Law of averages says the chances of having perfectly clean paint jobs on all the figures isn't possible. They did as best as they could, Medicom's not as big of a company like Hasbro or Bandai, so some thing's like paint application can be excused a bit but QC issues that can make a figure break should not be excused.
@@nathang4682 Paint is great, though the limited articulation because of the fabric and not knowing if it will tear has me a bit put off by the Mezco line of figures. They almost seem fragile.

A really great review. I enjoyed a lot. You seem to have found an excellent rhythm while presenting a figure. I like this Batman and ordered it but haven't received it yet. I am sure the black costumed one will be just as good. Thanks for sharing your treasure.
Awesome review man! Love this figure best 1/12 Batman IMO . So looking forward to what maybe very well be the BEST Superman figure ever. Mafex Hush Superman !!!
Really?! Oh thank you. I watched a few other reviews of this figure after uploading mine and felt like a may have crapped the bed on this one. I'm glad you appreciate this one.
Just got this figure... enjoy it very much...the cape is a mixed bag,I'm curious have you ever done a video of figures you can use in this scale as far as Batman thugs??? I'm not talking about his rouge gallery but just run of the mill thugs? I love to see you do a video of your best Batman figures with Batman thugs of different scales, especially a video of thug figures you can use for mafex, McFarlane, neca etc.
That was an impressively efficient review! When I saw it was only 8 minutes I thought maybe you were just doing a quick unboxing... I like this figure, I have it on pre-order but I do not own any Mafex figs and I was real nervous about it after the Mafex X-Men that recently came out, with all their QC problems and bad design choices. I've watched 3 or 4 reviews of this one and it seems to be solid, thank goodness! I also want that Superman from this line.
I agree that it's near perfect. My only gripe is that they overdid the cape. It looks more like a blanket. I get that the comics shows a billowing cape, but for action figures, one would want a more realistic cape that won't get in the way of action poses. But, I would still get this blue one, with the plan to replace the cape. :)
That's a completely fair assessment for sure. The cape is definitely a yay or nay for some. I know people who absolutely don't like wired capes or capes that take up too much room and look blankety.
soooo i love cloth capes like that but i prefer to be able to take the wire out when i want as it DOES get in the way if you just want the cape to drape (or sometimes if you're like me you just wanna play with it and wack it on a custom zipline you made to watch the cape flow XD) is there a way to remove the wire from this cape? without destroying it i mean
Thank you! I only consider myself a mid level figure poser because there are some people who just blow my mind with how they can bring a figure to life. I really wanted to show Batman with as many relevant 6" bat characters as I felt relevant considering this may become some folks sole Batman figure in this scale.
Dammit, after watching this vid multiple times I purchased this one and the black and grey versions along with the Superman. Dam it Brad why you do this to me!
Yes, this is possibly the best Batman figure in 1/12 scale, and I am one of those people that prefer to only have one figure of a character which is why I will personally not get this one. It's not because I'm against it, I just prefer my figures looking like "live action" versions of themselves. I will not deny this is tempting me to get the black version and just swap heads or something though...
I was sold on this figure, but went with the black version. I know I’m missing out on the Bruce Wayne head but well, whose really the mask when you’re talking about Batman?
Brad, thanks a lot for this review! Glad many reviewers/fans found this one satisfying. Unfortunately, no reviews convinced me to order this up. QC issues are petrifying me, and the chest looks different from Jim Lee’s signature poses. I have monetary and space limits so that I’ve gotten to make sure the figure I buy is to my liking. I do hope there will be 2.0 version down the line with significant improvements ☺️🙏
Decided to go back and watch this past review but this time watch it while eating a jar of mayo-naize to see if it’s any different than what I remembered it being. Nope… no different. Well, that’s an accomplishment I can mark off my list, although I realize YOUR list may be completely different.
The face looks fine with the naked eye. Up close you can see some of the tiny imperfections. I've seen other people's Batman and their faces don't have the imperfections mine do. Same with the overage on the boot. I'm just "that guy" who gets less than perfect paint apps more often than not.
@@BradTheDCUniverseGeek it happens but close ups show a bit more than the naked eye at normal, it's a lovely figure have to say. Enjoyable review they always make me smile cheers
I think you change the settings of your camera to make the blue and yellow colors appear vibrant. The colors of Batman in the box packaging is way better in real life. The figure itself does not have the same colors shown in the box.
When the superman one comes out, I would like to buy it, but in amazon they charge me 190 dollars for shipping, could you recommend where I can buy it where they do not charge me so much for everything or that they do not ask me for 300 dollars in total with shipping. that the shipment is not so expensive in other words
I'm sticking with my Mezco One:12 Sovereign Knight Batman as the best. I prefer realistic cloth goods and overall better quality of build and materials. Mafex is notorious for fragile pegs and weak joints and well let's face it. It looks like a plastic figure. I love the Jim Lee look, but it's just another plastic Batman and one I'm wagering will have lots of QC issues.
How long do you think those fabrics will last on a mezco figure? I get the feeling if you use them a couple of times, they'll eventually start splitting or tearing. I'm not completely defending Medicom since they have some issues and they have been fixing them over time, but something like the mezo figures has me worried about taking them out and posing them knowing you have limited posing options because of the fabric material.
@@doclouis4236 I own this figure and almost every single Mezco release. This finally dethroned my Mezco Sovereign Knight. There was no contest. This thing is so smooth and in hand its near perfect. I have my Mezco Supreme Knight Batman on the way and unless the Mezco Michael Keaton Batman can dethrone this Mafex, this is the king Batman for me. So impressed.

Though, it would be a funny attention to detail if Mezco didn't add any neck articulation just to stay true to the original costume.
Very cool looking Batman with a pretty great cape but proportions seem a bit off/small for a Jim Lee Hush design imo. Would have preferred to see a comparison with the Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi (AY) Batman with each in the cape spread out over the arms (landing type) pose as the AY Batman proportions look more Hush-like and has a badder/more intimidating overall Batman look imo. Have seen a number of other reviews noting Mafex QC issues too from the cowl coming loose just above the bat insignia, outside wires not staying inside the cape, sloppy paint & some too loose joints which are disappointing for the price point. I'll still take the AY Batman over this guy in terms of overall look.....Based on the last couple Batman issues from McFarlane Toys presumably they could issue something that "looks" substantially comparable to this issue with better quality control while not being as articulated & with a plastic cape for $20.
John Halley probably due more to the likeness to Jim Lee’s artwork. Most of his male figures, especially around the time he was drawing Batman hush, don’t have a lot of lip definition. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s definitely comic accurate as far as I’m concerned.
Obviously a very awesome figure overall, but I have a couple of issues with it from what I've seen. First of all the cape is just too much. Especially the way it bunches up around the shoulders. It makes it look like he has a tablecloth tied around his neck. Second, the figure itself looks a tad too small to me. For example, I noticed in your comparison shots that most of the DCUC figures were larger than this figure. And lastly at nearly $100 it really does not appear to be 5 times better than a lot of the $20 figures I've seen. I don't own this figure, so to be fair I really can't judge it 100%. I can only go by what I've seen from online reviews. Maybe if I had it in hand I would change my opinion.
All valid observations. The comparisons may not show it very well but he really only is a butt hair smaller than DCUC. You really don't notice it when they are together. I totally understand your taste for the cape.
