That's some bull, he was not a sell out he was a entertainer, and where ever he was allowed to do so he did it. I had such a crush when I was a little girl, and if it wasn't for him who knows. Resting Peacefully I'm sure. The best Ever to do it!!!
I agree with you! I don't see Sammy as a sell out. I see Sammy as a man who refused to allow racism to keep him from experiencing life the way that he wanted to experience it. It took courage, humility, and meekness to experience life the way that he did, during that time! Sammy made many white Americans fall in love with him! Like the old saying says......."You get more bees with honey"! Another saying........"Kill them with Kindness"! Whoever can apply these sayings to their lives will have a better life experience here on earth! This doesn't mean sit back and let people mistreat you, it just means always LEAD with love and respect! It's not wise to fight fire with fire, that just makes a bigger fire, and it makes things worse! Either do what you can, on your part, to put the fire out, or walk away from the fire and never look back! Evil people exist in the world, and we cannot change that fact. The key is to NEVER let evil people make you like them.......dark and miserable! Leading with love and respect keeps you in a good head space, and it protects your spirit! I always pray to God to keep my hands clean before Him no matter how others treat me! Nobody can be happy walking around angry and doing hateful things to other people everyday! Only miserable people live this way!
What I loved about Sammy was his ability to love white Americans at a time when there was so much uncomfortable tension between black people and white people! I am a black woman and I had a white female friend whom I loved and my love changed her life forever! I was her first black friend. She was raised in a very racist family environment but I accepted her and befriended her, and to make a long story short, she eventually took me to meet her family and she PROUDLY took me to her church! I was the only black person there! I lost touch with her when I moved to another state, but I will never forget her! LOVE IS VERY POWERFUL💯🎯❤️
I've loved Sammy since I was a child. I wanted to be an entertainer as a child. He, Cab Callaway, Lena Horne, Billie Holiday, these were my idols growing up. I read Sammy's autobiography, "Yes I Can", as a kid. Those days, black entertainers were the REAL SOULJAHS, taking the mistreatment and abuse on the road. I was so hurt, when he got his cancer diagnosis. Was glad to see he got his flowers, while he was alive. He was given a special program, where he was surrounded by the love and respect due. Hat's off to an original. You're loved, respected, and deeply missed. RIP❤
I remember watching Sammy Davis Jr he was the most talented man he was good at dancing singing and a lot more he will always be remembered as a great guy rest in peace legend 🕊️🙏🏾1925-1990🙏🏾🕊️
The greatest entertainer ever, absolutely loved him, thank you Sammy for sharing your amazing talents with us all, sleep. Easy mate remembered always, totally irreplaceable.
We don’t really call it show business anymore. What a classy guy and a great time in America . The music was definitely better . People in show biz were just classy it seems. There are almost no classy people in show biz now days . Struggling to think of just one
Growing up in Las Vegas, there were occasional oppertunities to speak with Sanmy Davis Jr The first time that we had about a 10 minute conversation at McCarren International airport it was about las Vegas history We talked again at The Brewery Restaurant 7 months later I said hello Mr Davis. He acknoleged me by my name There are other example over around 12years He was a nice man that didnt take anyone or anything for granted
This man was a very triple dimensional Talent!!!!! He proves something though he proved to everybody I'm not going to do it your way and he said it in his famous song I gotta be me!!! God rest your soul Mr Davis 🕊️🖤✊!!! The world's greatest entertainer!!!!
I’m a big fan of Michael Jackson and I always heard him referring to Sammy Davis Jr. And I wasn’t familiar to Sammy. So I’m learning more about him; and wow! he was an amazing and great man. I love his personality. He definitely fought good fights and won great battles, all with grace. Thank you for the post
I was wondering if anyone but me heard that. Because of the tapes....we now know what kind of a sleaze Nixon was. Not to mention the resignation fiasco. Maybe he was a good politician....but disappointing human being.
I’m a white woman and I get so upset and sad and embarrassed that black people were treated the way they were. They are special human beings created by the same maker as all of us were. I’m so sorry on behalf of white people. I know my soul and I would have 100% felt this way in a different time. I would have spoken up loudly in defense of this disgusting mindset! It’s horrific!!!
❤ You think that's upsetting. I'm not big on western religion however, I study the Bible and philosophy for fun. Do you that black people are the originators, innovators, and creators of Math, science, philosophy, and many other things like religion the concept of afterlife, etcetera.... via The ancient Egyptians. Moreover, Western civilization have been making black people the villains since the Israelites wrote the Bible with Noah's grandson

You are being introduced to the truly Greatest All-around Entertainer in the Whole World, barring none. Welcome!
He was MJ before MJ except he was a better actor. He crawled and walked so Michael Jackson could run and take over the world.
@@beyourself2444I literally tell people the exact same thing.
I quite agree Erica
. I've had a crush on him my whole life 😂
You can see Micheal's style a lot here
*Michael
Elijah Kelly should play Sammy Davis in his life story…!!!
It looks like it's in the works and will be on Hulu soon!
When you trying to make money you gotta make it all around.
He does a killer Humphrey Bogart.
Not any more he doesn't, lol.
Wow the first 10 minutes are so revoltingly racist. Not watching
Beautiful adorable at 3 years of age talented entertainer amazing ..love him "I gotta be me" .. ♥️ 2022. .🙏.
Wow that near slip at 1:17:54 mark tells you what he really was to Nixon
Fantastic spot!

The Goat.
In my opinion all of his songs are number one hits material. He embodied the word "entertainer"one hundred per cent. The very best. 💯👏👏💖
The biggest problem I have with my folks. Is telling other black ppl how they should be black

Does anyone know where to find the version of “I’ll Begin Again” from 39:08? Sammy sounds really good there and I really want to hear to full version.
Nr 1
Mr.D: Mr.ENTERTAINMENT🎤🎷🎺🥁👞🎸❤️🙏🏾
His mother was verrrrrry light skinned so that may have been the infatuation of white women.
