I'm a guitar player and it has just hit me how funny it is that we, as guitarists, are so comfortable holding our guitars that we sit and chat about with them still in our laps I'm just noticing this at 56 years old lol Absolutely love Ms. Sophie Amazing guitarist with a touch not seen in too many people of any age
Yeah, like you, I am comfortable holding my instrument in my lap as I have long conversations. Unfortunately, I'm a drummer, and sometimes it's difficult to balance my entire 7 piece drum set + all my cymbals and stands on my lap.... Maybe I'm just not holding it right? 😉
Awesome to see Sophie on here! I doubt she remembers but pre pandemic I shared the stage with her band a couple times. They had tonnes of technical twin guitar, written, thought out solos. Very cool, advanced stuff! I can tell everyone, she's very sweet, down to earth and humble. We both complimented each others playing and chatted briefly. She's 100% up there as a guitarist. I remember watching her from the side of the stage admiring/being drawn to her skills! Huge stage presence too. Legitimately excited to hear she's doing more band stuff. If you're reading this Sophie, you belong on the stage + writing and playing original music. I wish you success and nothing but the best! ✌️👌😊😊
@@SophieBurrell I played with Tim Madden occasionally back then, was a unique set up with him because we never rehearsed anything, but he had built up a reputation with his group. So I was basically along for the ride 😂 there's a clip of it on my page I think! Was a festival in Laverstock if memory is serving me correctly 😊✌️. I have a feeling you guys came on right after us. But I played a few gigs with you near where I live in various bands. We met a few times before pandemic but Laverstock was the time we actually spoke properly backstage 😊 hope you're doing well these days, glad to hear you're getting back into being in bands again too! 👌👌👌 Fingers crossed everything stays open/post pandemic and it all works out for ya
Just love watching her. She does these little grins to camera when she does a bit thats so easy for her but i could never do, also screws her nose up when shes doing a really good bit, a mesmerising performer deserves every success!
@@bobstreet8840 I mean it's not a pre-requisite to be able to improvise, her market and fan base is playing half a song on UA-cam and looking great and sounding great whilst doing it, that's her thing, she does that well. She doesn't have to do anything else, she's carved her place out in the world.

Been watching her channel for some time and this the most restrained I have seen her play (speed wise).. I love it when a player with high technique slows down (she does sweep picking, legato etc on her channel) as the are usually very clean and accurate.
Luv Sophie jamming with the Captain , from Slipknot to Floyd this musician demonstrates one heck of a repertoire and ability! Brilliant advocate for the musicality and quality of PRS guitars.
Thank you for the wonderful diversion to what's going on elsewhere in the world. Happy Birthday, Lee! Thanks for all the journeys into something other than politics and war. Sophie is a treasure to the World.
I love that School of Rock is what got Sophie into guitar. She's a talented guitarist in any gender category. These interviews are very entertaining and enjoyable.
Great interview very informative and loving Lee's rhythm playing now very clean and balanced something I jump over being self-taught and trying to play everything too quickly.
To me, it doesn’t matter if the person is a woman or man. Tina S. is my favorite guitarist of all time. Of course Gilmore, SRV, Wendy Melvoin, Nancy Wlison. I love music and special talented people. Sophie B is joining the ranks of my favorites.
Every guitar is a new world. I've had the chance to try many Styles of guitars and every single guitar inspired me somehow to get new ideas that wouldn't come to me using the same guitar. Change My mind
gear is a trap for shmucks, you dont need new gear to compose great music and you dont need a new guitar for that inspiration its all in your head, those thoughts are only enforced by the retail culture of music gear as well as your own bias
Sophie's a great player, I wish her every success. Plays with a little too much gain for my personal taste, but she's got a lot of talent and it's great to see her taking it in a band direction, which many young musicians seem reluctant to do. Playing with other people is so important in developing a voice on an instrument.
I was going to call you a boring blues cuck, then I heard the intro jam. That shit sounds like ass and that is coming from someone who runs multiple fuzzes into eachother.
@@user-dz9yx3et9y I would tend to agree with your assessment. Technically, she's a marvel, but there's not a lot of soul in her playing. I appreciate that even she admitted that she can't improv, which comes from learnig to play from the heart and being able to play what you hear in your head. The playing that she did here at the end of the show is more impressive than all of her fast stuff, which even she conceded amounts to doing party tricks. A lot of the kids you see online--on guitars, drums, Etc--are big on all the fast and intricate stuff, but they can't express their feelings through their instrument, can't improvise and for the life of them can't slow down and play with soul. It's great that she admitted wanting to learn more of that. And she will. She's good.
Do you think steve, tyler or jared would ever appear on Andertons? Might as well get all the shred collab people on here, found so many new tech because of this channel.
I recently found Sophie’s YT channel. She can play! PRS, I absolutely love my Vela S2 Satin Semi hollow body guitar. Even though I’m a new player it feels great and it is a tone machine!
Brilliant to see Sophie on your channel She is a supreme talent and I wish her all the success she desires She truly deserves it My guitar journey and sheer enthusiasm for music and my desire to become a better guitarist is all down to Sophie’s influence
She is on my UA-cam radar for 2 weeks and she is all herself with some great playing technique! Great guest for this show! Btw Sophie, that guitar is freak’n awesome!
Wow the black one just lock 🔐 locked you keep doing you keep doing sophie burrell never getting stopened never you can stopened beacuase yours are sophie burrell😊❤ love you
Awesome, very interesting. Love seeing Sophie develop as a guitar player. When Sophie talked about legato, as she’s well known for it, could’ve given examples of her playing. You didn’t talk about her solo stuff, would’ve been great to hear her play ‘Tranquility’ at the end, as opposed to improvising, which as she said in the interview, isn’t mad about it. 🤘😀🤘
My biggest mistake is being to self conscious to start youtube in 2007 when I wanted to. People want to see your journey not just the final perfect product especially In music
Cool interview…would’ve liked to see something besides the PRS again though. Reverend, Yamaha, Ibanez, or whatever…just something different. Always great to see the young crowd carrying on with music either way.
