- All different kinds of people play Persona 5 and all the other Persona games before it, so today we're looking at some more of the different kinds of Persona players out there. This is part 2, so if there's someone missing, odds are it was in part one.

1. really enjoy a game
2. finish it once
3. 100% it
4. EMPTY VOID OF DEPRESSION
5. look for a new game
6. find new game
7. go back to step 1
you know its back when youre already on your 4th game series, went from Danganronpa to Zero Escape to Persona and now to Monster Prom (can really recommend Monster Prom to anyone who is expieriencing "date withdral" after Persona)
you can tell there is something clearly wrong when both danganronpa and persona are in the same list of games
@@ohmeohmicah Neither is a remarkably bad series they both just have really toxic fanbases sometimes, especially back on Twitter. (thank God that awful website is gone) It's kind of weird how "mainstream" M rated series tend to have really toxic fanbases while kids games fanbases are super wholesome minus indie horror and the uber popular games like Minecraft, Fortnite, and Pokemon. The latter especially during the dark years of 2017-2021. The Mario and Zelda fanbases are some of the best around, never any drama or fandom wars. The Zelda community is especially wholesome. The only M rated series with a non-toxic fanbase is NieR though that's mainly because it's so obscure. Like, a good 80% of the fandom are just coomers there for some robass who never played the games and the remaining 20% are lore junkies who actually enjoy the insanity the games offer.
This was me with:
Nier:Automata -> Cyberpunk 2077 -> Scarlet Nexus -> Yakuza Series -> Persona 5 R
Based
I just really like Zero Escape
I don't fit in any of these really but one thing I loved about playing P5 was the interactions with the characters I'm autistic irl and choosing Dialogue in the game makes me feel much better about myself when I go interact with people.
Same
I'm autistic online
@@tsukuyomiacolyte4895 💀💀
@@tsukuyomiacolyte4895 NAUR U DID NOT
i agree with as im autistic as well
i honestly used to be a P5 purist. A part of that was obviously the visuals. P5 was such a feast on the eyes for me. It has so much style and pizazz that I became reluctant to let go. I also knew at the time that P5's gameplay had the most polish. Playing other games meant giving up baton pass and other QoL improvements.
Still, I'm immensely glad that I've played the older games. They have given me moments of deep introspection, and provided a safe space to identify and explore some of my inner turmoil, things that P5 could never deliver fully.
I'm so happy for you! I'm curious how you feel about p3re since it's pretty much p5 with a p3 skin on top. Personally I enjoy it enough as an excuse to p3re-traumatize myself but it feels like it falls short as a displacement of the original version(s) and I'm really not keen on the amount of people I've seen trash the originals through the remake.
I thought HeavenlyM couldn't be more based, and here he comes out as a FF Tactics fan. Respect, King.
A fellow FFT fan??? I salute to you King 👑
the key to that fight is ramza's squire self buffs in your secondary slot while classed as monk, makes it massively easier, tbf helps that monk is insanely good in general
@@Christopher-eq1rn Yeah I’ve played FFT since I was like 10 or something, spamming the speed self buff over and over again and then just killing Wiegraf and Velius before they get to act is such a good cheese strat, honestly too good of a strat.
@@HeavenlyM Yeah Ramza can be kinda busted despite how simple his unique moveset is, but honestly his self buffs are fitting for the character who constantly rises against the church
"Fire Emblem Negative 3.4 released in 1886 on the fucking printing press" is the most hilarious thing I've heard in a long time. Props to you sir.
PS: As someone who showed up to the Shadow Mitsuo fight on my first playthrough with Yoshitsune, I'm glad my people got some representation in this video.
I think he's making a joke about Fire Emblem Tracia 776 which released on the SNES in 2000, a game FE Elitists harp on and on about being "TEH GREATEST OF ALL TIM BEDER DAN AWAKENING FATES AN THRRE HOISES COMBIND!!!!111!!!"
@@krimsonkattbruh I like Thracia but Genealogy is A. better than Thracia, and B. Not as good as the latest games combined
Then you have me, who finds my favorite to be Awakening, with Three Houses in second. Oddly, I didn't really care much for Fates, but maybe I just didn't get to play it much.
I'm 100% the searcher. After P4G, I NG+'d it 6 times, beat P3FES twice, played the entire Xenoblade franchise and then finally played P5R when it dropped last month and I'm _still_ waiting to find something that hits like P4G did the first time round
It's not really the same genre but have you already tried Three Houses ?
It came out after P5 and it definitly took some of its components. I played it before playing P5 and the social links equivalent and cast of characters are really was I enjoyed the most (i'm not really a tactical rpg fan)
@@Outlow2400 I’ve heard good things about three houses, and I’ve definitely considered buying it. Switch games tend to come with a heavy price tag tho, so I’d wanna be sure I like it before splashing out on it
Y'know, something I keep wondering about myself is whether persona 3 was really that impactful on its own to me as a person, or if it just came at the right time when I was physically so isolated from everyone I knew or even could form a friendship with. Sadly, I can't replay it for the first time again.
I'm constantly wondering which game I'd like to be able to replay for the first time between persona 3, silent hill or subnautica. And while i know for a fact choosing silent hill or subnautica will help me relive what got me into them in the first place, as I've played them more than enough, persona 3 has been buried deep in my heart and while the love I feel for it is enormous, and memories of the city and kimi no kioku will still have me choking up, I don't know how much of it is me and the things I associate with the game.
Honestly if nothing else writing this comment convinced me to just nut up, grab the iso and replay the game (my ps2 is packed away and I don't have a dvd drive in my pc anyways). What I wonder most is if I'll still romance chiho or if my tastes have changed since then. I remember pretty much nothing gameplay wise and even the story is a bit spotty, so hey maybe I'm closer to that first playthrough than I'd thought.
But that'll need to come after I whoop maruki's ass till he comes to his senses.
@Outlow2400 Hate to break it to you but 3H took nothing from persona. it's called support conversations and they've been in FE since FE4. This is why I say persona 5 fans and 3h fans are the same peas in the pod. they've played 1 game from both franchises and nothing else.
My favourite is "Hates Mishima and Morgana for being selfish and egotistic after a life of being beat down but loves Futaba for the exact same reason because GAMR GURL WAIFU"
I didn't like Mishima the moment I realized I got used by him, maybe it's a personal problem I have

Alright so in another 2 years we'll do part 3 lol
Thanks for almost 24k subs! Appreciate you all
I am the most peacful Persona 5 Fan😅
The link goes to the Rise says Senpai video
@@pokefantic1504 bro wait I’m so dumb lmao, thanks for pointing that out. Kinda mad I’m just seeing your comment after 2 weeks too 😂
That last one… damn
I felt that when I first time finished DE: human revolution
Man... you got Mankind divided, the first deus ex if you didn’t played.
Pretty similar gameplay there is Prey and Dishonored from Arkane. And obviously as a golden standard for that kind of story there is the entire metal gear solid series as well as Half life and Portal for the standard of first person sci-fi videogames. You’re welcome.
@@edwardsuou you think there is any game with as good of level design as the first deus ex? I have yet to find one
@@Christopher-eq1rn Dishonored 1 is close, I'll tell you that. Though it's a lot more stealth focused than Deux Ex it has some of the best puzzles and level design in any game I know.
Persona 5 royal came at the right time for me, i spent so much time on it at a point where i felt really bad. It made me live another, funnier and overall better life for a few weeks.
When i find a game like that i always feel empty and depressed when finishing it, it's a combination of a good escape from reality and being stuck in a hard time irl. This feeling eventually always goes away but it hits hard man.
the XP grinder part man, for the love of god, Medusa wreck my ass so bad in SMT IV I literally spent 2 weeks grinding my level and fuse a ton of new devil to beat her in less than 10 minutes, and it was the first SMT game i've played and that play style move on to Persona 4 Golden and now Royal, btw love ur content, it's too damn relatable
Once I got notified You released a Persona video and saw the title, I couldn't help but lightly grin 😂
I just finished Persona 5 Royal for the first time yesterday (played vanilla twice earlier this year) and I'm literally the searcher 😭
Knew the game thanks to Smash. Began playing for the music. Stayed for the story/gameplay (I'm currently doing my first ever Persona, Megaten and JRPG playthrough on P4G PC version).
That Kiseki mention at the end and this whole video made me acknowledge you as the goat
There’s another type as well called the “SMT Is better” player. And no matter what will place SMT on this pedestal and claim it is better even if they didn’t play Persona. It is the holy grail of video games in their eyes.
I never bought the teddie socks but you know damn well I thought about it…
I'm the Cheeser
Plays first game once and only does NG+ for every playthrough
Only look at guides for interactions and demon builds
Started as the music lover, then played P4G (Persona 4 Golden) Loved every second of it, then played P5R (Persona 5 Royal and became the searcher, even after starting NG+ recently I feel like it stings a little after completeing the major game not 100% but just beating the Royal ending, going back to nothing and starting from near scratch wouldn't feel better but a NG+ will allow me to fall in love with P5R again as I did the first time
Me asf
I'm part music connoisseur, part searcher, but the searcher part happened after I played The Witcher 3. Then I started searching for that next game when I found Persona 5. I'm currently on New Game Plus when I also started playing Strikers too, which I found pretty interesting since I liked Devil May Cry 5.
That’s crazy because after I beat persona 4 (after playing 3 and 5 multiple times) I started searching and also found the trails series and it’s so good 10/10 recommend
I'm on my new game+ for P4, and guess who I'm choosing to romance because she WAS THE ONLY FEMALE PARTY MEMBER I DIDN'T? Naoto.
By the way, I'm the chill player who just maxes out who they want. I maxed out quite a few social links during my playthrough. Namely most of the party members (I'm sorry Kanji, I forgot about you)
So basically no good type of persona players out there, gotcha.
I loved the way you ended this video. I was thinking I was the searcher and the game that filled that void was exactly the one you showed. Awesome video!
3:48 only on printing press💀💀💀💀💀💀
I am basically the Dungeon Crawler. I played Strikers before Royal because the time management and permanently missable character development wasn't exactly motivating me after it was my least favourite part of Cold Steel 3 and 4 (besides talking to everyone just to make sure they don't have a key item). Even now that I'm playing the Switch port of Royal, I became a Guide Cult Member so that I wouldn't miss anything. Which has backfired, because the guide miscalculated the affinity required to reach Rank 5 of the *Councillor* confidant.
Dude the dungeon crawler bit was way too accurate, since I actually like the SMT games as well.
3:40 made me almost die. I was not ready for that at all.
0:49 I'm the opposite. i prefer the social sim parts of the game over the dungeons
1:44, dude. I know a lot of people are like that but believe me, not everybody that ships two anime girls together is awful and forces their views on everyone and it won’t end the world.
I was definitely The Seacher.
But I filled that void with the Yakuza series
Man I didn't expect to enjoy watching your videos so much.
Hell yeah, I'm early this time. Good vid, keep it up!
Thank you!! ❤️
Well I mean I was pretty much a masochist for attempting my first run of P5 on Merciless without using a guide.
Got through 4th palace and then stopped, was just too burnt out from the deaths. So went back after 2 years of it being on my shelf and did Normal, was severely underlevelled for final boss but thanks to learning from Merciless, beat it quite nicely using some homemade strats.
2:04 why does it have to be my favourite P4 characters?
i jumped up and down like a little kid after brute forcing that table in p3, no regrets 😎
I had PTSD when that *thing* showed up on screen
0:36 lmao is that limeD
LimeD maybe…
I saw the first one and didn't fit any of those and was curious if I was some weird unicorn.
Then you saw me and called me the dungeon crawler. And here I am. Almost perfectly described in every detail. (I don't hate the social sim parts, but I do think they get somewhat repetitive and drag on longer than they absolutely need to sometimes)
2:58 That's literally me!
Why you gotta attack me with the searcher XD
Gosh, The Void type of player hits hard, I feel like I've been called out
originally started off as the dungeon crawler. in persona 4, i did almost no social links and the final boss ended up taking me like 20 attempts to beat. by the time i started persona 5, i was really invested in the social links and would speedrun the palaces so i could play the game like a visual novel.
I was thinking the exact same thing when you show Trails series.
I didn't expect to be called out during the 1st seconds of the video.
I'm the "Searcher" but with the trails saga. After finishing Trails of Cold Steel IV I've been doing a lot of research on other good JRPGs to fill the void while I wait for Reverie release in the West in 2023. I hope Persona 5 is the right game for this
2:08 hey, that's me!
I really liked P5 when I saw it, but I didn't and still don't have a PS4, but now that the game's been released for PC, I'm definitely buying it.
News report from a searcher: technically found that hole in persona 3 and 4, almost finished them, the hole is expanded, will come back to this story in 5
I definitely a searcher, and I too also found Trails of Cold Steel to temporarily fill the void. Danganronpa did too.
3:17 “if this is you, ya you. Go play the other games”
Me who had bought a psvita just to play golden and is now getting started on portable but bought it two months over they announced that they were gonna be portable to all consoles so I’m here thinking to myself if this was the worst decision of my life or maybe it was the best:Ok
I picked Persona 5 up cuz there is one guy I knew that he used to says a lot of good things about Persona series and I wasn’t expecting it to be this good
Persona 3 Fes got me into the franchise. Then I play P4 and Golden and then P5 and Royal. I must say P5 & P5R are outstanding. Especially the Palace designs are outstanding. I enjoyed walking around and solving the puzzles. Also the music in the 3rd and 6th Palaces are really good.
“They kept their starting Persona because they loved it so much”
me with Arsene (Skill Cards FTW)
Never thought I'd see part 2 hehe
Yes I gave my Arsene 99 magic, you got me there
Loved the video my friend!
When i started playing the Persona Saga I was a type of player like " the one who cames from Fallout, and is very confused". Seriously, when I started Persona 5 Royal (my first JRPG ever) It really showed me how little I knew about RPG's in general.
Most of the time i was thinking things like: "Why there is no character creation?", "So, my social stats don't unlock new dialogue?" And "I CAN'T BEAT THE FINAL BOSS WITH PURE CHARISMA?!"
But, in the end, the P5R became one of my favourite games.
I still think that a character creator would be way more fun though.
People becoming the searcher happens to often in this world
I dint even know people struggled against the okumra fight, maybe i just had a good social link with someone and swap party members on their turn
Time to go buy the Teddie and Morgana socks in a bundle every half a year
I'm a searcher and just like you Cold Steel was a great alternative but I'm just glad Royal came to the switch so now I can take the game anywhere
Damn I'm the searcher. I found it with Persona 4 Golden, Undertale and Yakuza and currently Persona 3 FES, but after those, I'm always starting over. I enjoy it though, I like looking for a great game and then finding it and growing attached.
I'm that one guy who just beat the game 2 minutes ago and immediately starts a NG+ while not skipping a single piece of dialogue
I'm kind of XP grinder despite the fact that I hate griding.
Maybe it's more apt to say that the fact that I know I always go for as high level as possible and that made me grind too much that makes me hate grinding.
I am literally the dungeon crawler my friend told me it was a good game but I didn’t expect 50 hours of dialogue before I can go to the next palace 😭
Another trails fan I see, good on ya
I'm the searcher, I plan on playing any game with the P5 cast in it and then move on to Persona 4 Golden
I'm more of a min maxer or completionist (aka me and some few others). I love maxing out my personas up, making the best that they can be. I could be considered dungeon crawler lover but the perks and story inbetween fights are stuff that gives me reprieve after a long time building up personas.
I was a searcher. Found Cold Steel through a friend. And now I'm a searcher again but this time because of Cold Steel.
That’s exactly where I’m at right now too. Thankfully we’re getting Trails Into Reverie soon, can’t say the same for P6 😂
@@HeavenlyM I'm counting the days
i’m a mix of dungeon crawler (i love those elements, but also love the story), and i also love the music. i first discovered persona through smash, and i grew to really love it. i listened to the music before i even had p5 (at the time i didn’t have a ps4, so i originally played it on ps3 lol)
Im somewhat the music person but i modded the music into my copy of mariokart wii and then started playing persona 6 months later without realising that the music was from it
Bro the searcher hit different I was literally hit with the void I played persona 5 times I bought a ps3 felt the wholesomeness of persona 4 and the pain of persona 3 desperate for more I bought persona q and q2 but I’m burned out no have has brought me such joy and such loneliness before and before you tell me to get friends I do I’m always in search of the next game to get me in my feels while also having amazing combat this was the game for me and I search in wait for the next persona game *yes I have tried smt*
I'm the grinder and completionist until near the end where I was too scared for it to be over soon and stopped playing xd
For a bit I was the saver because I thought the starting persona was like your starter in Pokemon. But when I realised it didn't get anymore moves beyond lv 8 I fused it.
I use a guide somewhat and say fudge it halfway through the game and only use it to check who’s available on said day so I can do the characters I want. Just finished persona 4’s main story really loved it
This is the first video I watched after finishing p5 for the first time, I am the searcher, god help me
I finished P5 late 2019 and had the misfortune to hop on Twitter around that time. P2 Innocent Sin became my salvation
That last one hit close to home
Idk who that Zack guy is but they right Kaga's work in 1886 was really good...dare I say even better than Awakening, Fates, and Three Houses combined
yeah i think im the searcher. im near the end of p5r and i wanted to extend it sooo badly, i originally planned on not finishing the vanilla boss until *december 25th*. i keep going back to old save files and repeating moments in the game bc i just dont want it to end :( oh well, at least when persona 4 and 3 come out on the switch ill have something to fill the void! :)
I'm kinda the XP grinder or more specifically loot grinder just because it's something I can turn my brain off to while I listen to UA-cam or when I woke up at 3 am and waiting for my meds to knock me out again.
Ahh searcher. I always put off finishing a game I really like cuz finishing it just means I'm done with an amazing game. So many games just abandoned near the end just because I can't bear to see it end. Ironic
I am most definitely the first one, when I first saw arsene it was like the coolest design I’ve had ever seen so I immediately re-summoned him when the game forced me to execute him and i’ve done everything in my power to keep him relevant in the game.
I'm actually a saver, i kept Arsene through the entire game and he'd the first one i leveled up to lv 99, even if he ended up proving useless and i often use other Curse Personas, and i honestly don't regret it. I don't really go through the trouble of grinding exp unless i already know that the bext boss is near impossible to beat, wether that be by rumors or game over experience.
Honestly the music argument is me but I’m actually enjoying the game now when I heard last surprise for the first time man it was love for the music at first site Lyn does an amazing job
I'm the searcher and I've still been searching after about a year ot two
I accidentally did an Izanagi solo run of p4. I picked up a bunch of attribute cards in yukiko's castle so Izanagi had stats much higher then everything i could fuse so i decided to use him until i could fuse something better. I then found a bunch of magican cards and his cleave got upgraded to god hand super early.
P5 forces you to fuse Arsene and pixie into agathion unless you grind to level 4 and grab both mandrake and jack o lantern to fuse bicorn instead. So in p5R i decided i wouldn't fuse Arsene. If you have an accident at the gallows, instead of receiving exp the persona will receive 10 skill points instead. If you pay for the fusion alarm blessing every 1-2 fights will trigger a fusion alarm. You can just gallows execution a bunch of cheap low level personas until you have an accident to give another persona a bunch of stats instead of paying a lot of money to level up the persona to only get a couple of stat points. Putting a persona in lockdown will cause it to learn a defensive skill. The longer the persona is in lockdown the better the skill tends to be. You can also use incenses to raise the personas stats by a few points.
For p3 i fused Orpheus immediately. Junpei can cover strike, slash, and fire damage in the early game but what you really need is a source of electric and ice damage until akihiro and mtisuru join. It's a bit silly how many early game enemies are weak to ice before you get a party member that can can use ice skills. Fortunately one of Elizabeth's first request is to fuse jack frost so most players will get ice boost and mabufu pretty early on.
The last one is totally me, startet this year with the trails series and now i‘m already in the third game
Enjoy it man, it’s so insanely good I wish I could wipe my memory and play through the whole series again
When i first started playing persona i didnt fit into any of these players but i eventually became a saver. I still use other personas but i like having the starter persona as the main persona
...yeah, I'm the Saver.
I love smol fairies in general. On my first playthrough of P5, I held onto Pixie (buying it back after the forced fusion tutorial) and brought her to level 99 by endgame, and she was able to keep up thanks to using the lock up mechanic to raise her stats very high and learning powerful skills through jail or skill cards.
I'm the Searcher too - after P5 ended since I had played it for months, I wasn't sure how to feel. ...soooo I went and bought P5 Strikers a month later to continue my adventures with the Thieves. (and that's also a great game) ...and I plan on getting Q2 as well. ...I may have a problem.
back in 2017 i was definitely the searcher until i discovered what later became my favorite gaming franchise of all time the legend of heroes.
[Waits for part three to see if I'm on it]
Oh no. One of my friends who is also a Persona Enjoyer got me the Teddie socks for my birthday lol.
Well The Searcher just scared me 😅 Legit went from Persona 5 Royal, played some random JRPGs, then found Trails of Cold Steel… what the actual
the teddie socks really bring out my inner domestic bearorist
As a Searcher, I would also suggest Tokyo Xanadu Ex+, Falcom's ARPG variation, and possibly also the Blue Reflection games, if you have a taste for magical girls / shojo. Oh, and maybe Dusk Diver.
If you're looking for a decent SMT-alike, I could also recommend The Lost Child.
Tokyo Xanadu looks really good, it's definitely on my to do at some point
I'll describe myself, see if anyone can relate
The anime watcher: You heard that Persona was good but didn't want to or couldnt play the games for whatever reason, so you watched the anime.
You absolutely loved it and binge watched all of them.
The moment you got the chance you got the version of the game that has stuff that wasn't in the anime (Royal, Golden...)
You romanced Kasumi in P5R and get upset that she is never mentioned in any "what your waifu says about you" lists.
i'm the searcher. except i've only played p5 and half of p4. so i've still got 3 ½ games and the spinoffs until i'm truly lost 😭
As a searcher and a former purist,I am glad to say I FINALLY found a game that I love as much as P5
I'm exactly the same as you, in the fact that I played Persona, became the Searcher then played the Legend of Heroes series. Now I'm a Searcher again until I can play Kuro 2.
I suppose the closest I am is the searcher, and I found my relief in botw
I'm a saver. It's a shame your first persona is thrown out and can be a struggle to keep.
