I think the boss that adheres too this philosophy the best is Minotaur from SMT4. Players that encounter that boss for the first time will find themselves getting torn up by high crit low accuracy single and multitarget physical attacks that cannot be outhealed even if you get lucky and he doesn't actually land any crits (not likely). Lowering his attack power isn't an option either because he has a move that let's him raise it by 2 levels (buffs stack multiple times in most SMTs) every time he uses it so you'll oom yourself trying too keep up with that. Even with all of that going against the player there is still a solution that will kill him pretty consistently and it's pretty simple. Just stack up a few sukukaja and sukunda and those deadly physical attacks get turned into Minotaur throwing away his entire turn by missing. Minotaur has no way to undo accuracy debuffs for himself or lower the player's dodge so once you got the buffs established your pretty much safe.

Except this, great video like always P.S. Little advice, when you try to read something in Italian, try to read every word just like it is written, because in Italian, for example, the pronunciation of A is not "ei" but "a". In Italian there are also a lot of other rules but they are a lot harder ti explain and just reading a word as It is written is not very easy for someone who's not used to speak Italian. Sorry for the poem.
Hahaha I’ll definitely take that Italian advice, and yeah it’s interesting. One actually fair criticism is the underuse of Yoshizawa. I can get behind her not joining for the Casino because of overlap with Akechi as the Bless user (and his knowledge of her past), but she absolutely should have joined for the Cruiser and Mementos Depths to replace Akechi and round out the party. Yes, they would have had to reanimate some cutscenes, but it would have integrated her into the team so much better than having her join just for the Laboratory. That arc was amazing, but I wish she got more time beforehand (and more time to use Cendrillon instead of just rushing her to Vanadis)

And the comment calling the soundtrack a "total bust", I don't even know how to help you there buddy.
I fully agree with you (although I have not yet played P2). P5 was a step up in many ways from previous entries (finally, dungeon design) and had an amazing soundtrack and user interface. My only problem with the game is that I found almost all the playable characters truly unlikable and the catchphrase "Take my heart" makes my skin crawl off my body over to the balcony and jump off the edge... it is just so cringey.
The funny thing about normal mobs still being hard is that it's just what RPGs do. If the normal mobs didn't stay consistently challenging you'd just stop leveling.

When I played Persona 5, it was the single best video game I had played since Final Fantasy 9 back in the day. Mediocre after mediocre JRPGs have seemed to crush the genre. Although many of us JRPG fans tolerate them, let's be honest.... The 90s of JRPGs the Japanese artists were competing with the likes of the Disney Golden Age era of films and Hayao Miyazaki (yes video games keep up with films, tv shows and anime, pop culture is pop culture after all)... Somewhere in the 2000s anime started to get really good at about that time, while 'mainstream' JRPGs flipped to 3rd person perspective and went through their PS2 PS3 era.....stiff low budget 3d models that would just kind of stand there and wave their arms around robotically, overly generic grindy mechanics, repetitive dungeon crawling, clunky stiff action battle systems to replace the turn-based ones, and generic stories. (Although series like Pokemon were good to a degree in my opinion) Most of these games, let's be honest, we had to look past quite a lot of the problems to enjoy them, for example the Xenosaga series or Ys, or Grandia or FF12, Nier or Star Ocean or Dragon Quest. Persona 5 for me just hit on all points. It's sleek, quick, cool, stylish, it doesn't feel.....'clunky' in a sense, and it's always interesting, great more classic turn-based mechanics. The reason I'm a huge JRPG fan is the long drawn out stories with tons of reading, the cutscenes and characters. I think to have a great JRPG you really need both story and gameplay, but where-as in the west gameplay trumps story absolutely and completely, and single player games morphed into being 'social', which is terrible for introverted types of people, in the east what I love is that story (i.e characters) can actually be more important than gameplay itself. Well, in any case, Persona 5 has both, and it just seems really well designed, well thought out at every corner. For me, the first 5 hours of this game are just masterful. I've never been that involved in a JRPGs characters since the 90s FF7-9, Chrono, classic Tales days.
I bought this game persona 5r(the ultimate version) on sale for about 37 dollars. So the price wasn't so bad. If people are worried about a game specifically the dlc when will they learn to wait. This is not why I didn't get it til now, it was cause there were other games I wanted more. But I'm glad I didn't get it til now. Love the game

@@instantpurple1282 Maybe I wasn't clear... I loved the fact that there was dungeon design in P5. My favourite ATLUS games are the Etrian Odyssey games precisely because of the work put into the dungeon design. I did not like the random dungeon design in P3P and P4G. They were both fantastic games but had some effort been put in to actually designing dungeons, they would have been much better. This is why as soon as I see the words "rogue-like," I lose any and all interest in a game.
@@vorpal22 I love the Persona series as well. Also, I'm not speaking against the game design, I'm just saying that the game's narrative would be different if instead of being a suave phantom thief making a well planned getaway, you were a guy in a mask with his friends trying to escape a labyrinth. My point is that the idea and concept of a masterfully planned getaway being dashed by randomized dungeons would sully the plan for the game. Atlus got some good footing in Persona 3 and more in 4, but in my humble opinion: P5 was their best yet.

Nah youre wrong there, the fights get really boring because if you know their weaknesses, its just find the persona with the weak skill for that enemy, then hold up, the fight is finished
@@bongodongo9229 Yeah P5 is pretty easy once you know what you are doing. I think it's a great first SMT/Persona experience for those who have never played a JRPG that you can literally just attack spam your way through 99% of.

I hate when people leave misleading ratings that may turn people from a game for reasons that likely won't even apply to them (such as DLC or the system it's on), like bro just rate the game for what it is. I say this because some people may not even realize that they may have turned down a good game over some reviews that weren’t even actual criticisms of said game. As for the good reviews with low ratings, I assume that they are misclicks.
What do you think about troll ratings then?

When you tried to read in Italian I was dying from laughing, and also, by being an Italian myself, I was kinda embarassed for the fact that most of Italian videogamers are the most salty people in the world, and our "videogame journalists" are even worse.
Except this, great video like always
When I first saw a comment saying the Italian gaming landscape and Italian game journalists were kinda questionable, I thought it was just the one dude’s opinion, but seeing all these comments also mentioning the same thing is showing me that’s not the case. I’m sorry you guys have to deal with that
What was the closest thing you had to the Ides of March lately? Namely if Video Games are the subject matter.

As someone who never played P5 Vanilla, I'm glad there was Royal, a version that improved the faults of the original and slapped a bit more content. I could see why someone who played the original wouldn't be so fond of having to do that lengthy journey all over again, but even then, others welcomed that opportunity.
To be fair, p5r makes everything in it's power to make that second journey as easy as possible, with all the QOL improvements i somehow managed to max almost all the confidants (except Shinya and the politician) without overly relying on a guide
I started with playing royal and got curious about vanilla, the two games to me felt like different games

4:31 It just means "Shiiii(add as many i as wanted)t" in Russian. Usually russians doesn't like turn based gameplay.
Though I have my problems with Persona 5, mostly from comparing the game to previous entries of the franchise or just personal tastes, I can't understand these comments calling Persona 5 a bad 0/10 game. Yeah, I like Persona 2,3 and 4 more than Persona 5 but I could never unironically call Persona 5 a bad game.

Same here !

The dungeon design of this game (minus Mementos) is one if its huge steps up from P3P / P4G randomized dungeons. They were great.
@@vorpal22 Well, you can't exactly have a detailed theft and subsequent escape plan if you don't know the layout. Also, many players (including me and my friend group) like not having to stumble around to get to the next floor or area.
