Serge turn one and freaking out over the command tower is so hilarious. Graham is like trying to calm him down like “it doesn’t tap for all 4 at once.” Lol
Commander tax rule 903.8. A player may cast a commander he or she owns from the command zone. A commander cast from the command zone costs an additional {2} for each previous time the player casting it has cast it from the command zone that game. You only pay it when you cast it from the command zone.
The discussion about yargle makes me inclined to clarify: when a commander is killed in combat or in any other way, it does not die unless its owner decides to put it into the graveyard. Going back to the command zone is a replacement effect and the creature never hits the graveyard, exile or the hand
1:52:32 Adam is the first to react, but everyone catches on to how broken Serge's deck is. Just rewinding over and over to these reactions. Gosh, Serge. Gosh.
So i know it has no effect on this game but lrr continually get this a little off when they play commander. The commander tax (the extra mana required to cast the commander from the command zone) is calculated by the number of times it has been cast from the command zone so far, not the number of times it has been killed and gone back there. Its a small detail but one that can come up in certain situations
I love Serge. Would definitely love to play a game with him. He seems like the type of person where even though you don't know the rules he is more than happy to explain them
Serge is so oblivious to Commander it's kind of adorable. Would definitely be good if you guys could put decklists in the description of future vids though :)
Just would like to point out that Norn the weary is an absolute beast of a commander, almost unkillable and triggers every etb effect almost every turn....
He's been missing from North 100 for a couple weeks, which makes me sad, but it's because he's been shooting Road Quest which I'm super stoked for so ... probably worth?
commander tax only ticks up when you send it to the command zone, because you only pay the additional tax when casting it from the command zone, it was when it died you'd never get taxed because sending it to the command zone is a replacement effect so it never actually dies.
Graham builds a jaya tribal deck, ben builds a flavor heavy phyrexia theme deck and a yargle deck for adam, and then surge builds a highly tuned sultai reanimator deck complete with 0 cost artifact ramp.... at least you have one of every classic mtg player archetype at the table.
Amazing customer service. I gave them the wrong address by a few letters and they sent me an email a few hours later to send the cards to the correct place
Is it possible to find the list serge use in this video. Or if serge could post the list some where that would be awesome. After watching a few times I’ve identified about 48-50 assuming basic land count. I guess that’s the base I’ll build from.
I feel like off-color hybrid should be allowed as long as one of the two colors is in your commander's identity. The point of hybrid mana is that the spells/creatures can be done in either mono color, i.e. Kitchen Finks could be mono white or mono green.
Hybrid is easier to cast, so if Kitchen Finks is ok, a monocoloured version is also okay. Maro himself says that hybrid should be allowed in commander if only one colour matches your identity.
Ok so 2 years too late but Graham if you still have this deck you may want to add a hammer mage it's a spellshaper that destroys artifacts really underrated card
I have a question would Primevals’ Glorious Rebirth, which brings legendaries back from the graveyard to the battlefield as long as you have a legendary on the field, would it bring back planeswalkers? Or only ones that say legendary?
"I Riddle of Lightning your Swarm Lord. I reveal... ALADDIN!!"
this was the best moment in Magic history.
Playing red always seems to lead to these great moments
39:55 for anyone wanna know
thanks
about 42:30 following the best moment by the best nickname
One step in front of the infect! I’m dead....
Whenever I see LRR do things and Ben is in them I am always impressed with his decks. Please give us "Ben builds" showing how he starts a deck
Gareth M great idea
Serge turn one and freaking out over the command tower is so hilarious. Graham is like trying to calm him down like “it doesn’t tap for all 4 at once.” Lol
That still only counts as one!
It’s actually refreshing in a weird way having someone like serge walking through the triggers so thoroughly.
If I recall correctly, Serge is the group's resident judge so he's simply putting to practice what he was trained to do. : )
He's a judge..
*Judge!!!!!*
I love that the story of Yargle is that a frog ate a maggot and became all powerful because of it
Adam is my favorite now because he is using Yargle
Commander tax rule 903.8. A player may cast a commander he or she owns from the command zone. A commander cast from the command zone costs an additional {2} for each previous time the player casting it has cast it from the command zone that game.
You only pay it when you cast it from the command zone.
Benjamin Lehman yes
Commander: a pillow fight where people bring out chainsaws occasionally.
Commander is my favorite format so seeing it from my favorite creators is always a treat
"Yargle I've come to Bargle" I forgot who first said that but I love that quote!!!!!!
It is so bizarre to me seeing people just having fun playing MTG. No arguments, no fist fights, no hurt feelings. Bizarre, and beautiful.
The discussion about yargle makes me inclined to clarify: when a commander is killed in combat or in any other way, it does not die unless its owner decides to put it into the graveyard. Going back to the command zone is a replacement effect and the creature never hits the graveyard, exile or the hand
Haha lul nowadays this is wrong 😂😂😂
Thank god they changed that stoopid rule
Adam getting the snipe with Yargle and a predator flagship of all cards is actually hype af.
Beginning of Video: Yargle is such a meme
Second game: YARGLE TURN THREE? We’re so dead!
The flavor value of playing Phyrexian Obliterator off an Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth is off the charts!
Adam Savidan and the Yarglin’ barglin’ no-blocky Bog Boys is the music phenomenon 2020 needs.
I love Adam even more now. This entire stream had me dying from the magical reveal of Aladdin from Graham to the jokes about Yargle. Please do more.
1:52:32 Adam is the first to react, but everyone catches on to how broken Serge's deck is. Just rewinding over and over to these reactions. Gosh, Serge. Gosh.
The spikiness of the decks starts at Graham and increases counterclockwise

who else died when aladdin was revealed?
Kayzenhyuga Norsk Gaming me.
Phyrexian Swarmlord sure did
"PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER...itty bitty living space" - Mahamoti Djinn sorry guys here is my flavor text for that card I think its funny lol
Loved it!
I love Serge. Would definitely love to play a game with him. He seems like the type of person where even though you don't know the rules he is more than happy to explain them
I've had Duel of the Fates stuck in my head for the past 3 days. This video came up just as I remembered it again.
42:35 Serge, "We're goin' Yarglein'."
Been looking for a fun group that plays mtg and y'all are literally the only ones that are any good
24:25 Graham and Serge moving in perfect sync is so oddly satisfying to watch
The brief discussion of "Beej Noises" made me fall down yet another Desert Bus rabbit hole... Thanks for that!
Serge is so oblivious to Commander it's kind of adorable. Would definitely be good if you guys could put decklists in the description of future vids though :)
Just would like to point out that Norn the weary is an absolute beast of a commander, almost unkillable and triggers every etb effect almost every turn....
I think this is the funniest game of commander ive ever seen.
I adore that for a time Yargle was the scariest thing in this game. And all those Kaladesh masterpieces in Surge's deck :o
This honestly inspired me to make a yargle deck of my own, except it's voltron
I enjoy watching Serge play, but seeing him die to Yargle made this vid infinitely better. Thank you Adam
Came back to rewatch the Yargle bit after Graham’s latest crack-a-pack (Dominaria).
I love LRR
its PRINCE ALI, FABULOUS HE, ALI ABABWA
who somehow killed something very poisonous without touching it directly so yay Aladdin!
I loved how Graham goes I lightning bolt and Serge goes you’ll never have priority and Graham says backsies and then Shit with such conviction
Ha, commander death replacement effects, good times
Ben and Adam are like two naughty schoolboys and I am here for it
this is why im watching this
God this was the best episode. Ben plus Adam is amazing.
and now, 3 months later, we do have black miracle cards
I would love to spend just a whole day playing edh with the LRR crew. Surge the most because he's just so happy all the time
Serge was great in this. Everyone was just dreading his crazy plays! lol
Wow, Ben really followed up with what he said he'd play in the recent Friday Nights episode. :3
I'm a simple guy I see serge I watch
he's too cute to pass up
Connor Hutch serge is supreme eye candy
He's been missing from North 100 for a couple weeks, which makes me sad, but it's because he's been shooting Road Quest which I'm super stoked for so ... probably worth?
Ikr!
So many Aladdin & Star Wars quotes 🤣
Also this is the reason Obby isn't in my landfall deck... no one has fun with Obby on the table!
58:44 why is muldrotha not the commander of Serge's deck?
28:31 Her third ability is Inferno/Fire Tempest
commander tax only ticks up when you send it to the command zone, because you only pay the additional tax when casting it from the command zone, it was when it died you'd never get taxed because sending it to the command zone is a replacement effect so it never actually dies.
Power Rankings : Adam, Graham, Cameron Ben, Ian, Nelson Alex Serge, Kathleen, Beej
Where is James?
Graham builds a jaya tribal deck, ben builds a flavor heavy phyrexia theme deck and a yargle deck for adam, and then surge builds a highly tuned sultai reanimator deck complete with 0 cost artifact ramp.... at least you have one of every classic mtg player archetype at the table.
Black had entreat the dead as a miracle card
Glutton of Urborg, Yargle is a 3/9 spirit frog.
I don't understand half of what they're saying, but listening to this makes me feel like I'm in room with some friends
don't know when last I laughed so much when watching a Commander game... thx guys you're so much fun!
Are they going to be doing battlebond preprelease at all
Serge, at 28:47, you got your 'bon apetite' and 'toke a joint' hand-gestures mixed up. It works, tho, but still kinda funny!
2:28:30 Tinker is banned in commander
I really wish there was an online decklist for all of these.
The first time I saw the art Forced Worship scared the poop out of me
So many opportunities to kill Consecrated Sphinx missed in that second game. It hurts my little ol heart
Beautiful lightning bolt Graham
Amazing customer service. I gave them the wrong address by a few letters and they sent me an email a few hours later to send the cards to the correct place
Man, Graham being wrong is hilarious.
So steadfast with the commander tax, and was off by Ben because he should’ve taken the two.
Was tainted Strike in the Yargle deck, Ben? It gives a target creature infect and +1/+0
I wonder how many customers offered to pay for nuts fast shipping?
When Ben said "it's working! " was that a big trouble little China reference or was he just saying it ? Lol
Star wars. When little anny fires upp his podracer
Great lineup. Makes me wish I was Canadian. But in my defense, I am VERY nice. But I don't drink beer. Cocktails.
Graham's mana is so baaaaaaaaaaaaaad in this deck.
They NEED to name Adam's deck "Yargle argle bargle"
Is it possible to find the list serge use in this video. Or if serge could post the list some where that would be awesome.
After watching a few times I’ve identified about 48-50 assuming basic land count.
I guess that’s the base I’ll build from.
And this is why Muldrotha makes a very fun commander.
The highlights are Yargle
And...
ALADDIN!
Love to see I've been playing cards wrong for years lol
Hey Serge, could you link your bug lands Canadian highlander list. Thanks, wanted to build something like it.
I'll be right back. I'm going to go listen to Duel of Fates now.
Yargle definitely skipped leg day in favor of mouth day.
Which goblin is Ben talking about at 1:18:02??????
I LOVED THAT BADASS JAYA PLAY YAAAAAAAAAS GRANDMAAAAAAA
I feel like off-color hybrid should be allowed as long as one of the two colors is in your commander's identity. The point of hybrid mana is that the spells/creatures can be done in either mono color, i.e. Kitchen Finks could be mono white or mono green.
Britton Stanaland but they would never actually print either the mono green or mono white version. That's why it's hybrid
Hybrid is easier to cast, so if Kitchen Finks is ok, a monocoloured version is also okay. Maro himself says that hybrid should be allowed in commander if only one colour matches your identity.
1:37:33 papa Ben is proud
What Life counter app did you glorious players use? i want to get it for my group of friends for game nights
Lifelinker
Ok so 2 years too late but Graham if you still have this deck you may want to add a hammer mage it's a spellshaper that destroys artifacts really underrated card
Are there decklists?
ADAM'S RUNNING YARGLEEEE
Serge wasn't playing EDH. He was playing Highlander.
Depending on your play group, some decks are like that.
I have a question would Primevals’ Glorious Rebirth, which brings legendaries back from the graveyard to the battlefield as long as you have a legendary on the field, would it bring back planeswalkers? Or only ones that say legendary?
Gamergirl AbsorbedTulip9 all planes walkers are legendary. That card would bring back all walkers.
A year late, here's a mistake I missed: 1:12:00 illegal Solemn Simulacrum casting (up to one for each permanent type. Ob Nixilis is also a creature.)
No it would work he cast it for his artifact for his turn
0:57
Yeah who would ever Flash Hulk anyone in commander?
Iz the Necromancy Scrambleverse interaction really work like that?
Phyrexian Obliterator was my first mythic ever...
I'm pretty sure Adam never took the initial 6 damage from Ob Nixilis or did i miss it?
Is there any card list of Sidisi deck?
Why does the middle card have to be so small? I can't read any of the text, so it's kind of pointless unless it's bigger.
How come there's no decklists here?
I like Serge, he seems a bit goofy, but I know he is a keeper
Moxs are banned?
Does anyone have a decklist of Adams deck? :D
I kinda want serge's List :P
