Thanks for the great review Bakers! Your scoring system allows you to convey more detail about each phase of the experience to viewers as opposed to more simplistic grade scales. Rye's seem to be all the rage right now and I really enjoy several that are out there, but personally, I feel I'm ignoring the beloved bourbon. I generally like Knob Creek rye, the cask strength from 2019 and the single barrel rye's. However I am not a fan of seeing these older releases this year being cut down to 100 instead of being released barrel strength. Looking at you 1924, and now this bottle.
I had a pour of this a couple of weeks ago and really liked it. But at 100 proof it was thin but great flavors. So when I saw it on the shelf for $70 I passed. I think this would be a great starter into ryes for a bourbon drinker. Appreciate the review. Glad to have you back Laura

Glad you are back and doing well Laura! This might be a buy for me. I love Knob Creek 9 and 12 at 100 proof. I like the KC9 at 120 also but it seems a little hot to me which is odd because I love 115 to 130 proof stuff. I like a lot of high rye bourbons so this might be a good fit for me.
Yeah, its not bad, i was just expecting a lot more! Troy scored it pretty good, and in a couple weeks, hopefully it opens up and turns into something better!

Nice review! I will probably hold off on this one. I picked up a Knob Creek Rye store pick that’s really nice and I have so many other rye’s. I had the Little Book Chapter 8 the other night and it’s full of robust rye flavors! Cheers!

If I see it I’ll get it. I’m a KC freak so I’m in. I do like the 7 year but not as much as the Russell single barrel rye which is a banger. I like Rare breed rye and have a bottle on my counter always same with the WT101 rye. Every review I’ve seen on this it’s thin and somewhat underwhelming maybe it will open up? Honesty is the best policy. But again it may get better with time. Enjoy!!
We are sure hoping it opens up and gets better... statistically speaking, there is a lot to like about it!

Nice review, I think I will pass on this, I think I would prefer the Hemingway Rye (yes I know it’s finished) or the Old Overholt 10 for the money. 🥃🥃 cheers guys
Ive heard great things about both of those choices... and not so great things about the KC10, so completely valid!
Im bummed im a Knob Creek fan and was hoping this would be a homerun maybe they need to do Single Barrels at 120 like the bourbon to amp it up
It has great flavor, but something is missing. Probably 120 proof would make it amazing
