"Like, if I had to bury a body, Serge, I would not call you because it would make you upset. But I know that you would help me if I asked. You'd be like 'I'll help you because I'm a nice person but I'm very disappointed in you, but I'm not surprised.'"
Just found this commander game I had missed before when going thru the back catalog. So writing this on 16th May 2021. Still holds up half way thru the vid, I must say this game is fantastic. The people involved are genuinely hilarious. So apart from being here for the engagement as is my right. I would like to say my endless thanks to the lrr peeps infront and behind the cameras. Take care all. Regards.
1:10:57 Wild ride. I shared Serge's joy and felt his pain! So many of my Commander nights go that way at some point. Worth it for the small number of times where it does actually work!
As a former Daretti player, it hurt me physically to see Ben block that attack with Goblin Welder. You can always recast your Daretti with all that artifact based manaramp, but you're never getting that sweet Welder back :(
I realize that they are playing for fun, but: That moment when no one remembers how Chandra, torch of Defiance works. You have to choose to cast it immediately. Once you have exiled the card, you are in middle of an effect resolving and cannot even flash can allow you to interrupt the choice.
As much as I don’t like the 10 million misplays that occurred in this game, I enjoy watching the fun people have when they’re just playing casually. I need to play casually more often.
PART OF Kathleen's Deck (From Following ON the show) Sorry if there's typos. I wrote them down while watching Commander: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant 1) Spider Spawning 2) Golgari Gravetroll 3) Forest 4) Swamp 5) Sunken Ruins 6) Dreg Mangler 7) Island 8) Fetid Pools 9) Temple of Mystery 10) Skaab Ruinator 11) Polluted Delta 12) Island 13) Vigor Mortis 14) Underground River 15) Shambling Shell 16) Darkmoor Salvage 17) Swamp 18) Necoplasm 19) Swamp 20) Worm Harvest 21) Forest 22) Phyrexian Delver 23) Putrid Imp 24) Call of the Herd 25) Avatar of Woe 26) Murderous Cut 27) Ulamog, Ceaseless hunger 28) Think Twice 29) Go for the Throat 30) Sunken Hollow 31) Sensei's Diving Top 32) Preordain 33) Forest 34) Crypt of Agadeem 35) Putrefy **So you can plan out around 50 cards if you factor in basic lands... You will have to ask LRR or Ben for the rest. Or make your own from this base. Wish they had of posted full deck-lists!**
Sundering Titan, Primeval Titan, and Sylvan Primordial are banned for repeatable land destruction/ramp on a stick that basically erases opposing lands and leaves you with enormous bodies while simultaneously ramping you. Apparently mass land destruction isn't fun unless you're playing Armageddon or Decree of Annihilation style effects. But I think the banned list will get revisited for those 3, Protean Hulk was unbanned only a year ago and it hasn't broken the format yet.
Can anyone link me to the decklist that Kathleen was playing? I tried going to their twitch and that broadcast date, but couldn't find the VOD. I'd really appreciate it!
vestigia di dakmor, la vestigia di dakmor entra nel cmpo tappata, tap: aggiungi B, dragare 2. this is what dakmor salvage looks like in italian and it's magnificent
37:30 Why not put Sidisi into the yard, then exile her and 2 other creatures for the skaab? You can then put Sidisi back into the command zone off paying the cost.
Serge you mentioned that Ben might be able to cast omnath using mana rocks There's an obscure rule in commander, a weird replacement effect: if you would add mana to your mana pool that isn't in your commander's colour identity, it becomes colourless. In other words, there's literally no way to cast spells or activate abilities not in the identity of your 'mander, unless you're not paying thier mana cost at all. Also isn't commander tax technically on cast, not on death?
The Replacement Effect you are talking about has been discontinued since Oath of the Gatewatch introduced the Colorless Mana Symbol and Colorless Costs. So that rule has been taken out like 2 Years ago. :)
LRR, great work with the new info pane. Love it. How about a "# of cards in hand" in the info pane? It's a big factor in who has advantage at any given time.
I mentioned this is the PPR video, but with it having over 4 thousand comments wanting that Dominaria box, it probably wasn't the best place to state it. An idea for a Highlander game sesh...you're only able to use cards from Revised up to Tenth Edition. Or you could increase that to include M11-M15 and Origins, but keeping it strictly base Core sets. At least with Revised you'll still be able to use the original duals to help fixing, but you won't have the insanely broken cards from Alpha, Beta, and Unlimited. Just an idea.
I enjoy their videos. Have used their card kingdom donation twice. They keep forgetting my button but I don't really think I need a button. Will continue to support to help them keep the lights on.
If Serge had enough life to use the Reservoir (and not kill himself), he could make it a creature with his commander, give it lifelink, and kill everyone at the table.
They actually caught it in the video. I also main Omnath, so I know this rule by heart. But going to the command zone is a replacement effect which means that omnath never dies. It's why Elenda isn't as busted as she could be
Omnath did indeed go to the graveyard, not expecting to get another turn James elected to send it there rather than replace to the Command Zone so it would do that damage.
federico zacchi Well you do it just in case you don't need 4 mana for anything else that turn. So next turn, you have a free 4 mana. But he just ends us spending all of it every turn. That's why its a little confusing.
Yeah that's what i'm saying, when i play with mana vault i choose to untap it if i don't have anything better to do with that 4 mana, so that next turn i'm ahead on mana. Obviously you can't always predict what you're going to draw, but using the vault every turn is as if you never played it in the first place
I love their commander gameplay. It is always fun to watch and educative (btw, how is that judge tower coming along). Powerful magic happening there. Generally, everyone is having fun and it's not super competetive. This game felt like everybody won, because every deck got to do what it wanted to do. I enjoy that a lot :)
Wait what did Kathleen say about getting a button? She said it really fast lol Is it just for using the affiliate link? And i kinda want those big dice lol
"Like, if I had to bury a body, Serge, I would not call you because it would make you upset. But I know that you would help me if I asked. You'd be like 'I'll help you because I'm a nice person but I'm very disappointed in you, but I'm not surprised.'"
"Graveyard is just another name for library!" I need this on a t-shirt...
Also on a playmat
To non-MtG people it looks like you're insane...
Just reading my book at a graveyard here, nothing special, move along!
GY is another word for (In-)Hand in my decks ;)
The ultimate blind commander: Begin with your commander face down, but someone has written the mana cost on a peace of paper.
Also, put every card in the sleeve backwards, with a piece of paper saying the mana cost, and if it has flash or is an instant.
They would never do this, nope never ever. They totally haven’t already done this. Nope never.
Man it would make my LIFE just to play commander with this amazing people they helped me through so much
1:16:30 Serge's reaction during the whole Hedron Arhcive/Mind Stone interaction was fantastic.
Serge is such a nice dude. I love that sort of energy at the table.
Love the Serge perking up when he hears lands deck then frowning when he realizes Ben was telling James.
“How hot do you want it Ben?”
-Serge 2018
KDawg “Ben just made his O-face”-Serge 2018
36:35
Serge confusingly stares at a hand full of sliced cheese. He's not sure how he didn't notice the change from cards to cheese.
"Can we trust you to undo your top?" - This almost became a whole different video!!
I'd watch that.
1:10:57 Wild ride. I shared Serge's joy and felt his pain! So many of my Commander nights go that way at some point. Worth it for the small number of times where it does actually work!
I see James is no longer Commander champion.
F
1:14:50
Ben: I will pay three...errr... four to untap my mana vault.
James: "Pay Four" you say? Let me just adjust your life total for you.

Ben gets salty at serge for blowing up his mana crypt, after he blew up Serge's sol ring.
serges cost Mana Ben's did not so Ben lost less
Serge saying, "How hot do you want it?" made me tingle.
Serge is always upbeat and super cool. I wanna play commander with LRR!
Same
I noticed this video got uploaded 5 hours after I commented that I couldn't find it anywhere. I definately am taking credit for this. YAAS thank you!
But were the decks made by Director Kyle?
Nah, no one was casting lands
Monkeymeister oof
#teamgreenforever
keetakitten Yes! #TeamGreen forever~
I don't get the joke, could someone fill me in on the reference so that I can check it out?
"You don't have to say much, just give us the number for how much James would have taken." "Three." "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Of all the edh games I watch online it seems you guys have the most fun. Never stop stopping.
As a former Daretti player, it hurt me physically to see Ben block that attack with Goblin Welder. You can always recast your Daretti with all that artifact based manaramp, but you're never getting that sweet Welder back :(
Another great video! I can't believe I missed such great content! Everyone here is on fire!
How does an Omnath deck get mana screwed?
by not having land
I realize that they are playing for fun, but:
That moment when no one remembers how Chandra, torch of Defiance works.
You have to choose to cast it immediately. Once you have exiled the card, you are in middle of an effect resolving and cannot even flash can allow you to interrupt the choice.
and chandra also damages EACH opponent with her first ability

Did anyone notice "Sydri, artifact stuff"?
*sees mono red deck built by Serge
Does it have kitchen Finks?

2:08:00 PURPHROUS HAS AN ACTIVATED ABILITY
Did anyone else notice at 1:14:54 that james put ben down 4 life when ben said "I pay 4" and tapped his mana lmao
The deck lists were in chat but not in the description. I want to play whatever it was Kathleen was running, holy crap!
Ben's Deck = tappedout.net/mtg-decks/s-p-i-c-y/
James's Deck = tappedout.net/mtg-decks/omnath-land-friends/
Kathleen's Deck = tappedout.net/mtg-decks/25-01-18-sidisi-graveyard/
Serge's Deck = tappedout.net/mtg-decks/sydri-artifact-stuff/
What is the scanning app they are using to load it on the screen?
Paul nowadays
Why block with goblin welder, it does same thing as Daretti and could not be swung at, he could of used it to bring back something after casting Ugin.
James with the Hamilton reference, my man
Ben: "I'm gonna -2 Daretti." Moves him from 5 loyalty to 4.
Mark Harland he corrects it around 50 minute mark when Kathleen gets worms haha
He didn't take back the extra land he played that turn
Skaab Ruinator is good; when Innastrad was in standard I ran a reanimation shell with Sun Titian into Phantasmal Image into Skaab Ruinator
vestigia di dakmor, la vestigia di dakmor entra nel cmpo tappata, tap: aggiungi B, dragare 2.
this is what dakmor salvage looks like in italian and it's magnificent
Props for the subtle Hamilton musical nod, mister Turner Mulligan.
2:41:05 Unless you can only play with competitive or semi-competitive players, then you'll have to compete with tuned combo decks.
37:30 Why not put Sidisi into the yard, then exile her and 2 other creatures for the skaab? You can then put Sidisi back into the command zone off paying the cost.
I really appreciate the color coded sleeves
"8 worms in a trench coat"...Kathleen has my sense of humor :D
Devotion counts ALL permanents not OTHER permanents
Was the intro messed up for anyone else? It was cutting and freezing for me :/
2:11:20 Serge's hiccup is so cute
I wish I knew the deck list for the Sidisi deck 😭 it looks so fun to play
Serge you mentioned that Ben might be able to cast omnath using mana rocks

Half a year later:...are the deck lists available online? Sidisi is, like, at least in my top 5 of my favourite commanders ^^
Wait. WHY ISNT SERGE PLAYING THE LANDS DECK?
Because he's playing the Shops deck, duh
"thats why retrace is not coming back as a mechanic" wizards in 2019 prints a planeswalker that emblems and prints a retrace emblem
When will the decklists be available? I'd like to see them for inspiration for a new dekc of mine
Love your setup! Especially the colour coordination!
"Is Karn really that much of a concern right now?" This must be the only time LRR plays Commander.
Serge and Kathleen should have made the Hammer into a creature then used the Avatar of Woe to nuke it.
Around 50:00 , This is why you always put silver bullets in your decks
LRR, great work with the new info pane. Love it. How about a "# of cards in hand" in the info pane? It's a big factor in who has advantage at any given time.
Been doing this for years... just found out this is where it came from
Are there decklists somewhere?
Great game, I loved watching this one! Keep it up guys!

"He's got a convenience store on the board!" ROFL
Does anyone have the links to the decklists?
What's the deck list for the Artifact deck?
The amount of cash serge sunk into the deck Ben is playing, is absurd. That's more than my rent for 4 month. Holy shit it's powerful
what do u guys use to scan your card and display on screen?
I enjoy their videos. Have used their card kingdom donation twice. They keep forgetting my button but I don't really think I need a button. Will continue to support to help them keep the lights on.
Serge: "Can we trust you to undo your top?" XD
If Serge had enough life to use the Reservoir (and not kill himself), he could make it a creature with his commander, give it lifelink, and kill everyone at the table.
2:32:00 Kathleen does not take 3 as Omnath did not die, but went to the command zone
GentlemenBastex I think he does then goes to the command zone
They actually caught it in the video. I also main Omnath, so I know this rule by heart. But going to the command zone is a replacement effect which means that omnath never dies.
It's why Elenda isn't as busted as she could be
Omnath did indeed go to the graveyard, not expecting to get another turn James elected to send it there rather than replace to the Command Zone so it would do that damage.
Ben, I put 19 lands in my Narset Commander, granted it’s narset
was this before the rules change for planewalkers?
I have 14 commander decks and working on another 3 decks all my generals are foil
Can link the decklists here on youtube as well?
Ben's Deck = tappedout.net/mtg-decks/s-p-i-c-y/

tappedout.net/mtg-decks/25-01-18-sidisi-graveyard/
Mishra's Workshop is worth 3-4 grand now!!!
1:49:34 Agreed, James. I'm so tired.
That card scanner is cool
How does ben use mana vault? Every turn he pays 4 to untap it, then taps it again to gain 3, falling short of 1 mana every time
federico zacchi Well you do it just in case you don't need 4 mana for anything else that turn.
I think its because, he had so much mana, it just started to become like, well, might as well spend mana on something. 😂
Omnath + Blade of Selves is always a fun combination
Marc Western I want to see him with the new helm
Oh gosh, I hadn't thought of that. That's a fun one. It does require a separate way to kill elementals or additional Omnaths, though, unlike Blade.
I don't see a problem with having 2 Omnaths
why do all of them have fades
Dominance
can you post the deck lists
Clanmanders Kathleen swapped in Acorn Harvest after the game.
Ben's Deck = tappedout.net/mtg-decks/s-p-i-c-y/
James's Deck = tappedout.net/mtg-decks/omnath-land-friends/
Kathleen's Deck = tappedout.net/mtg-decks/25-01-18-sidisi-graveyard/
Serge's Deck = tappedout.net/mtg-decks/sydri-artifact-stuff/
Ben had an artifact land out on the turn he said he no longer had an artifact to trigger Inventor's Fair.
No deck lists?
can I get a decklist for that sidisi deck
tappedout.net/mtg-decks/25-01-18-sidisi-graveyard/
Yes but the important question we all want to know. Is Kathleen running Acorn Harvest?
Mana Crypt is basically a lite version of Black Lotus. TCGplayer says it's worth $200. Where did you get it?
You buy it from tcg player?
Does anyone have the link to the Sydri list?
tappedout.net/mtg-decks/sydri-artifact-stuff/
Plays paradox engine. Passes turn. The following turn plays iceocron Sceptre with grape shot on it. GG.
Omnath, a deck with 50 lands or something.... James gets mana stuck
No matter how many lands one adds in a landfall deck it's never enough
Wait what did Kathleen say about getting a button? She said it really fast lol Is it just for using the affiliate link? And i kinda want those big dice lol
When Kathleen kills Graeme and asks Serge to help hide the body xD
