      Where did you get the grates? I picked up this grill from someone who was scrapping it. Everything is literally brand new looking except the grates are flaky and rusty. I got rhem clean up pretty good but those are nice!

      @@tylerbrock2659 the grates I'm using in the video are stock, they came with the grill. You might be able to find some replacement grates on the Weber website, or maybe your local Home Depot or Ace

    Great technique! Wings are one of the few things I've never grilled on my Weber gas grill, before I saw your UA-cam video. I followed your basic directions, same heat, coated wings with olive oil, used my own dry rub spices, flipped 'em every 5 minutes or so and when they were done, I used your sauce technique, as well...Excellent way to do wings on the grill. Today, I'll be making my 3rd batch using your technique because it worked so well. Thanks for sharing! This one's a keeper!

    Seasonings tend to burn over a direct fire. It’s better to just liberally season with salt and pepper and put it on the other side of the grill. Turning every 20 minutes for an hour. Caliente seasoning also has a bunch of BS chemicals in it. Franks Red Hot and butter is cleaner and tastier.

    you started with 2 burners on high got it to 450 deg, but when you turned them down 1/2 way the last 5 min looked like the temp was only around 350 deg...things cooks don't want to tell you LOL

    • @BarlowBBQ
      @BarlowBBQ  3 роки тому +2

      Gotta keep our secrets lol. Not really. We open and close the grill a lot off camera so that could have been it. Also we have to adjust things during the video so we can take photos without burning everything. Lordy it takes forever. We’re also mostly human and sometimes forget to relay everything. The absolute best way to learn how to cook on YOUR grill is to use it. They are all different with different hot spots and quirks even if they are the same model of grill. Keep grilling!
      Sorry to keep secrets .

    How much butter did you add please?

    • @BarlowBBQ
      @BarlowBBQ  3 роки тому

      It's up to you. Good rule of thumb is to use a little more that you think. You want enough so it can stick to the wings. If you're making a lot of wings, try a while stick of butter. If not so much wings, try a half stick. Experiment and see what you like best!

    I bought this as my first propane grill. It's been a fun, learning experience ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . I think it's a bit too pricey after looking at other grills, but it wasn't hard to put together and it works really well. I love the side burner option for heating food during a power outage. I have an electric stove and live in the South (Hurricane season), so this was a bonus. I also bought a cover for it and it has protected it nicely (the Char Broil All-Season Grill Cover 3-4 Burner: Large). Every few grill sessions, I take the rack (or grate) and burner covers off and clean them with a non-abrasive scrubby and mild soap. I wipe the excess off of the bottom as well, taking care to avoid the gas and pilot lines.

    what was the grill temperature during most of the cook?

    • @BarlowBBQ
      @BarlowBBQ  2 роки тому +1

      HOT!! 🔥 But specifically it was at 400-450° for the whole cook. Just turn on all your burners to high and let the grill get up to at least 400 before getting the wings on
