New look there Rachel; quite fetching. My guess is that you're trying to catch a certain Billy's eye in an effort to make up for disrespecting his whisky. It might just work. Interesting Kininvie as well.
You had me at urine... I put that Kinivie in a blind tasting I did with my pals in 2021. It was quite popular with them. I remember thinking pumpkin pie (memories from being over the pond) Used to be available & reasonable on Amazon & had a very geek-out-able box. I was sad to see that it disappeared though. I'm hoping that the distillery had plans to continue along the rye side as it's not that common in Scotland.
Great comparo! Balvenie is readily available in Canada - Kininvie not so much. I prefer a Mortlach 12 or 16 or an Aberlour A’bunadh to the Balvenie but wouldn't turn one down - that would be rude. And I would definitely buy a whisky named Drammit Janet!
Arbikie is a highland rye and I've never seen anyone reviewing it. Rachel bringing in " raceyness" int o the video. Viewing will go through the roof now
Howdy Girls! Best regards from severely cold wintery Moscow. So it nighs towards Xmas doesn't it👌👍 What would you recommend better-Aberlour 12 Double Wood or Balvenie 12 Double Wood?
Oh, we'd probably say both are good but our choice between the two would be the Balvenie. Having said that, neither of us have had the Aberlour in a while!
That batch of the Balvenie sounds rough... we get it at 43% here in the US and I have to say my last bottle of it (a 200ml, couple years ago now) was actually a cracker. (Much to my surprise. In general I agree with you that it's a competent if somewhat pedestrian malt.)
It's an intro malt because it's a known name and the bottle looks good. I suspect I got headache from it the next morning. I've bought one bottle and I'd never by another. Too expensive for what it is. It costs almost twice as much as Glenfarclas 12 in my market.
If Jen doesn't like mango, then she'll never like hazy IPA beers. Lots of that and pineapple much of the time. But, I don't think mango smells like cat pee. I've toasted red oak for home aging of spirits, and THAT indeed smells like cat pee as it toasts. However it's thankfully not on the palate.
Weirdly I do like mango! I've spoken to wine people who get cat pee in some white wines but still like them. None of us like cat pee though so I cant explain that! It doesn't seem to put us off! And I go mad for a Hazy IPA!!!!!! My fav style of beer right now! Who knew?! Jen 😊
As always truly entertaining. If I ever make it over the pond the Grail will be in my travel plans
Yeah! Come see us!

Ah ha! You're on to her!😆
googled "tropical wee" and found this. Now I have to understand what's this god damned "single malt" thing... :D (great video as always)
😆
I have not had the Kininvie. Very cool to hear about it. Cheers!
Hope you manage to get some to try!
Really tasty drop..very nice.
great video !!The only thing I can recommend is placing the bottle you are reviewing at camera level. Awesome job!!
Awesome thank you for tuning in and feedback :D!!

Yeah, it definitely something really unusual and different in Scotland!
Very interesting and informative! Never heard about Kininvie. Sounds very tasty (both of them)!
Glad to have introduced you to it!

Mortlach is always a winner for us!

We're still on the look out for the Arbikie. We'll maybe have a review sometime!

A good way of putting it!
i like it , will check out the kininvie ;;
Y'all have some terrible mangoes or badass cats roaming around.
But you have convinced us to open our kininvie 23 this weekend. Slaintè
Oh wow! Enjoy! Slainte!🥃
Rachael looking hot to trot 😂, Luv the hair 👍, i like the pallet more than the wee wee smell on the balvenie
Thanks!😊 I think we agree on the palate v the nose!

Aw really? Good to hear your perspective!
Totally Tropical Pish! The Grain wins then. 🤣
You forgot to add the hashtag #tropicalwee, should bring in some interesting new visitors 😉
Oh dammit! We should defo add that! 🤣😂
Can’t say I’ve heard cats piss being mentioned before with Balvenie 😂
Heard about it being a tasting note in some Irish Whiskey 🤣
😂 to be fair, it was just general piss, then that mangos are like cat piss! Its a bad day for mangoes and Balvenie!
😍
Always find balvenie sharp and thin, like a cheap blend
Kininvie is absolutely fabulous tried this between Xmas and NY in Ensign Ewart - recommended from the bar staff ❤
Ah! Glad you enjoyed it!
