Great list. Those old Japanese inline 4's can't be beat for longevity. You can go older and cheaper yet and still have a fast reliable ride. Two years with my '88 Katana 1100 and every thing I've spent on it this far (other than gas and insurance) original price included amounts to about $3,500.00 CDN. That's pretty cheap riding considering at that age I can probably resell the bike for at least what I paid for it.
I still think if you are going for an R1 you should save for the cross plane. Sure you won’t really notice power difference on the street (relatively speaking), but the soundtrack is night and day better.
For exquisitely well maintained large bore dad bikes with low mileage and insanely cheap prices, BMW is the king lord god. Many of them will be ginormous cruisers of the Euro flavor but there are plenty of sport touring bikes in the mix, and if you wanna go fast, 1100+ ccs is gonna do it. When you pick up a like new 2004 RS for $2700 with 3600 miles, your only question will be, can you trust the factory tires that have almost never seen sunshine UV or gotten a whiff of ozone?
Hi Papa Yam. Love my FZ1 with NO sport touring bags. It's a rocket ship! Great video and I love what you say about things and how you say it. Piano is so soothing. And Luv that R6 and that Honda 954 is smoking hot and fast. See ya on the next one!
... dont do a search on "naked bike" on youtube... you have to search for "naked motorcycle"... this mistake will take you down a 2 hour rabbit hole that makes you feel dirty... but, its like a train wreck.. you just cant look away.
Bought my first Street bike a month ago. Decided on a Honda CBR600F4i found a 2006 for $3600 and under 16k miles. More than enough squid, off to go get my endorsement.. eventually.
That’s the first bike I almost killed myself on, nice choice. I was 18 barely ever rode the street before and found myself trying to figure out how to get around a bend at 156mph indicated. What a ride that was in like 2008 or maybe 09
Great choice- I wanted the same bike but ended up chickening out and instead bought a 2019 CBR650R- I’m really pleased with it, mellow and easy to ride low down in the revs, comfortable, but fun when you get those revs wound up.
954 is one of my favorites in my garage too. She is fast and savage when you want her. But she can be mild, easy and controllable in every situation too. (Was caught in snow in the Swiss alps on her and made it home without any problem nor nanny systems)
Luggage is no problem. I use rollbag and a textile saddlebag combo. I carry about 75kg photo equipment and some clothes and other stuff. It would be 100kg on the back. I ride solo. But the pillion should have a solid bottom and grip. The backseat. It isn’t the most comfy option.
Are they really that bad even with the 3rd iteration? I think Chase and Blockhead wear them exclusively and save for like one or two review videos from Chase (can't speak for Blockhead) I don't see much simping / shilling for the brand on his part.
@@AllTheRamenOnTheSky The 3rd iteration is noisy af above 50+ mph and people have reported the helmets to be very painful to put on/take off especially if you have a wrong sized helmet

Well ABOUT TIME ...the Daytona 955i most under rated 'sport bike ' ever... $4000, I picked up my 2005 w/6,800 mile mint for $3500 in 2013. I bought a yamaha xj600 for extremely cheap. They are about 1200 euro's max in europe. It does 0-60 in 4.5 -5sec from factory. With a bigger rear sprocket even faster! It is heavy but certainly really nimble for its weight. I think it is about the same class as a suzuki bandit but a cheaper choise.

@Zain Ahmad The GSX1100F came new in 1988 with 136 hp but is just a 4 cylinder. It's still very smooth and fast though. When I was young a close friend had a CBX and let me try it out. They are awesome but this Katana would have been faster new.

I've been watching your channel for a few days and have learned so much already, despite riding since mid 90s.
