Used old credit cards to pry open case. No soldering iron so I spliced wires. Worked like a charm. The video was a great guide to start the project. Thanks
Thanks! Only thing I did differently was just splicing the new wiring in with a connector. I am terrible at soldering. Works fine. Love these buds but the batteries were no longer holding a charge. So great to keep them going.
Nice work! Make sure it’s insulated well where the splices are. Heat shrink tubing is a good option if you go the splicing route. Thanks for weighing in with your experience.
Guys, I cannot stress enough saying this but: BE CAREFUL OPENING THE CASE. I applied a little too much force to it and ended up reaping the charging PCB of the actual earbuds. They are located just beneath the lid, so do not stick the screw driver or do lever force too deep down. Now the journey continue in search of said PCB.
Hi, i have a question, currently my pair doesn't turn on sometimes when the buds has been taken out, and the case battery depleted in one day, does that mean my case battery is dead?
Thanks a lot, you did a fantastic job explaining how to open the case! And also the soldering process, it was my second time soldering! Thanks my earbuds just got new life
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. We’re happy you found this video helpful. It’s always a pleasure to hear positive feedback. Great work on the repair!
Hey my case seems to not be charging the earbuds, could this be the battery? also when i plug in the case, light on the case turns on. But when I unplug it immediately turns off and the earbuds are dead and not charging.
hello. my case couldn’t be charged, its light isn’t on when i connect case to power supply. is this due to the battery? ( i’ve charged the case with a 10volt charger😢)
Any idea of the circuit diagram? I am trying to add a QI wireless charging coil inside of the case. There is plenty of room for a qi wireless charging pad, however i need to know where a positive 5V input from the usb c plug and where a negative ground is. If I know where such inputs are i can solder the qi wireless pad against those.
My case seems to be charging but I changed the earbud batteries out and I’m still only getting around 2hrs play time. Could this be the case battery isn’t charging them enough?
Great video! I just ordered a new battery for these ear buds. The case stopped working when it is not plugged into main via USB charger. Out of curiosity, you mentioned dont touch the wires together, what would happen if you do? Kaboom?
Great guide. Doesn't help me unfortunately. Did everything the same way you did and similar videos I found. Tried a credit card to pry with. I can hear and feel all 4 clips unlock, but there's absolutely no movement. All I seem to be able to do is tear off the lid itself. Didn't have any trouble replacing the batteries in the earpieces themselves, had those 2 done within 10 minutes total. Oh well...

Hello, thanks for the question. It very well could be the battery. Did you notice a decline in performance before this issue?

Are there any replacement batteries for the Sonly Linkbuds S case that you know of?

Hello, thanks for for reaching out. We do not have that information unfortunately
A pain to remove the case lol...
But, very useful tutorial. Thank you.

Touch the positive and negative wires will destroy the battery and could start a fire. 😳
