Guys apple math is real, 1/8 > 1/16. so :) 8GB > 16GB
Got to remember that in fractions, the higher the denominator, the smaller the division - so the correct “Apple” math in your sample would be 1/16 > 1/8 (lesser is greater) which would then correlate with 8gb > 16gb (lesser is greater).

They have shown Linux working on these so probably yes
I commented to some computer experts a few years back that non-Apple computer makers would see the huge leaps made by the M1 and capitalize on it for their companies. Their response was incredulous, claiming that probably wouldn't happen because Apple had a different objective with their processors. I am not surprised by this news.
There are ARM Linux notebooks like pinebook. There was Windows on ARM over decade ago. Issue was in Windows not in hardware.
@@sergeykish The issue is simple, there's not many ARM capable apps on Windows that matter, most production software and games rely heavily on x86 cores. Windows running on ARM is the easy part.
@@mikem9536 Apple switched architecture multiple times with "fat binaries" / "universal applications". Absence of ARM capable applications is Windows issue.
Microsoft putting an ARM chip in their Surface product may also just be a business move to get a foot in the same market as the Mac computers, nothing more.
For the moment, there is no big trend towards such chips in the rest of the computer world.
Or to put it more accurately: it's been nearly 40 years now that ARM is intended to be the next very big thing in computer technology, and shall put the market on its head.
And well, it doesn't for now.
This may change, but I would be careful with that claim.

First make Windows on ARM compatible with any apps before selling it as default on your flagship PC
They'll probably have something akin to Apple's Rosetta for that, maybe it will be integrated in Compatibility Mode
Why? Don’t be an early adopter. Wait for new apps to be written for the platform.

"Apple math".... That says it all right there. How many customers and employees have been sent to room 101 to learn this new way of thinking? Needing only 8gb of ram is delusional thinking unless you expect Chromebook level use. **disclaimer - I own and use a 16gb M2 Mini. And an 18 GB M3 Pro Macbook Pro. I also have a late 2015 iMac with a 6700k and 16gb of ram that is buried in my closet somewhere**
The (good) reason why non-APPL devices have long surpassed APPL is the consumer base. We are always gruelling companies regarding every feature and consequently there is a consistent progress. APPL consumer base is more of fan-base (partially because they are not intellectually capable to grasp the progress and preferably tech-averse). So they perhaps like being told how 'magical' the new feature is, including calculator on iPad. They want us to save time, yet spend more in creating 'genmojis' to express a simple bloody thing. It's creative for sure, but will any apple user ever question 'who has got the time'. Unless ofcourse if someone have just few messages to reply everyday and no hobby.

Surface laptops are excellent, minus battery life and pricing. 120hz refresh rate, 1800p display resolution, super light weight, adjustable SSD, and durable.
The pricing around them are crap 💩 . MS thinks it has the brand power of Apple.
Jokes aside, I'm excited to see what the competition is up to. I do hope the new Snapdragon chips can compete with Apple's.

The original Surface was amazing for being x86 in tablet form after iPad made us think ARM was what made that possible. Now it turns out ARM did make that possible!

I like that this qualcomm chip is making noise, it seems like windows arm is now becoming a serious endeavour, also Qualcomm's history is amazing, a really great american company.
latest leaks show that Qualcom lied about everything, chip is much much slower, like 50% slower than on presentation to the investors sheep crowd. If true than Apple can smile again.

The currently most versatile mobile chips are AMDs APUs. Featuring a functional igp that is not shite and can even handle modern games or applications. Most prominent devices, Deck, Ally, Legio Go, Aya neos... and a whole bunch of generic chinese knock off devices but not bad either. Rumor has it, that sony is looking to push out a portable playstation capable of using the ps4 and 5 library based on a efficient amd apu. What does intel or apple bring to the table?

It is a real pathetic video with a lack of technical knowledge and clearly biased. Just face the facts. Apple issues really good processors on Iphone (I am a user) and excelent chips on their laptops with 3 variants for multiple segments, without a competition when performance/batt ussage kpi because the op system was Windows and Microsoft was closed to Intel based processors that sucks in terms of power and thermal performance. But now, appears a really good competition with X Elite and you just do not have an argument but to insult and put Apple as a god. Bad way pal.
