    That katydid is so chill. Usually you hear of them biting someone, especially when their mouth is so close to one's hand, but she looks completely relaxed.

      @@Knjaz-opium btw Some Katydids like the black face ones can fight things like Mantises and small Centipede even big centipede have a hard time fighting the black face Katydids

    Very cool! When they only live 6 months, 2 months in an egg doesn’t seem very short to me.

    Looks like the baby's antennae are already the final full-length version, then the rest of the body catches up lol

    Idk why they scare me. Maybe bc when they bust out in season here. I live in front of some woods and the sound was intense. I know even though I'm not a fan, I support their purpose. I had a friend not afraid of them..she came over w a freakin bug on a leash like string ! Even I felt bad. And lady bugs freak me out. So I have a heart

    So, based on this behavior, in "Munster Bug Wars" these katydids are placed in harm's way so they get devour for entertainment... Sad!!!

      There are legitimately predatory katydids, and some were shown in the series, but several of the ones in MBW were omnivores/scavengers and certainly not something that'd try to pick a fight with a large spider like in the show.

      Yes, they can bite. Very powerful... But only when they catch prey (Mostly other Grasshoppers and Insects, sometimes vegetables) or when you try to hold them... Here in Austria, we have a smaller type (About 5cm), also green and they can fly really good... I like this creatures!

      They can. But. It depends.. If you let it crawl on you. It will not bite down.

      Most are omnivorous but the red eyed devils of Texas eat other bugs and even lizards and tiny birds!
