Yup, such a cool character concept and well-executed, complex character in the story - I love the fact that despite being a Makuta, he isn’t even straight up evil whatsoever and has his own set of motivations and viewpoints
Avalon here, thanks you so much for featuring my Miserix upgrade! Hearing your thoughts on it has genuinely highlighted my week! As mentioned in the video, I am currently planning on releasing full video instructions for the build sometime in November. (I intend to post it on a separate channel, so don’t worry about subscribing to this one to not miss it.) Until then, stay tuned, and thank you for your time.
Hello! I am really impressed by your upgraded Miserix. What a great build! I have seen that you've had a busy year, which hindered your work on instructions. Are you still working on the instructions by any chance? If this is too time consuming, could you post the parts list alongside more photos of the model? That would help in recreating your MOC. Have a nice day!
After a solid decade, only now do I realize the whole plot detail of Miserix growing to a huge size in prison by absorbing surrounding Klak for millennia was to explain why his canonized model is so massive.
I have a headcanon that Makuta Miserix created the Tahtorak and Kanohi Dragon. Miserix had a tendency to transform into large, vicious reptiles, so it would make perfect sense for him to have created two massive dragon-like rahi.
This Makuta is somewhat reminiscent of the Devil, and I think that works for the powerful evil that the brotherhood of Makuta represents. Very intimidating and really beefy looking build
I built mine (with some custom recolours, mine's body armour and shoulders and gold, instead of silver and red) and I love it. I think I got really lucky with parts cause I can stand mine straight up without as much problem as you seemed to be having, but boy do I love posing him completely crouched! He is extremely stable on all fours and it really fits his rahi/dragon aspects, and can still tower over every other bionicle of mine. Lovely set!
Hey, glad to find this! I had been looking for the building instruction video that you linked in the description when I found this video instead (as it turns out, that instruction video has unfortunately been deleted). I have an eye to making him one day, so I really appreciate you putting this review out there so I know more or less what to expect from the model, and whether or not it's worth it to make (at this point I still think he is). Also, incredibly minor point here, but the Reidak spine and the Kurahk spine on the tail should be the Hakann spine and the Panrahk spine, respectively. Don't know if that's something from the original build video, or if those are also subbed-in pieces you included, but thought I'd throw that out there in case anyone's looking for references to build him as well. They don't change anything that much, so like I said, that's a very small point in a great, informative video.
Dang, shame the instruction video was pulled, that must have been super recent as I used it to build this model no more than a few weeks ago! And thanks so much for the tips on the spines! I actually based it off of the video I referenced (that has since been deleted) and did think it was strange how the spine was black instead of dark red to match the color scheme. Since there’s no instructions or any how to build video out there, perhaps I’ll make one of my own for people looking to build the model themselves. Thanks for the detailed comment and I appreciate your thoughts!
Oooh, yeah, I'd definitely be interested in a build video if you were to do it! As is, the model looks practically 100% accurate aside for the couple instances you mentioned of the original build video using more modern pieces, so I'd trust the veracity of your build if you were to do it.
Once I get the time I will definitely do it and make the substitutions you recommend - I’ll also point out all the modern pieces used, and over the process of building it I think I have a pretty clear idea as to how it was built without those pieces (which makes it inherently less stable/more prone to breaking apart), but I’ll probably showcase it both ways so people who are super strict with canon can have it their way too. Thanks for checking out the video and inspiring me to make the instructions! Hopefully the ones I make will be a little clearer than what was previously uploaded, which was frankly quite difficult to follow with rather poor lighting. I’m honestly surprised nobody else has made instructions for the model in its true canon form (the closest I can find are for a revamp that heavily relies on CCBS)
Does anyone know if the bionicle mini figures would be about right in scale with this makuta miserix build? Because lore wise like duck bricks said, makuta miserix is around 40 feet tall in his dragon form.
The fact that he's 40 feet tall scares me. He'd be taller than the largest sauropod dinosaurs like Argentinosaurus, who stood up to 30 feet tall Also I didn't know he could stand up on two feet
Man am I dumb, for the longest time I thought he had 4 legs because of that hand resting on the ground, I didn't realize till this video that he was bipedal
Hey, if you don't have a certain piece needed for a fan model as a spare, why don't you take the piece from an official model that you have built for the sake of the review?
@@DuckBricks I'm filling my collection with 1 rahi "from each element" to be the pets of a team of toa I'm creating. The archive mole seemed to be the perfect earth/stone candidante, because of it's colors and the fact that a mole is a earth digging animal hehe
@@DuckBricks I'm not verry concerned about the canon look. So I'll take the general builds and change it a little. Like I did for the ice rahi, that I basically took the kikanalo and changed several pieces for white (I gave the excuse that it's an wooly kikanalo, a sub-species hehe ).
Those instructions are off. Looks like an upgrade rather than the original build. I was the one who “discovered” the creator and rebuilt the original model based on the original images she sent. Not counting colors, your model is very inaccurate to the original, nonetheless, a nice upgrade.
Dang, that’s too bad! I was trying to go off of the most accurate images I could find, but of course didn’t have access to the original creator to see the images. I’ve actually been following your Reddit posts quite closely and appreciate the work you’ve done in getting the most canonized models out there! Do you happen to have some images or maybe some tips as to what exact points have been built wrong? Would love to take a look at images of your rebuilt model to improve mine to be the most canon, and maybe even put out an update video. Thanks for commenting!
@@DuckBricks had no idea you had seen my stuff! Thank you! The original creator posted the miserix photos to Reddit directly, that should at least help you improve that build. Either way, it was very hard for me to reverse engineer it even with the old 2008 images. Once I complete mine (sadly a few parts are missing or off color) I plan to do instructions.
@@thedetective6500 thanks for the heads up! And yes, I have been an avid follower and literally just ordered parts for the Furnace Salamander following your instructions post a few days ago. @@DuckBricks thank you! Of course for the salamander, it was vahki 6 who made the instructions! He’s done a few of the dark hunters and rahi, however a couple are slightly off. I’d recommend you build the melding universe teridax.

Hey, just wondering if you’d ever posted those instructions and parts list, your build looks so cool!
After a solid decade, only now do I realize the whole plot detail of Miserix growing to a huge size in prison by absorbing surrounding Klak for millennia was to explain why his canonized model is so massive.
Yup, plus the shape shifting abilities allowing him to grow to a size that people could actually ride on his back
Miserix is basically General Iroh in a way, wow…
I have a headcanon that Makuta Miserix created the Tahtorak and Kanohi Dragon. Miserix had a tendency to transform into large, vicious reptiles, so it would make perfect sense for him to have created two massive dragon-like rahi.
It is indeed canon that Miserix created the Tahtorak.
He wants the Answer.
(And the answer is Brutaka was doing a little trolling.)
Think it deserved higher scores. He looks so powerful and intimidating. I’d love to see a 3D animation of Miserix bending shadows to his will.
Dang it's awesome to see this IRL, i'm so used to seeing it as that one jpeg that doesn't give to much of an idea as to his anatomy.
If there was a theatrical Bionicle movie I like to have either Matthew Lillard or Pedro Pascal as the voice for Makuta Miserix
