    Ingredients
    • 5 lb whole chicken
    • 2 tablespoons Tsang’s oil or vegetable oil.
    • Everglades Fish and Chicken Seasoning to taste (for more info, see below). Make sure to use a low sugar chicken seasoning when using the Big Easy.
    • 6 oz of 6 Point Brewery Resin IPA
    Recipe Instructions
    1. Rinse the chicken and dry with paper towels.
    2. Apply the oil to the outside of the chicken.
    3. Season all sides of the chicken with the Everglades Fish and Chicken seasoning.
    4. Place room temperature beer in the beer can holder and then place the chicken in the Big Easy Basket.
    5. Place the basket and chicken in the pre-heated Big Easy Oil-Less Fryer on high heat.
    6. Cook until the chicken reaches 165 degrees F. For this cook it was 1.5 hours.
    7. Let the chicken rest for 15 minutes.
    8. Serve!

    The chicken looked absolutely awesome Jeff. Nice and juicy. Great cook. Looks like the beer can chicken holder needs a top handle to go in the Char Broil cooker to put in and take out easier.

    I made this today and it works well. Instead of the metal can I just used the beer can. One less item to clean!
    It cooks very fast. I did 1 hour 20 minutes and I thought it was almost over cooked. I've always used a charcoal Old Smokey and it cooks much slower.

    What i do with my beer cans is? make bees wax torches out of them. Use a rope or cloth for a wick. Simple to make fine a stick, broom handle ect take the beer can and tie it with bailing wire around the can and stick. tight. top and bottom. then make a wick > use a piece of wire to hold the wick in the middle. from rounded up cloth, or a cotton rope. and fill the beer can up with melted bees wax. Now you got some cheap and easy made patio torches ~ Runs out? make another wick and refill it with melted bees wax

      Great question. I always check with a digital thermometer. 165 F in the thickest part of the beast. We don't always show every step because it can make the video longer than some folks want to watch.

  • @handcannon1388

    It looks like it came out super tender and juicy. I don't have a BIG Easy, but obviously the recipe is adaptable to pretty much any type of grill/smoker that you may have. Most will also give you the option of adding smoke to the flavor profile. Why is it that beer can chicken looks so appealing; even though its posture so strongly suggests that it is concentrating hard on taking a dump? Once you think about it, you can't unsee it.

    I'm preheating my Big Easy, right this second and I got a bird on standby. I don't have the nice beer stand that you have though. That seems like it'll help with removing the chicken. I've done a few before. Not being able to remove the bird gets frustrating. I'll have to spring for that nice stand you got.

      Congrats on your new cooker! My tip is to stay away from using the lid because the outside of the meat gets overdone before the inside. Only time I use the lid is when I want to get a little darker during the last 15 to 20 minutes of the cook or if it's really cold out.

    • @jasoncarpenter7007
      @jasoncarpenter7007 5 років тому

      When temp checking, pull the meat out and check the lowest part of it. My thanksgiving turkey was done on the breast (which was positioned highest) but not done, even bloody on the thighs which sat lower. Also if the air temp when cooking is below 50F, use the lid for the entire cook otherwise it’s just for browning if air temps are warmer.

    • @Armadillopepper
      @Armadillopepper  5 років тому

      @@jasoncarpenter7007 Good tips Jason. Like you said, when it is warm definitely don't use the lid at the beginning of the cook.

      Meant to ask you a question far as babybacks go in the Big Easy. Will it give the ribs the same taste as it does coming off the grill? That's the only way I eat rib but always used charcoal instead of propane.

  • @bonganitshabalala3544
    @bonganitshabalala3544 5 років тому +1

    With this kind of method you don't really need to inject the chicken, the moist from the can it's enough to make the chicken juicy, it's just a suggestion, I tried it a few weeks ago and it came out soft, tender and moist...anyway job well done....

    I think I made a great garage sell find. I paid $15 for it and it came with a full propane tank! I love your videos, however, I am appalled at how people handle food. Touching the chicken with the seasoning container, handling it back and forth, most of the videos on line (not quite sure about yours) I see people taking a piece of meat from the kitchen to the Big Easy walking through the house or doing it outdoors on the ground with an unclean surface. I'm not a germaphobe, it just irks me to no end to see how people handle food and post it on UA-cam. lol
