I think that Jack Marston was a real person in the GTA universe, who loved reading so much he grew up to be an author and wrote the beloved book series, Red Dead, based on his experiences growing up with the Van Der Linde Gang. I also believe that, much like many similar real life non-fictional western novels, there were some creative liberties such as changes of city names and perhaps identities of certain persons to protect the dignity of his family's name.
I personally don’t think they are in the same universe. The Florida / Leonida name difference could easily be a retcon. The Rocky Mountain animals, well, Rockstar probably kept the name the same as the real life animal to avoid confusion. Madam Nazar being an arcade machine in GTA5 probably wasn’t meant to be taken too seriously, just like how The Last of Us Part II contains references to Uncharted, both being made by Naughty Dog, despite probably not being in the same universe. Lastly, the ai voices just don’t sit right with me, they just make the video feel a bit plastic, which probably wasn’t the intention, but I’d prefer your real voice, or just the text alone if you don’t feel like it
Honestly how I see it, the Florida one from GTA IV could be a simple retcon or Florida could just be a nickname for Leonida. California, New York, all these cities could’ve just been renamed into San Andreas and Liberty City or some explanation

El Rubio's grandfather being German doesn't necessarily prove he's from the same family, although you'd need another explanation for the pictures. But I'm thinking his grandfather being German could instead be a reference to Nazis who fled to South America after WW2. A couple things for the city and state names. You can't really use any material from before GTA IV (like the promo site for GTA III), as those aren't part of the GTA IV and V universe. But mainly, it's a problem of oversights and retcons. GTA IV mentions Florida because Rockstar hadn't come up with Leonida until GTA VI. The state name is basically retconned from Florida to Leonida. As for places mentioned in RDR2, it's basically an oversight or lack of planning. They may have decided late into RDR2's development that it would share a universe with GTA V. Or maybe even after it released. So when it was written it made sense to reference New York, but it wasn't fixed afterward.
Yes. They are the same universe. Francis Sinclair (the time traveling entity with red hair and a birthmark) makes it clear by asking you to find rock carvings. These rock carvings are directly correlated to the "doomsday murals" in GTA V. The Epsilon Program has been around since the beginning of Rockstar time. And that's just one of many references that tie these two worlds together.

Please no AI, it ruins the "Strange" of man, im certain nobody asked for AI, i feel honestly appalled by hearing AI on what makes this channel so good, the strange silence that hides any conception of WHO you are, but yeah
I'm calling it right now, we will get our answer to this debate in GTA 6, and the way it'll be answered... Saint Denis is mentioned whether by word, image, mention on the internet, a flight destination on an airline billboard, or as an actual destination for the player to go to. I also think Blackwater is based on Houston which is the 4th largest U.S. city, so that could possibly be mentioned too, but not to the extent as Saint Denis.
Son, look i like you and i mean no offense, but i thought that your classic style was the absolute best. This voice is good if im falling asleep and don’t want to be reading but the problem is that videos from your channel are videos i like to watch when im well awake since i respect its quality and want to give it my full attention. And I can’t give you my full attention with these voices distracting me, I already have too many of those in my head.
I really hope they throw in a side mission where you meet someone with the last name Marston & they give you like a cool revolver or something. Just an idea. Without a doubt these two universes are together.
I think, considering we get a challenge to kill 50 Npc's in GTA Online with an axe, and then that axe appears at the indian burial ground in RDR2, there are definitely at least links that rockstar did on purpose, and I'm thinking if there are any remnants of unsolved easter eggs in RDR2, it will be something like this, we must do something on GTA, to be able to access or unlock some code in RDR2... I still believe!!
Personally Is prefer the old style. Because it‘s basically YOUR style. I dont know anyone pulling it off this well and it makes the whole athmosphere more mysterious.
*Also too - the end of the GTA 6 trailer when Lucia & Jason kick the door open, there’s a face on the door next to Jason that resembles a bounty target from RDR2 online.*
My head canon is that jack after years of being an outlaw he saw that he doesnt actually want to be this way and decides to write about his adventures as an outlaw and calling the book "Red Dead Redemption" as we see in gta 5 and becomes a writer writting westerns Pretty cool concept for a story for rdr3 as well
the way ive viewed it for a while was that RDR and GTA are separate, however RDR has their events of all GTA games and they played out exactly the same but the only difference being the city and state names. same for GTA, they had their events of RDR play out exactly the same as well
Can we all agree the female voice is super annoying? Actually the voices ,if that's not strange man's voice . Anyway, it still confuses me how there is new York and liberty city at the same time in the same universe, I kinda believe maybe rockstar messed up or idk
I find it odd that the company went to the trouble of adding in so many links to their superb RDR2 game, and then basically gave the fans the middle finger by ignoring it and not fixing all of the bugs in the title, more so in RD Online. If they really wanted gamers to love RDR2, then they would continuously update it just as much as they do with with GTA Online.
it's not because they don't want gamers to love red dead, it's because kids play gta online, and sometimes spend money on shark cards, so gtao is basically free cash, they want cash, they don't care what happens to their fans as long as they get money
@@cringycam2546I mean, why not? As long as we’re just having fun musing about connecting characters. Or maybe he’s descended from Mary-Beth or Karen (no one is going to convince me Karen didn’t pull herself together and eventually become a successful businesswoman, dagnabbjt).

@@Carl_McMelvin As an easter egg or smth
How are the rock carvings related to The Doomsday Heist update? But write down an actual, FACTUAL connection. Speculation is out of the question.
GTA online is non-canon.
@@YaBoiDREXWhat are you talking?! Of course are the Events in GTA Online are Canon in HD Universe!
Its confirmed by Rockstar
I dont know where you get the Idea that are the Events From GTA Online are not canon
Hey ! I've been following you for a very long time now and your channel is one of my favorites. I see what you did with the ai voice etc and it's good, but i just don't think it fits your channel that much. I personally have a preference for the old style and i can see most of the comments agree with that. Amazing video tho !
I don’t like the woman character popping out and her voice. I prefer just the main narrator voice.
00:28 WTF It ruined all the mysterious vibe
There is also another reference to RDR2 in GTA Online. In “the contract” dlc office, there are computers with RDR2 locations on a desktop wallpaper
I didn't mind the male AI voice but the high pitched jarring woman one was not great lol
Keep it up man, always making some great vids me and my bro always enjoy your content, can't wait to see what you do with GTA 6 and beyond ;)
Please no AI, it ruins the "Strange" of man, im certain nobody asked for AI, i feel honestly appalled by hearing AI on what makes this channel so good, the strange silence that hides any conception of WHO you are, but yeah
If they're linked that means the guy wearing a John Marston shop was wearing the GTA universe equivalent of a Jesse James shirt inside a GameStop.
Franklin could be a possible descendant of LENNY
Trevor being related to anyone in RDR series would only make alot of sense as well. 😂
And I just realized Lenny looks just like Franklin like what. 😂
Yea like wow. Ok.
Yeah this new tone isn't working Strange Man, and I'm only 20 seconds in.
I like the voice, it’s relaxing
I'm calling it right now, we will get our answer to this debate in GTA 6, and the way it'll be answered... Saint Denis is mentioned whether by word, image, mention on the internet, a flight destination on an airline billboard, or as an actual destination for the player to go to. I also think Blackwater is based on Houston which is the 4th largest U.S. city, so that could possibly be mentioned too, but not to the extent as Saint Denis.
I really don’t like the AI voice 😂
Son, look i like you and i mean no offense, but i thought that your classic style was the absolute best. This voice is good if im falling asleep and don’t want to be reading but the problem is that videos from your channel are videos i like to watch when im well awake since i respect its quality and want to give it my full attention. And I can’t give you my full attention with these voices distracting me, I already have too many of those in my head.
The narration is nice. But the pop in blondie could go
I really hope they throw in a side mission where you meet someone with the last name Marston & they give you like a cool revolver or something. Just an idea. Without a doubt these two universes are together.
Jack live till like 1980 something I think so jacks son maybe
@@EdwardoNuttbustercould be passed down or in a museum in the city, the navy revolver and hatchet stems from red dead
@@EdwardoNuttbuster jacks son would be 60 or so in the 1980... more like jacks great grandson
@@413. not if 80yr old jack is putting in that work
I think, considering we get a challenge to kill 50 Npc's in GTA Online with an axe, and then that axe appears at the indian burial ground in RDR2, there are definitely at least links that rockstar did on purpose, and I'm thinking if there are any remnants of unsolved easter eggs in RDR2, it will be something like this, we must do something on GTA, to be able to access or unlock some code in RDR2...
I still believe!!
Little feedback on the voice over , mmm not the best . At least for me I prefer the old style , it creates more ambience .
I always like to believe that my online characters are ancestors, like my red dead character is the great great great grandmother of my GTA character
Love love love the addition of voice audio to these. Finally 🎉👌
I remember the axe and the revolver from red dead 2 that you can find in gta online too
What if RDR takes place in L.A Noire universe?
Can the next video be about Dutch cannibal theory, Mr.Strange Man?
???
Im not a fan of that blue pop up girl. Seems so spam like.
Never use those robot voices again
Personally Is prefer the old style. Because it‘s basically YOUR style. I dont know anyone pulling it off this well and it makes the whole athmosphere more mysterious.
I don't mind the ai voice that fits well but the random powerpoint girl that jumps in feels REALLY out of place
*Also too - the end of the GTA 6 trailer when Lucia & Jason kick the door open, there’s a face on the door next to Jason that resembles a bounty target from RDR2 online.*
So California and San Andreas are next to each other, so la noire and gta are connected
My head canon is that jack after years of being an outlaw he saw that he doesnt actually want to be this way and decides to write about his adventures as an outlaw and calling the book "Red Dead Redemption" as we see in gta 5 and becomes a writer writting westerns
Pretty cool concept for a story for rdr3 as well
the way ive viewed it for a while was that RDR and GTA are separate, however RDR has their events of all GTA games and they played out exactly the same but the only difference being the city and state names. same for GTA, they had their events of RDR play out exactly the same as well
That’s an accurate way to think about it
@@dutchvanderplan8639 It was the only answer i could come up with since Rockstar is very weird with the connection between the two.
If Rockstar wants to do something cool, then they should add more content to rdo like fun content.
they won't because gta online = free money from kids buying shark cards, rdo = community happy, gtao = free money, rockstar cares more about the money
This video is really well made and deserves more views
Can we all agree the female voice is super annoying? Actually the voices ,if that's not strange man's voice .
Anyway, it still confuses me how there is new York and liberty city at the same time in the same universe, I kinda believe maybe rockstar messed up or idk
Imagine Jack setting down, meeting a woman. Having a character in GTA 6 who knows what his great grandfathers were would be cool
Leave it to Strange man to make a very convincing argument on them being in the same universe.
Bro i really really really liked the video, wow, keep it up
I find it odd that the company went to the trouble of adding in so many links to their superb RDR2 game, and then basically gave the fans the middle finger by ignoring it and not fixing all of the bugs in the title, more so in RD Online.
I’m totally picturing Tilly being Franklins great great grandmother right now haha
Yes, because if one character is black and another is too, they are absolutely related. Makes sense right?
I dont know if im racist or not, but for me sheriff freeman has almost the same square face as franklin
@@cringycam2546I mean, why not? As long as we’re just having fun musing about connecting characters. Or maybe he’s descended from Mary-Beth or Karen (no one is going to convince me Karen didn’t pull herself together and eventually become a successful businesswoman, dagnabbjt).
@@SPQRKlio I mean I can see what you’re trying to say. And yes I do like to imagine Karen got herself together and ended up successful, but I thought it was more likely (and confirmed) that she drank herself to death after Sean’s decease
Wow you took that to a whole different level than how I meant it…. I just picked 2 characters from both games that I like. It’s kinda funny how if I said Micah was Trevor’s great great grandfather than I wouldn’t have seen a comment like this. I like games and enjoy all the characters from all backgrounds
well this makes a lot of sense, although i admit i overlooked some things in my playthroughs of rdr1/2 and almost every gta game, well done!
I like how he uses the word "Parody of" in GTA and "Inspired by" in RDR2 when talking about map inspirations
The song Lock Load Fire has the same Guitar drum line beat
I thought I read somewhere that all the Rockstar games are connected? Max Payne, Bully and even Manhunt might even be tied to GTA and RDR. Awesome video as always!
Manhunt, Manhunt 2 and Bully are confirmed to be in the same universe as the 3D Universe GTA games, with Red dead revolver possibly being there too because of a easter egg in Manhunt 2
