- The sort of sequel to the first 24 hour Korean food adventure a while back, but this time, we're in South Korea! It's not everyday that I get to grocery shop at a massive Korean superstore, so I... bought a lot, $150 worth of groceries? And spent an entire day making some of my favorite Korean foods - we're talking street toast, ddeokbokki (spicy rice cakes), and... a very special remake of the ramen from Parasite.

Love that Inga came to Seoul to cook! Though I know she said she was fitting in some delicious restaurant/street food action too 🙂 Those bigger Korean grocery stores are legit!
Those meal packs are actually a great idea when you are travelling, indeed! I love taking a place with a kitchen when I go on holidays, it's so nice to cook at home for a few days and check out the countries' supermarkets, to kind of live there for a short time and not just feel like a tourist

this was such a fun, beautiful, and soothing video. i imagine if i lived somewhere near a superstore like that, I'd never feel the need to cook on my own with so many fresh good looking options!
If you're still in Korea and can find it, try that Kombucha but with peach-flavor. I promise you won't regret it. The peach seems to be fizzier than the other flavors though so be careful to avoid the volcano-action when you add it to your water.

I always wonder what do they do to plastics once it has finished the number of times it can be recycled? Sure, they have great recycling facilities, but most plastics can only go through the process about 7 times.. then it goes to landfills where they never decompose. That supermarket is great and giant but it is also my first time to see the reality that our groceries are filled with trash too? Wild😂 It is just my wild bewilderment. I mean no hate. ❤❤❤❤
Yess.. as an Indian, I have never bought veggies & fruits wrapped in plastic.. everything is really fresh from farms( max 1-2 after harvesting, we get it in our markets, unlike other countries)

for got to add love the addition of an IPA. The beer flavor cuts back on the intense spicy and adds an earthy flavor. Im gonna try my tteobboki with cheese Ramen ill tag you in the photo this weekend if I get a chance to make it. ❤❤❤
tbh...staying alone,in a city like seoul, in this calm apartment,making homemade foods like teokbokki & ramen! ah best feeling ever! best therapy for stress ! its so tempting to try it! soooo relaxing
I had a spam, egg, tomato and pickles sandwich last night, it was perfect! I hadn't eaten much that day and it was so yummy! I've got this Polish chili sauce, its lid is very open and it's made with carolina reapers! I put a dash in my butter chicken yesterday and it was quite spicy!

@Inga Lam: Great video! Could you tell us more about the place that you stayed? Airbnb? How expensive was it? I was staying in a hotel in Seoul recently for a friend's wedding for ~2 weeks and tbh if I was going back, I think I'd prefer something like this with a kitchen.

Genuinely curious question: Is there support for recycling all those plastic containers in Seoul?
Born and raised in Seoul and currently residing in the states. Plastic use in South Korea is undoubtedly worrying especially with the pandemic and the delivery culture that Koreans tend to be so proud of. Although actual separate collection occurs at a greater level (about above 80%) due to its strict separate collection policies than other nations, the amount of plastic that can actually be "recycled" is a different story. I'd say it relates to the complicated recycling system and lack of infrastructure, as well as lack of understanding and advertisement.
Daaaaaaaaamn, that super super grocery store... 🤩 That would make me sad to come back to America... 😭 I don't have a Ranch 99 or H-Mart near me, but I'm guessing that this was better.

On the tteokbokki package, it says that 2인분 meaning it serves 2 people, 20 minute prep time, and that it's very easy (아주) means "very". Correct me if I'm wrong.

Korea is doing a much better job of putting English names on packaging. Nothing was like that in the early 2000s. I think there was "some" 10ish years ago. Can't remember fully and I used to shop at the smaller stores since it was close by my apartment.
Why does everything look better in South Korea? Not just on my shows but everything else I see. Makes my trip to the grocery store scary.
Of course I'm not just in the US but outside of Atlanta so it's like burn your food to be safe style...
