It represents an abuse of government authority, a type of intimidation against a defenseless individual farmers questioning, "Why are you stopping me from earning a living?"-essentially, it's "Police Bullying" of civilians.

So you are a little behind, so let me catch you up. Earlier this week the judge amended the court order which now allows Amos to sell his dairy products to out of state consumers. This should keep Amos in business till this monkey business is done.

Lol no the court just clarifed that he's stopped from selling it from PA as barnes challenged the courts jurisdiction in not allowing commercial in other states.... courts clarified their riling had nothing do with with other stated.... miller is based In PA and can't sell from PA.
The quarterback is the public. My state of West Virginia just scratched ALL the laws for farmers selling raw dairy less one. And that law exempts the farmer from legal action from the consumer. Our farmers, who are state registered and inspected or course, can sell any and all raw dairy products to whomever knocks on their barn door. Be MOUTHY and VOTE VOTE VOTE.

Last year I bought a ram lamb and ewe lamb. My ewe is now pregnant! God willing a healthy lamb will arrive and i will be able to successfully milk the ewe for raw milk. I hatched 14 chicken eggs too! I get eggs daily! I'm taking baby steps towards food security. (I'll have to start over on the seedlings for the garden since the last freeze got the last seedlings... It's a learning curve and difficult without a warmed greenhouse, but one does the best one can! God bless all those going back to the good old days of "grow your own"! May God bless and keep you all.
Try a cold frame! Easy to make and effective! One can put milk jugs to absorb/retain heat to help. Lots of videos on how it's done.

I used to think that the Amish were independent of the United States government and not subject to their jurisdiction or laws. But it seems that the government will just Steamroller over everybody whether it be Native Americans or the Amish or the taxpayers for that matter.
That the Amish were independent of government laws unfortunately has not been true for a while now. Their buggies must have lighting (not candles), the wheels on their buggies have to be rubber (to lessen wear on road surfaces), the dairies must have refrigeration (Amish have a form of refrigeration that is different), etc.
The question we then raise: when does the regulation by the government become over regulation?

We are so blessed to have a local raw milk seller near us.
I USED to have access to raw milk but the State (Vermont) was demanding so much "red tape" through over-reaching regulations and restrictions that the Farmer stopped selling it. Excellent eggs, and some the best meat available is still sold at this Farm as is maple syrup, honey ,and maple cream . I buy a lot of my food from that beautiful Farm .

90% of my eggs and 60% of my meat comes from a Local Farm about 10 miles away from me. Some 50 % of my vegetables come from Farms 3 miles away and 5 miles away.

I'm an old farmer of self preservation. We've always grown our own food to some extent. Potatoes, green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash these were our main crops and they are easy to grow. Work, yes, but simple the hardest part is preparing the ground. No matter where you live you can grow something even people living in apartment complexes or small housing units whether it's on your Terrace or windowsill or just around the side of your house during the Great Depression these were called Victory Gardens.

When i was growing up in the 50s. We didn't buy much from the grocery. One uncle had dairy cattle, one raised beef, one raised pigs my great aunt made bread every day and we raised a Big garden. It was work but the food was wonderful

I've been buying some things from local farms for several years. I also started gardening 6 years ago. I'm in the process now of obtaining raw milk from a local farmer. Just go to Amos Miller Organic Farms. You have to be a member. $35 per year. All their meats, pickled veggies, snacks etc are there. They ship Mon-Thurs. I got my order within 3 days. Of course I didn't buy meat being so far away. But my family may get some as a gift. 😊

There has been an update in this case. Anyone outside Pennsylvania CAN get all of Amos Millers products. The judge stated the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture can only regulate within Pennsylvania NOT nationwide. So if you live in any state other than PA, you can get what you want.
lol yea no you're just misinterpreting what the judge said... he just clarified that the injunction applies to miller selling raw milk products from PA regardless of where the consumer resides.. barnes tries to claim the PA courts have no jurisdiction outside of PA the Judge agreed and stated that miller was selling from PA and that the courts do have jurisdiction over and he's not allowed to continue selling from PA....
A near relative of mine has taken to homesteading. Doesn't have the acreage to support cattle or sheep, but instead does have chickens and is now raising rabbits for meat. Just another alternative for those with limited acreage.
something is missing in this case, The Millers seem to have done everything lawfully. Specifically there is no statute that can impair the obligation of a contract. the contract makes the law. I listened to the attorney representing the case and he did not directly address this issue. thanks for the close coverage of the case.
That's probably why it will take 2 to 3 years. That's likely one of several angles to work it.

Planting on a small bit of acreage for the first time this season. And we have a small farm that raises cattle right down the street from us. But you don't have to live in the country. If you live in the city, there are butcher shops and farms close enough if you look them. We used to by enough meat to last a whole year from one we found 20 minutes away when we lived in the city.
Networking starts with your neighbors...eg 10..15..20..families..monthly meeting...then your representative meets with the reps of all the town...rep of the town has mayby quartely meeting with State reps...or something similar...I'm using CB radio for my networking...HAM. ..there is just so much advertising on these phones..makes one want to throw it in the bin...anyway..networking good for many..many things..eg us non working Mums take turns to pick up children from school..You are loved..You are beautiful...You are more than what you think you are...Love always.

Unfortunately your analogy is not only limited to food. The bureaucracy and overbearing regulations have been put in place by corporations for all small business owners by simply doing payroll with a few employees. Medicare, Social security, unemployment, benefits, etc. not to mention regulation for OSHA, EPA, USFW, county and local regulations, permits, and the list goes on. All of which has been driven by corporations to put in place to starve out small businesses. I fear it's gotten too deep to dismantle and revolution is the only remedy. Thanks for the facts you give. Most of us are FAR more concerned with the safety, if not serious health risks [including mortality] from present day mainstream food production and marketing than we are from the farmer. That mega corporations have a strangle hold on governments and thus us is profoundly disturbing. Worse these mega-corps put on the courts...telling them to "heel" to their bidding should have never been allowed. MONEY, insane amounts of money drives the system. Several years ago all food production in CONUS could be attributed to such companies that could be counted on your hands [yes, that's right]. Now I suspect they have dwindled to the point we could count them on one hand. One has to look at the mega-corp, and the various labels and brands that they each own. It is staggering I assure you. Presently my wife and I produce about 80+% of our food here on the farm. We no longer sell to others...due to the legal complexities.
Exactly! Most of what the mega corporations are selling is not food, but rather food-like products that damage our health!
Diversity in what you produce on your farm..is far more beneficial...are you allowed to give away your produce for a donation...a loving seed planted in the heart.

Sadly, I have seen products at 'farm to table' places that still had the grocery stores barcode tag attached. Flip side of that coin, a local market near me has some amazing locally made cheeses!

Thank you, Grace, for keeping us informed on this matter! In West Virginia, we have many farmers who raise vegetables and cattle. We quite often get beef and pork through a local butcher at a very good price. My wife decided to get a pig butchered last year, and, frankly, I'm tired of pork! We have friends that my wife is hoping that they will share a half side of beef with us. Thanks for the information, and keep looking up, for our redemption draweth nigh!!!

It's said the judge blamed it on the legislature. Rep Paul Takac is up for election this year, in an email to me he came out strongly against Amos Miller. I hope to help in his defeat, he is a very weak candidate.

By reporting with what the small farmers are having to deal to comply to unrealistic, awful, restrictive agriculture policies and short sighted laws in the local, state and federal government agencies in that by uncovering the truth and seeing down right almost in some cases, terrorists like behaviors levelled on our small farmers is unacceptable and unamerican shouldn't be happening at all. The public as a whole and consumers of these farm products must stick together with the small farmers and ranchers against these government agencies who've sometimes used overkill brutal tactics, like in the case of Amish farmer Miller, treating him as if he was a criminal. By showing our support standing up for their legal rights to do what they do best in their business as farmers, ranchers and the like is imperative . So don't stop, Keep up with the good work that you're doing in reporting exactly what is going on so we may continue to be of help spiritually, physically, even financially and legally as consumers às this has to stop.

If you listen to Dr Sabine Hazan you will understand why they don’t want us drinking/eating medicinal food. Food with good bacteria. It’s all about the gut microbiome, our immune system. The gut is the foundation of health. Feed those gut bugs. Feed them well. I stand with all farmers who bring us healing foods. This is a war on our gut bugs.
Depending on where you live, there can be a big learning curve for gardening and farming. For example: my totally loaded with fruit trees were stripped by squirrels in one night. Gophers pulled good plants under. You must build a fortress around and under your garden in some places. Using the small square wire fencing build a big enclosure for fruit trees and garden boxes with wire at the bottom after digging down in the ground then filling back in after the wire is placed. You can get a few cats but we also had coyotes that eat cats. Some places don’t have that many animal garden robbers. Great Pyrenees are the best for protecting your livestock.

As a farmer I've found that not enough good people are putting their money where their mouth is. I do understand though, our lamb costs more and money is tight.
I would pay more, knowing that what I am eating is healthy and nourishing. Odd thing is , I am paying a LOT less for meats and eggs purchased right from a Local Farm. Eggs at a market are well over 5 bucks, 7 bucks if organic . Straight from the Farm I mentioned: 4 bucks for organic eggs .
Getting sick from the Standard American Diet is more expensive especially given the predatory nature of our "health care" system. More like an illness promotion system. And if you can't pay then you go bankrupt. Yes. And the climate crisis is now the go to for explaining why food prices will continue to rise. I wish I could say that I can always afford to put my money where my mouth is. Patience and determination. I missed my dream of homesteading but it looks like I might just get there yet, thanks to all the phuckery. It will become the only way forward if the path we're on holds true.

We all need to pray that God will intervene save Amos Miller from these terrible false accusations and that he will be able to sell his healthy products to his customers. My husband and I have been buying our meats from a local butchery, meat that comes from local farmers. That also includes eggs, some cheeses, and other dairy. And I am scoping out more local farmers to purchase more of our foods, versus what comes in the big box government ran grocery stores.
Legal system going down and police . Sheriffs and the people will be in charge , Common law courts to come this year , " justice will come " ❤

I say that Amos Millers Lawyer needs to bring up the UNconstitutionality OF the ruling not only under the US CONSTITUTION ,BUT MORE OVER THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE CONSTITUTION WHERE it expressly states that a Pennsylvania citizens rights CANNOT be taken from any citizen within any city or county without the express consent of the citizen voting on removing any citizen Rights. Did any of the citizens in Amos Miller's county VOTE TO REMOVE any citizen the rights to NOT SELL ,PRODUCE OR REMOVE HIS GRANDFATHERD RIGHTS TO PREVENT OR CURTAIL HIS FREEDOM TO DO SO ??? I WOULD SAY MOST LIKELY NO I DON'T CARE WHAT THE PA AGRICULTURAL DEPARTMENT SAYS. THIS IS IN VIOLATION OF HIS & THE CITIZENS RIGHTS TO LIFE, LIBERTY AND THEIR HAPPINESS.
