@@T1000-s4j It's mostly just that there's so much focus on Richard Pryor's character and random slapstick. Take the same basic movie but give Reeve more screen time and remove some of the dumber slapstick moments(the opening scene, the random effects of Gus's drunken computer hacking around the city and Gus skiing off the building) and it would improve things quite a bit.

While both ways are awesome, Christopher Reeves was an actual pilot so he had a better understanding of the mechanics and physics of flight. With Henry's version, to me, blasting of like a rocket would only make sense in an emergency situation. Dropping down like a cannon ball to say hi to your mom then taking of like a tomahawk cruise missle to go work just doesn't scream "good superheroing".

People ask and wonder why the oil tanker didn't explode when Superman used his heat vision. There is two reasons why, A. when Superman blows the oil back into the tanker and he's closing it up. Not only is he holding the oil back in, but he's Supercooling it in the process, also the tanker was made up of two layers. So Superman could have closed one layer and frozen it. Making it safer for him to use his heat vision on the outer layer without causing it to explode.

+Cory Morr I have a feeling that the third and fourth films are off subject where the second film takes place after the events of the first film.

that fight was superb! and rendered in 720p too! this scene is also for my money superior than the rest of the movie especially with the peanut smashing liquor bottles in the bar which is quite simply brilliant!
thank you for the hd vids comiccollector87

Crude oil highly flammable but at 2:13 he use fire to repair the tanker .
    Government label it:
HIGHLY FLAMMABLE- Will be easily ignited by heat, sparks or flames. Vapors may form explosive mixtures with air.
Maybe it was black coconut oil tanker :P

This was my first movie in a theatre at seven years old, already a huge Superman fan. I vividly remember the excited feeling in my stomach when he pulled open his shirt to reveal his "true colors." The oil spill scene may only be second to the helicopter rescue in The Movie as the best action sequence in the series.

Amazing how he can so accurately blow the oil into the hole, and be able to use laser vision to seal the oil container shut, without it blowing up...

I think what he did is he used his freeze breath to keep the oil cool (in other words under it's ignition temperature) while he used his heat vision to seal the hull breach! 😀😊

Superman's uniform was noticeably darker when he flew to the Statue of Liberty to see Lorelei Ambrosia. Prior to this, he straightened the Leaning Tower of Pisa & blew out the Olympic torch, respectively (which was only a slight hint darker than his traditional red, blue, and yellow colors). The green Kryptonite that he received from Gus Gorman in Smallville had a very slow yet gradual effect on Superman.

Is Louis a new character we haven't heard of? And why would he get it on with him (and how the hell would he knock him up? Has he been speaking to Dr. Alex Hesse?)
Surely he would have done Lois Lane instead 😉😉

This is my favourite scene in my favourite movie series(apart from SIV). This scene makes me feel like I am a superhero and I dream about stopping terrorists flying planes into skyscrapers, blowing back tidal waves, absorbing nuclear radiation from an explosion, providing endless energy to the world by running a treadmill connected to a generator. ahhhh I love my childhood memories.
