      Hey, just wanted to update you on my 1st attempt at cooking this recipe in my new crockpot. The chicken tasted DELICIOUS but I learned a couple of things. I used way too much seasoning lol, that was on me for trying to eyeball my portions. Also, I discovered I'm not a fan of pepper flakes. All in all, it turned out good. The only problem was that I think I over cooked the chicken. I put everything on a couple of hours before bed so it finished cooking and went into "keep warm" mode, but the chicken was overcooked. I'm guessing that I need to take it out of the crockpot once it's finished cooking. Can't thank you enough. You explain everything in my Mississippi language lol. Going to try a "simple" pot roast next

      @@SeeSaw99 You didn't really mess up on your seasoning because I heard if you are cooking in a Crock-Pot use less seasoning than you would an oven because it intensifies in the slow cooker. I made that same mistake years ago when I was making beef stew. There's another easy Crock-Pot meal.

    • @SeeSaw99
      @SeeSaw99 Рік тому +8

      @HostileTakeover2 I stopped using it. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong but everything was either over cooked, super tough, or tasted weird. Bone in chicken thighs, pork roast, beef roast, lamb, beef ribs, everything was not good. The beef ribs actually turned out very tender after about 9 hours but they were so oily that I couldn't stomach it. I was using the 4.5qt digital unit from Walmart $40 I think. But alas, I stopped using it.

    WOW! I made this yesterday, I put slightly less garlic in, only 6 cloves, and used 6 thighs instead of legs, also didn’t have chilli flakes so finely chopped 1 birdseye chilli.
    Left it cooking for 12hours on low, simply because that’s how long I was out the house for.
    It was absolutely delicious, so tasty, just fell apart, all of the seasoning seems equal and compliments the other.

    I happened across this video because UA-cam recommended it to me. It was perfect because I had all these things in the house, except the drumsticks for which i substituted 8 thighs. I kinda didn't want to use so many garlic cloves so I used 8 and crushed them just enough to release their flavor. It was overall, a hit. I served it with cheese tortellini and green beans as the two sides. Great recipe - 5 stars. Thanks!

I put 2 tbs Italian seasoning, 1 tsp red pepper flakes, a bunch of garlic cloves...a whole lot.....salt (1 tsp) & pepper(1/2 tsp). As a person who loves anything chicken and/or garlic, you have made my day! But I would change one thing about this recipe and that is the garlic. Instead of putting in raw garlic cloves, I'd first take all those cloves, sluice them with some olive oil and wrap them up in foil and put them in a 350° oven for about an hour or 90 minutes. It makes them just nutty and sweet and then adding them to the chicken makes the chicken that much better!! Cheers!

      @@AllWingsEverything I forgot to reply that I made it a few nights ago. I had too many chicken legs so didn’t quite get the 1 layer you recommended. And because of that I added more stock to try and cover the legs a bit more and I only added 20 cloves of garlic so I don’t think, it turned out properly.
      But, even though it wasn’t proper, I can see where this was headed so I am definitely going to try it again. But this time I am going to do it the proper way. Because even when done improperly, it still was tasty so I can only imagine how good this would be if I had done it correctly.
