavy I know for speed, but the impact and expansion [the "take down" :) ] is very impressive over 30 metres. Accurate? Yes.
Tom Tomato Hi buddy.glad it's been a help to you.think you are going to have to remove it and go from there.some kind of solvent glue like that used on solvent weld pipes maybe.you could add quality duct tape on the inside as a bit of extra support. You are gonna have to sick it and see I think pal.
Yep. A coupla pins inside, a healthy helping of Araldite and some patience [not something i'm known for]. Gotta salvage this rifle though, you get to know a gun, know the barrel, all its querks and stuff. So! Sunday job is sorted :)
Tom Tomato I'm sure you find it sortable once the action is removed. They are a great rifle for the cash.i use instagram now more but I plan on starting back to uploading some of my shooting on here again shortly👍
hi,,i really don't know to be honest,i have seen inside and there are all sorts of channels and slots.i'm guessing from what i've seen it's milled, but it is a guess,,not much help am I...
Hi Greg, you're welcome ,found a better pellet if you're interested,H&N barracuda match 10.65g,,,less affected by the wind and really accurate, rabbits hate em,,,
That's a very simple idea with the mag, pure genius though. I picked my RM8 up yesterday for ratting and now I'm gonna cut a groove in my mag
Great idea for the mag notch….I also struggle to count to eight 🙄
Good idea about creating your own notch on the mag. Simple but effective.

Thank you.
What to say, matches with the main concept on the mag itself, simple and brilliant : )
@Moor Gary thanks,,it does make a difference
You can use a red sharpie to colour the notch to make it easier to see.
Yes that would work,,,

What do I do when magazine, cocking bolt are jammed and two pellets inside

Edit: Managed to push the pellets out

what a top tip the mag modification is.... Many Thanks foe sharing

Hi Dave, thanks for comment and you are welcome matey..

My rm8 will not come away from the stock it seams stuck 😢
@markoconnor4822 It will come out,if it's the black composite stock they are snug and need a bit more force,
hi om .... have a say the magazine doesn't play ... why huh?

Hi Greg,no worries, got a new rat video to go out soon, hope you like it,,
I do same but just put white dot of white paint on the rubber band around the mag
Yeah paint will work, advantage of the notch is you can feel it in the dark when night shooting,

Hi mate have you done any slight tuning mods to your rm8 the mag mod was really helpful 😜👍🏼
Hi Greg, still under warranty, only thing I would change is a shorter break on the trigger..shoots really well,I use H&N Barracuda match 10.65g.
