I’m sharing my skin cancer story today plus chatting about other life happenings. I’d love to hear more about you & how you are doing!! For links about Curaderm, head here: womenlivingtorah.com/2024/10/28/skin-cancer-on-my-face-pictures/
Will be praying for you. I dont have cancer but i do have 3 or 4 masses that the doctors are keeping a close eye on. May Abba heal you and keep you safe during this season of life.
@WomenLivingTorah is there anything that i can do to help. Prayer is definitely a given. And if its ok with you can i add you to a torah womans prayer list?
Also- the light pink spot on my forehead in the video is what the spot looks like after the biopsy. I forgot to take a thumbnail picture and then started my treatment, which is the white tape in the thumbnail photo (first day of treatment pic). The spot is starting to open up- larger than it was as a little bump. And it does sting. 😓 But, the stinging means it’s working! 🙏
Thank you for sharing your story. I was diagnosed with skin cancer two weeks ago. I had the procedure to remove it. It was something I couldn’t have thought was cancer. Mine was flesh colored and raised ever so slightly. Had it for eight years on my leg. It recently had started to change. Came back as cancer. What are you deciding to out on the area as it heals? I really would like to use my tallow balm but my dermatologist said to wait 30 days and use the antibiotic ointment.
For the biopsy spot healing, I used petroleum jelly with a bandaid for the first two weeks to keep the area moist and prevent scarring as much as possible. I think it did a great job! The spot is just a little pink, as new skin is. I don’t usually recommend petroleum jelly- in fact, this was the first I’ve bought it. But I wanted a barrier that would sit on top of my skin & not soak in. Normally, I’d use beeswax with a little olive oil (like a salve without herbs), but I was out of beeswax to make it at the time. My skin salve that I use for most other things is antibacterial because of the herbs, and my dermatologist said that antibacterial can actually make scarring a little worse (even though it’s good for infection). After I finish the Curaderm treatment, I am planning (as of right now) to use a silicone gel or patch plus rose oil to help with scarring/diminishing pinkness in the new skin. Many blessings to you!!
I’m so glad you are sharing this. I’ve had it too and keep track of things. I hope more ladies keep track of their spots, tags and bumps. It’s nice to keep on top of them and it’s worth it. Yah bless! Praying treatments goes well. Please share what you can about it. There are so many treatments these days.
I’m praying for you, Raquel. I pray peace, comfort, and total healing-without more physical procedures. And little to know pain with the cream/ointment you purchased. May your healing be quick! 🧡🤗🕊🙌🏻🧡
Praying for your healing. I too went through skin cancer (also basil cell) and had to get 12 stiches on my face during mohs surgery. I was blessed to have a wonderful surgeon, and the scar is barely noticeable, and I am cancer free. Mine started as what looked like a pimple also. Thank you for talking about this on your channel. So many people won't get annual skin cancer checks which are very important. Recurrence IS common so it is important to have regular skin checks a couple times a year for several years.
Thank you for sharing your experience! 😊 I think part of the reason why we don’t schedule skin checks is because it can feel embarrassing, thinking about someone looking over every inch of your skin- but my dermatologist was so friendly and literally talked the whole time. Haha 😆 It was also really fast! I imagined it would take a long time to look over a person’s whole body, thus extending the embarrassment, but it was maybe 5 minutes total. It was too fast to feel embarrassed, haha.
@@vee9133 I have had no recurrence. I did have to be monitored every three months for the first year then twice a year after that for another year. Its been a few years and nothing for me. i'm back to a once annual skin check. I've been lucky because the doctor did tell me recurrance is common. If you don't remove it you run the risk of the mohs surgery needing to go so deep that you need reconstructive surgery. they only had to go down one layer for surgery for me so the surgery was less invasive.
@@vee9133 also, the increased risk of recurrence does not have to do with it being removed, it is just by having basil cell carcinoma - that makes you more likely to get it again. (at least that is what the doctor told me)
@@WomenLivingTorah truth...not the most comfortable experience to have someone look you over like that lol. I have a female dermatologist which makes a huge difference for me. The person who did my mohs was male but it was on my face so no big deal , but the skin checks much better for a woman with female doc :)
Shalom Rachel. I just had skin cancer removed. I knew I had it for several years, but didn't have the finances or insurance to deal with it. I have an incision from the top to the bottom front of my shoulder. It started as a mole that started turning funky after a sunburn I got in Arizona when I had first moved there. Fortunately, Basal cell Carcinoma, not a melanoma. I pray for you to heal fast from your treatment!
Shalom Sis! I am praying for you and your family. I know Yahweh is in control of all of life's bumps and setbacks. I homeschool too. Homeschooling my last child and now my grandkids. So it's been so much fun and an experience for sure. Through trials, we learn what we are made of . And the Father had made us to be overcomers. So if it's the challenge of homeschooling or being a mama , or bigger things that we are met with we will overcome all with peace . He is our peace and strength. And that's awesome beyond words. I want chickens so badly. But we have an army of cats out here that I've seen stalk neighbors' chickens in the past. So I'm scared I may lose them. I'm thinking on ways to keep chickens safe . You look and seem so happy Sis!! You always seem to radiate the Father's strength. And you are such a role model to me. Thank you for that, and hugs to you!!🙂
My comment didn’t go through. 😫 So I’ll write a briefer version. Haha Amen! I am so thankful YHVH is our peace!!! 🙌 I love that you are homeschooling your grandchildren in addition to your own!! I am sure they are SO blessed because of you & the wisdom you have!!! 💕 We’ve had our own cats around our chickens, and we’ve also had a bunch of feral cats that would come around our chickens (to eat their food scraps.) It was never a problem, except when we had kittens and chicks! The kittens never killed the chicks, but only because we had them secured in a brooder with fencing on all sides and top. But the kittens would literally salivate, watching the chicks. Their eyes were staring intently, and they’d be in their little crouch position…. They would have definitely tried to catch the chicks, if they could have. Hopefully, you won’t have any issue with cats and chickens- or at least will be able to come up with a secure home for them!! 🤗
@WomenLivingTorah I hope I can figure something out. Coyotes out here too. But I'm determined to have fresh eggs!! Lol Anyways, thank you for replying to me! See ya Sis!
My husband (78) has a very large (most of his scalp) basal cell and had 2 squamous cell on chin. He has been dealing with skin cancer for probably 30+yrs…the first was a MOHs surgery on his back, then multiple office removals mostly on torso. He’s been using Curaderm for 2 months now. BC I’m the one applying it 2x day, I’ve seen improvements on the area we first began treating. Be prepared for a great deal of pain. School is great although I'm in basic school mode, so no history or science at this time, I enjoy history the most so it's a bummer but seasons change and we will get back to it. Thank you so much for the prayers!! I’m not aware of anyone else in my family having skin cancer. They say BCC is related to skin damage and sun exposure as a child. I am fair skinned, and I do remember having a few sunburns that peeled on my forehead- but I wouldn’t say they ever blistered. I was raised mostly in public school, and our family didn’t usually take vacations or go swimming, etc, so I spent very little time outside in the sun as a kid/teen, honestly. 🤷♀️ Wow!! They did remove the spot & checked the margins. They did not get it all from that procedure, so they scheduled me for MOHS surgery.
