They have neither shape, nor smell, nor form. You can't see them, hear them or touch them. But believe me that when they move somewhere, you better listen to the forest whisper to avoid them.
Painting of Albert Bierstadt, one of my favorite painter in this world. He belonged to the Hudson River School as Thomas Cole. You can find a painting of Thomas Cole in the mix "Fallen Gods and Burning Empires" by Atrium Carceri. Bierstadt's work inspires me everytime I paint a landscape, thinking about how to give the feeling that the mountain is the highest element of the composition. It's not just on the top of the canvas, this is a hard exercise. I'm making a study of one of his paintings in pastel, I'll show you. Nice mix as always
Bierstadt slays, Cole slays -- don't miss John Martin, Caspar David Friedrick, David Roberts, and Jean Leon Gerome if you don't know them yet. Any I'm missing? I'm always keeping one open for new painters.
Perfect music for the Forgotten Realms, I can just envision this as the High Forest with the alipine Star Mounts standing tall in the centre of the untamed ancient forest. The Unicorn Run's waters cutting forth from the secret valley as a waterfall and carving it's channel between the trees, bringing the icy cool water from the peaks and nourishing the wildlife throughout the entire south of the forest.
Carpathian forest... Where the trees are endless... Forest titans fall to rest... A bed is made for the queen... Mushrooms gather in circles... Where bears walk... Dereliction houses dark spirits... A comet falls deep into darkness... Stones rise in circles... Where drums roar... Water whispers vibrating... People dance under the moon... In circles... Bone to Rune... Skull to Dust... Ice melts the thoughts of the gods... Root promises blossom...
I can listen to this to study, sleep, to feeling relaxed, to cry or forget all the shit in my head. So, thanks for being the dark and bright side on You Tube (Sorry this bad english!)
Let's be honest, it's mostly the dark side, but there's nothing wrong with that. Awesome musics for relaxing/focusing/hating on the world. This channel is great
I will thumb you up too Jace cause One your girlfriends sneaky, and two, your brave cause I think your girlfriend slapped you in the back of the head typing that.
I was doing something else while listening to this, but then I started noticing the music, closed my eyes, and felt so much at peace. Thank you, this is beautiful
This goes well with my cornflakes. There should be a mix for Ancient Cereal and Forgotten Milk. 'There were faint whispers heard around the house at the more dreary hours of the day, voices bemoaning their dread of the rumoured Forgotten Milk, deep, deep in the icy depths of the Electrolux, on a shelf whose very existence few people dared acknowledge and yet fewer still dared explore. Hidden beyond the bio-yoghurt and the bitter salad which someone listlessly had bought just because it was healthy, things which no one had ever really desired yet none had found the resolve to throw away, beyond these, in the innermost recesses where the line between food and household appliance became blurred, where food and fridge merged in an oozy, green, ice-crystal speckled crust, something stirred... Those who knew dared not speak, they tried in vain to forget, for a void had appeared in their chests, a vacuum rimmed with the asphyxiated scream of the drowned, slowly draining away the light in their eyes and the very juice running through their limbs. Those who spoke instead, who nervously shared the uneasy rumours, had not seen and thus could not know, yet in the quiet household all of them wordlessly felt in their soul that whatever it was it had gone too far now, it had grown beyond their physical reach and could no longer be stopped simply by throwing something away, having broken free from the bondage of the recycled-carton container and the very fabric of space-time itself, none of them would never be rid of its taint...'
This reminded my of my old room mates, only it never got as far as the fridge, They left it on the counter to percolate, gestate even, into something far fouler.
Up on the canopy, the misty sounds of the setting sun tremble in the branches. A dark ominous fog dawns upon the woods as the light becomes rare. As we descend in the forest, moving shadows and morphing shapes appear to dance in a silent and cold ceremony. The trees are singing. The rocks and grasses also join in the movement. As the branches, the bark, the roots slowly spiral into crystalized form, the fog becomes denser and echoes are heard throughout the forest. Underground is a pulsating force, making itself appear as the woods bursts into this music. The Earth is alive.

12:00 Riperian forest...OMG so good...always play it when I go into my local exotic plant store (huge maze with tunnels and paths) and let myself get lost. We don't have much of a jungle up here in the north hehe
When I go through a bout of depression, listening to this makes me feel nothing, as if all that matters is surviving, nothing else. So it eases not just depression, but everything good and bad simultaneously.
When I'm on the crapper and I hear the sploosh, ...the log somehow stops in time as it touches the water and the echo reverberates across space and time. The future past and present come together all at once and all of the logs I've taken become one. This newly formed log from all times becomes aware of itself and fades into another dimension....
Funny enough I prefer the "not so dark" stuff from Cryo Chamber, but the outlandish sounds of weird distant planets, deserts, forests. This mix for me is perfect.
These dales are a place where Cernunnos and Morrigan once walked. A sacred place where the old gods worshiped deities older than this earth. An ancient place that eternally whispers its still warning. A place that shall never be tamed.
I just did Tolvald's Cave in Skyrim with this playing. Imagine at 40:57 going deeper and deeper into the guts of a cave lighted by nightmarish green halo, infested with malevolent blind creatures.
Where my fellow creative minds at? I've read a few good stuffs already and Im so glad there's this side of YT, keep up the creativity people! ~ Greetings from this side of the sea
"As the leaves drift from the forest's crowns to the earth which they first sprout from, in colors old and new, you may feel the serene quiet of the woods. But beneath the dirt, these oaks exchange messages about us; and as your curiosity drives further away from the edge, you will begin to hear them louder and clearer." The student peeled his focus from the hermit, peering into the deepening thickets, past the twirling maroon, orange, and yellow that rained to the forest's floor, like flakes of snow; his visual clarity being lost among plant-life. "Oh," he replied, "and what do they say?" "Leave."
The horror aspect of this ambience is when we go from being in a blissful tranquil forested place, and then suddenly removed from it and placed into the center of grand central station. Beautiful track though.
Thinking back to her earlier childhood, she remembered where she had found solace and it wasn't in the people around her physically.. it was within what she saw much further away.. those who had brought her comfort without ever knowing of her existence.. those who had sang and soothed her soul.. or who had shown her that life did exist out of what she had been going through. Sending messages of hope and to not lose that sense of adventure no matter what came her way. There were days she had felt almost crushed beneath the weight of what she couldn't explain.. yet God always showed her what she needed to see.. even if others couldn't see it.. they who had never met her had still strengthened her through their own life's choices. Offering her a way to not be so entrapped within the physical circumstances.. sharing their own visons.. for was that not what tele vision was? A place for the visionary to display their own understanding with those who were willing to see and listen? Allowing them to be challenged or see a new possible consideration for what either has been or could be or is going to be?? She could not just hate all she had loved and helped her grow as a person believing they to be irredeemable.. Not only allowing a vision to be seen once.. but in some cases placed upon the heart.. in others the ability to re-watch and remember the why's and who's and how's.. ..once again she felt the stirrings within.. from deep below.. how she despised the religious attitudes toward those she cared about for all those years.. She had been angry with the dominant ways of America.. that is true.. but started to consider was her anger misdirected .. maybe it should have been at the laziness of Australians.. or rather the media moguls themselves.. for limiting her own nations talents from sharing their visions.. All she wanted was balanced approach.. yet it seemed America had been her influence more than Australia .. she missed the Australian movies that represented what she knew .. Still being able to refer to those whom she loved but it was as if she lived in an alternate universe at times because there was a lot of interweaving between the two. What about other nations.. was she not allowed to see their visions unless through the American perspective? Nowadays she couldn't even watch the television because of the damage caused by the greedy and selfishness of others.
Sounds about right, still. I guess that even if you have changed your profile name, it won’t change your name on old comments if they’re over a certain number of years old. Because this is me, and for some reason it never updated, even though UA-cam has changed my name on younger comments. It won’t let me edit or delete it (not that I planned on it), since somehow it doesn’t know that I’m the same account/profile. Weird.
I woke up in a place called Deadman's Valley. My head was kinda bloody, blunt force trauma I guess, but from what? Fortunately I was near a road, or a freeway of some kind. Apparently this region is an economic oasis, what with a thriving timber industry and coal mines that seem to never run out, least that's what the woman- named Dia- who picked me up in her truck about 30 minutes ago told me. I was confused though, and things weren't quite... right? The music on the radio was odd. It Wasn't any band I'd ever heard, but That's not the most odd thing. I had no cell signal out here. And then I finally thought to myself, that considering the valley was apparently made up of several small towns and a larger city at the epicenter, I wondered why I'd never heard of it. I turned to the woman and asked "So, Dia, where in the U.S. is deadman's valley? Where is this exactly?" She looked at me in confusion as we came to a stop sign "Pardon me, son, but where in the where?" Her accent was like a southern drawl, but unlike one that came out of the deep South. It wasn't traditional or familiar at all, there was something missing from it. "The U.S. ya know, the country?" She just stared at me like I had 3 heads. "The UNITED STATES. America, the country we live in. Like, are you not from around here?" "I'm not trying to be rude or call ya crazy, but what in hell is the United States?" Suddenly the car stopped. The Dia was looking ghost faced directly outside the windshield. There was a person, bigger than any I'd ever seen, standing about 20 feet from us. I couldn't see the person, except for the long ragged pants, and boots. The rest of the figure was concealed by a long tattered poncho. "The hell is that?" "Mason, that's your name right?" "Yes." "There's a revolver in the glove compartment, sweetheart, can you hand it to me?" I looked down at her hand, she was trembling. The color hadn't returned to her face either. I quickly unlatched the glove box and pulled out the weapon within. I was very familiar with firearms, my parents had taken me hunting since I was little. This revolver was not familiar however. Before I could look at it any further, Dia slowly removed it from my hand. There was some thunder in the distance. "Mason, I'm going to get out, and you scoot over to the driver's seat. If that thing moves, or I pull the trigger, you floor it." "What?" "There's a town less than 5 miles from here, you go there and..." "Lady I don't even know you," I hissed "I don't know what is going on or where I am. Could you at least..." She put her hand over my mouth, and hissed right back "Do you wanna die today?" I shook my head slowly. "Then get in the driver seat." She slid out of the truck and checked to make sure her revolver was loaded. Then slowly started towards the cloaked figure. There was a light pitter of rain beginning to fall. "Hey, big one! I'm gonna need to ask politely to move!" She yelled at the imposing individual. There was a deep, low rumble, that I could feel rattle in my bones. Was it coming from the person? Dis began raising her gun "Look, we don't want your kind here, I'm giving you 3 seconds to move. One!" Suddenly the figure looked up. Were those glowing, fire engine red spots eyes? "Two!" The ground shook as the thing took several steps. Dia wouldn't make it to three. The monster rammed the truck. I was ejected through the rear window and Dia thrown backwards by the force of the impact. I tumbled but regained my bearings quickly. Had to be adrenaline, because that impact could not have been kind to my body. The figure raised a hand over the crumbled and unconscious Dia. She was too far, I wouldn't make it. But then I saw her revolver. Just as the creature was about to crush her, I bolted for the firearm. As I dove for the gun, the beast stopped, and turned to me. I primed the weapon, and rather than stand I remained kneeling. I steadied my hand as the creature started to move in my direction. I was scared shitless. There was no time to think about how crazy this was, or how none of it made sense, I either lived or died. And I was damn sure not gonna die today. I exhaled, and pulled the trigger...
Within the dark forest, hidden away from the world for eons was a temple. It's silence indicative of the type of rituals that should not be mentioned for it would stir attention towards its smooth stone doors. Rituals used to better understand man's complacency to fate, all to appease the horned god whose mouth was said to possess tentacled fangs that could reach into the very fabric of eternity and alter your life so long as you pledged your soul to it.
That first couple of minutes is more surreal than anything I've heard in awhile. It reminds me of the pure land of buddah. A world beyond thought. A blissful and otherworldly experience that I wish I could remain. Divorced from identity, divorced from all persona. To me that is true freedom.
With just three sentences, you have written something more evocative and masterful than any of the 7 paragraph "masterpieces" that lesser beings have included. Respect.
@DT is not making videos anymore. DT is out I appreciate your compliment, however it is difficult to write them suddenly, but if I think of any I shall write them here
That background image had an AT-AT Walker (from Star Wars), I even had it as a screensaver. 😆 I'm not sure if it was added afterwards, or the original had the AT-AT and they edited it out.
When you are roaming around a dark forest, a cold breeze is grazing your face, a distant bird is calling its partner, and then a stepstone advertisement is screaming from behind ...
I used to have this painting and got it introduced to me by another classical music playlist on youtube, does anyone know who made it? Would be great if there could always be info in the description! Other than that cheers for more study music! Edit: its Albert Bierstadt Among the Sierra Nevada mountains en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Bierstadt#/media/File:Albert_Bierstadt__-Among_the_Sierra_Nevada,_California-__Google_Art_Project.jpg
When you delve deep into the wood, you will find things that man has forgotten.
But these things have not forgotten man.
They certainly remember. And nothing will make them forget.
They have neither shape, nor smell, nor form. You can't see them, hear them or touch them. But believe me that when they move somewhere, you better listen to the forest whisper to avoid them.
Algernon Blackwood?

@@Rhinoch8 Lucifer and his angels are always lurking in the darkness--even in the woods.
Interesting, that the more "happy" and elevated i am, the better this deep dark atmosphere feels. Its like going back to myself.

I never thought in my life I would get so deep into dark ambient. Now here I am.
IMHO, Riparian Forest is one of the BEST BEST BEST ambient track ever, the atmosphere is
Right now: A stroll through a quiet little wood, the sound of rushing water in the distance.
Up next: Let's summon the old gods!
A toast to the old gods! We need them now more than ever.
The two often happen in close conjunction.

I looked down at her hand, she was trembling.
If that thing moves, or I pull the trigger, you floor it."
"What?"
"There's a town less than 5 miles from here, you go there and..."
"Lady I don't even know you," I hissed "I don't know what is going on or where I am. Could you at least..."
She put her hand over my mouth, and hissed right back "Do you wanna die today?"
I shook my head slowly.
"Then get in the driver seat."
She slid out of the truck and checked to make sure her revolver was loaded.
One!"
Suddenly the figure looked up. Were those glowing, fire engine red spots eyes?
"Two!"
The ground shook as the thing took several steps.
Amazing. Where is this from, and where can I find more?
@@adaisychain4azathoth I wrote it on the fly while listening to this mix. Coming back to it now I feel like I could've done a better job.
I just wanted to tell you I thoroughly enjoyed reading that at almost 3am..perfect class of commentary for these lush soundscapes
Not at all bad for writing on the fly.. Even if it weren't
@@tarekwayne9193 thank you very much!
Superb mix this one Simon, lots of good field recordings wended in to put one in the environs
This shit really underrated
My head....what did you put in this music? It’s like a dream....gosh, I love it.... 😖😖
Almost as good as the mixes themselves; the mysterious and deep comments
awesome!
Thanks for this great content! 👏🏻 ✨ 💘
in the deep forest, were there are people who still worship the old gods
those who engage in rituals
Have you seen the movie The Ritual?.. if not, you should! ;)
@@Noksivs thanks for recommendation, already downloading it, love movies like that
I believe they are called pagans :)
Literally get lost in this music.
If it wasn't marked 'Forbidden'
...I wouldn't have opened it!
It reminds me Final station
Also At the Mountains of Madness
I can focus better to study than with any other musical genre
That first couple of minutes is more surreal than anything I've heard in awhile. It reminds me of the pure land of buddah. A world beyond thought. A blissful and otherworldly experience that I wish I could remain. Divorced from identity, divorced from all persona. To me that is true freedom.

My home is as it should be
Bleak and open expanse
With just three sentences, you have written something more evocative and masterful than any of the 7 paragraph "masterpieces" that lesser beings have included.
Respect.
@@gone41214 I thank you friend :>
@DT is not making videos anymore. DT is out I appreciate your compliment, however it is difficult to write them suddenly, but if I think of any I shall write them here

1:20 oh no, that bird call.. The Kauai O'o, the last mating call of his species...
Perfect
That background image had an AT-AT Walker (from Star Wars), I even had it as a screensaver. 😆 I'm not sure if it was added afterwards, or the original had the AT-AT and they edited it out.

Is that the song of the extinct Kauai O'o bird?
At the beginning, no. It's a wood thrush. Eastern US.
When you are roaming around a dark forest, a cold breeze is grazing your face, a distant bird is calling its partner, and then a stepstone advertisement is screaming from behind ...
At Midday through the journey of life, i found myself lost in a forest...
I used to have this painting and got it introduced to me by another classical music playlist on youtube, does anyone know who made it? Would be great if there could always be info in the description! Other than that cheers for more study music!
Edit: its Albert Bierstadt Among the Sierra Nevada mountains
