Got to meet Midnight at a sound check with my 15yo son last year. Super nice guys and even asked him “what song do you want to hear?”. They played him All Hail Hell, per his request. The term, never meet your hero’s, doesn’t apply to these guys. He’ll never forget it. Thanks Midnight!

I saw Midnight at the Fillmore in Denver with Merciful Fate (2022) and bought the cd twice, because I dropped the first while headbanging. Great night, awesome performances: thanks Athenar. Thanks J-Dawg for having more of the Midnight catalogue (the bonus live cds were a nice addition).

Always love when Athenar makes an appearance. Hearing him just talk about what he does reminds me of the channel Chromium dioxide radio. If you haven’t watched it, I would recommend it to anybody who has a fascination with the 80s

I just checked out Midnight because of this interview. I'd heard there name come up here and there, but, I never actually listened to them. I've been looking for a band like them! Best of Motorhead, Venom/Early Black Metal, and Speed/Thrash metal all rolled into one! Really dig their sound and energy on stage.
Finally met Athenar at Exit Festival this year. Told him to say hi to you and asked him 'where the fuck is Reaper from Hellcast?!'. His response was 'probably jerking at home' 🤣

Mr. Brisket, I remember you saying you like the vintage rock reissues that Shadow Kingdom puts out, I have several of their reissues myself and if you haven't jammed to 1980 album "Night Calls" from the band Full Moon I urge you to get yourself a copy. This is about as under-rated an album that you'll ever encounter. Happy hunting with that.👍

Another one I want to pick up is the convent guilt album!!! The dawg got me started on shadow kingdom! It is. Nastier, more combustible than anything metal had to offer till the thrash bands came along. Not talking about speed, but the general vibe and production on the original.
All the first 3 Stooges albums are great, my most favorite is probably ''Fun House''.
@@lopolik I like how on the first album the 3rd track completely contradicts the first 2 songs and its very slow and dirgey. Its obvious they did that to F with the audience/listeners.

Gotta love the Samantha Fox interview picture disc in the background. I remember a record store I used to go to back when I was in college which had a bunch of picture discs hanging from the ceiling. There was all kinds of stuff, but the ones I still remember were the Venom: Nightmare disc and two or three of those Samantha Fox ones, which are really nice to look at. I would like to get all of them at some point myself.

Big time Boulder fan here! I still consider Reaped In Half one of the best guitar albums of all time. Also really dig Midnight's Sweet Death and Ecstasy...I often wish I grew up in Cleveland as it's such a hot bed for great rock n' roll metal such as Vanik and Vandallus, for further examples. 👿🤘😎 (Love the Satan banner by the way.)
I bought every cd midnight has made. Well, the full length ones. Guy is great at what he does.
I'm new to Midnight, but definitely a fan.
Pitch shifters and voice modulation, just gotta get the right intervals. The wrong notes can make it sound happy.

My friend toured with Benton one time. He said he demands to have his menthols at certain times and he takes 30 racks and drops them in front of other touring bands and says “move” so he can sit down and power down like 7 beers
