This is just 1 of the 10,000 reasons we love you Melissa!!!!! Your dedicated even when your down to a 1 arm bandit and can laugh at yourself after a moss pole incident like the rest of us! It just shows your human and humble! 🫶🏼🥹 We love you for all your content dedication! ☺️🌱🪴🌿🌵🌳🌴🍃
Don’t push yourself too much, I know you try to rest as you can 💕 I broke my toe this past weekend and then got an 8 week old basset hound puppy a couple days after and it’s been.. challenging to say the least 😂 Sending all the healing vibes! 💕
Oh no! Ouch 😬 so sorry!! 🫶🏻 that’s definitely going to be challenging with a puppy lol but maybe the puppy will somehow make you feel better 🥹 wishing you a speedy recovery! ❤️🩹
My only pole plant is at the top of its pole and it’s time for an extension. It’s got a root three inches out of the top of the pole. So it’s looking for some moss too. Also the pole is crooked and leans forward to the right. When I water it leaks out the front.
Melissa your such a a dedicated person. I want to hire you to care for my small collection of plants. lol I probably couldn't afford to pay you what you're worth,😉 I've said it before but I'm saying it again: "You Are So Good At What You Do!" Your beautiful plants are a testament to that. I'm glad you're taking time for yourself to go out with your neighbors. I'm also excited that you arm is feeling a little better. Before you know it you'll be able to use it fully. TFS Melissa. Hi Luna, Star, and Chai Chai
An idea for the majestic: what if you do not take the plant off the pole ... instead you could plant two poles side by side in a pot and put a new pole on top... and try to guide the new vines on that one new pole... would save a lot of work maybe and the plants are not that stressed.
That's an insane root system on that adansonii!!!! 🫨😬 I had a similar experience with pon everywhere when one of my Anthuriums slipped out of my hand (pot and all!!!!) Thankfully the ceramic pot didn't break but I had pon EVERYWHERE 😩 My Monstera Albo is getting big so will take a leaf out of your Adansonii book and secure it more. I hope your arm heals quickly and that your Majestic doesn't skip a beat 👏🏼🫶
What did you do to your arm? Take care of yourself Melissa! About your camera I have had that happen before on my insta360 camera and it’s the SDK card filling up. I have to remember to format it before recording a longer planty video. Now that I am using my iPhone I don’t have to worry about it. 👍🏻
I can’t get over how small of a pot you put those huge plants in. I have never had a pole nor the size of plants you have, so I have zero clue to what size they should be. I am guessing because there’s no roots?
Such gorgeous plants! You mentioned something like silicone for helping the stem be more bendy. What was that called? I have the same problem with my verrucosum
I had to cut up my monstera 😭 I was going to just repot it but it didn't work out. I hope it will root. If they all root, I will have quite a collection. It had become a big plant
Gosh, it's painful to watch you working one-armed. Your spirit shines thru: your patience w/Luna needing some cuddles, when you're truly pooped. Hope you can feel my admiration, Melissa. A question for you: if I had a chopped P. Majestic like yours, could I free it from the plastic, then place those big sections in a rectangular pot, roots down in your rooting mix? Horizontal, in other words. Would it root at the nodes, so I could chop up individual sections and repot? I'm lazy and Gravity is definitely not my friend. Thanx.
Thank you! I was tired by the end of majestic it was so much work and I cut a lot of time out 😂 If the nodes are rooted then they should take to the new mix okay. If the roots are dried up from under watering then they might rot but it should grow in new roots as long as the node is covered. The new growth will emerge and probably will grow up though towards the light.
@@plantsbymelissa thanks for taking time to answer what might happen with a Majestic planted horizontally, for the purpose of rooting. Hope that left arm is feeling better every day, Melissa.
Oh wow, took the words right out of my mouth. I have at least 15-20 plants that need new poles… and some just need to be on a pole, period. I literally said in my mind, “I’ll do it by the end of May”, as you said the same. 😆 I’m feeling… 50% motivated right now. Well, maybe 78.99%. Jk. Better than zero. 😑
Aw i definitely put them off for too long. It’s hard to motivate myself sometimes because I know it’s a task 🫣 I think I’ve gotten to a point that I love their size now so I need to just manage a pole without having to chop and extend it so often. I know I’ll feel better once they’re all done though 🫶🏻
3:23 Unlucky 🙃 Oh boy, it just keeps going! Snapped vines, plant dominos, your arm... I hope you're recovering well. Also wishing good fortune heads your way. 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
thank you so much! It was a lot there for a while but slowly working on my chops and my arm is feeling better. Hoping to have them all done sometime next month ☺️
@@plantsbymelissa I think I used to much! My variegated chiapense white parts are going translucent. My silicate was in a powder form. I planned on chopping soon so I’m not heartbroken.

Your “nooo”’s when snapping the vine then noticing the wrong pole cracked me up 😅 not to laugh at you, you’re just precious Melissa!

the verrucosum is beautiful 😍
I’ve heard coconut husk leaches calcium from the plant. Be on the lookout!
Thank you! 🙏🏼 it’s crazy the journey it has been on to get it here 😭
The slo mo gasp when you snapped the verrucosum. 😂😂😂 Your plants look amazing Melissa!
This is immensely helpful. I just poled my first and only plant. It was a bit of a botch job, but in a few weeks I’ll try and make it prettier!

I need to order more medium thiccly poles, i just can't afford it right now (canadian pricing is a lot) , but I have plants getting too tall 😅😅
So the poles that open in the front are better than the ones that open in the back? Thank you for sharing ❤
I can see you struggling to get your pole work done. I can tell how much you hurt doing that. Take it easy and continue to rest as needed. Get well.
Thank you! 🙏🏼

I was doing my makeup to get ready for work, heard the snap and went "noooooo!" with you. 😅
Do you have an updated video on your soil mix?
My adansonii fell over yesterday too
I hope your arm is feeling better soon, Melissa!
Thank you! Appreciate that!! 💕
You making me want to try moss poles… I’m not sure im ready for the maintenance they need tho 😅
You could put the stake down the back of the poles on the inside it would probably offer more support that way. Your verrucosum is beautiful 😍
Sorry to hear about your arm. Get well soon!
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼💕
Do your large/thick cuttings do well going straight into soil?

I like to buy your cuttings if you sell them. I’m in California
At least you don’t have carpet anymore.
Ugh, carpet in the plant room was awful lol. We still have carpet in the other bedrooms though. Would love to get rid of it all eventually 🫶🏻
Looks uncomfortable🤔, you are forcing yourself too hard to do all that. get well soon Melissa 💚😊
I do not know how you managed poles with a single arm! 🤕
You need a personal assistant! Please take care of yourself. Your plants are looking fabulous as always!
Thank you! 🙏🏼 help would be nice haha need to get hubby into plants as a hobby 😂

What is your silica dosage?
I am using .5 ML per gallon. I have a syringe I use to draw it up and I am using it with every watering.
