Sure, if you want it by all means get it and enjoy. However, know that almost every aspect of it is made for towing and hauling and working. It's like using a chainsaw to cut your steak. Yes it will do it, but there are better choices.
Yes the high level trims on the 2500 have terrible payload. You get about 2500 lbs of payload in the mid-level trims and a little more in the Tradesman...for 4x4 diesel crew cabs, which I assume is how most trucks are these days.
0ttoman I heard production will start later this year, but that was before Ram decided to keep producing the old truck in the factory that was supposed to switch over. So not sure at this point what will be happening.
wouldnt count on one. those models represent a tiny fraction of trucks sold, most who want a RC want a long bed to use as a work truck, and most who want a SB want a crew cab since they likely have families and dont need to haul a ton of stuff in the bed. I'd guess ram sold less last gen RCSB 1500 than they did last gen manual 2500/3500 trucks, and they got rid of the manuals, so...
The Ram Rebel 2019 has new updated TAIL GATE with a lot of multiple functions, you can do traditional way or you can do like Barn Door to open. This 2500 Ram 2019 it seems like they don't incorporate the new tail gate!? Check the episode of The Fast Lane Truck:Tailgate Wars!

@@WeatherxCalipha Damn, a double whammy against Toyota. To say they have headwinds ahead is a major understatement. More like hurricane. IF Toyota gets it's act together and comes out swinging heavy there will only be two vehicles standing in 2022. Toyota & Ram even with Toyota showing their hand a year early. On the other hand if they do half measure they might as well sell stone wheels with hat new truck because that's what will be dragging around for the next 10 years. This is a fight Toyota can't come to 60lbs overweight. Ram trimmed 60#'s off the engine and other areas. Ford went on a diet. So for all of Toyota technological know how that's not enough they have to be "fit". Go Toyota 2021.

Definitely a nice looking rig. I’m still waiting for specs and reviews on Ford and Chevy’s gas motors though. I think those might really upset the diesel marketplace in terms of desirability.
Nice review of a well engineered and designed truck. RAM has done a great job on this one, amd just because they use the older body/bed, it still is a great truck. 2020 will change all that, as the HD's will be manufactured in Detroit.
wayne owen the 5th gen will be 2022. And now there is talk production will stay in Mexico. The new plant in Warren Michigan is now allocated for the full-size SUV Jeep. Maybe the Grand Wagoneer. Not confirmed yet. Either way, the 5th gen heavy-duty Ram will be in 2022.
Does anyone know why RAM opts to use the current year as the model year for their pickups as opposed to Ford, GMC and Chevrolet which use the year after as the model year i.e. a 2019 RAM 2500 HD vs a 2020 Ford F250 Super Duty despite the fact that they're being produced and sold in the same calendar year?
This is a really good looking truck. I’m not a Ram guy either. The column shifter looks super goofy though. It’s way too long and sticks out like a sore thumb.
I keep hearing how much the 3500 can tow and haul but never with the 2500, yes we know that it can tow 35,000 lbs or something like that but can the 2500 tow 35,000 lbs I'm looking on getting one but I don''t need a 3500 duelly.
Just make sure to check your pin weight requirements if you're towing heavy 5th wheel or gooseneck. The main difference between the 2500 and 3500 is for people with heavy 5th wheel trailers that have 3000 pounds or more of pin weight.
Its not brand new from the ground up. It uses the same old 4th gen cab with small rear seat unlike the 1500 which got the brand new larger cab and sick panoramic sunroof but its not like FCA is going to tell you that.
I own a 11 ram. Love the ram but! Their standard bed is the shortest bed of all full size trucks!! And yes it makes a difference. That alone is why i would not buy that truck again!! That being said not gonna sell it to get something different. They did miss the chance to go with a 8 or 10 spd auto. Also why do they still offer two power outputs. Other than that its a great looking truck with awesome interior.
The 2019 is even quieter. I don't miss the old clatter though, it's nice being able to order in the drive through and talk to someone beside the truck while it's running.
It looks awesome. As far as reliability we'll have to wait and see. I have heard about some problems with the 1500. I know that Cummins straight 6 will be indestructible though. Theres a reason the big rigs use straight 6 engines.

My 13 Longhorn has a 150 watt socket,,,,,, yes it runs a crockpot
How’s the handling and ride quality compared to the 1500?
i want a 2019 ram 2500 6.7l cummins, i don’t know much about diesel, how would this truck do as a daily driver/short trip truck, (no deletes) no towing or hauling, 6 miles to work and 6 miles back home? a grocery getter. long trip once a year. i just want a big truck, i like the sound of the 6.7l cummins diesel.
Sure, if you want it by all means get it and enjoy. However, know that almost every aspect of it is made for towing and hauling and working. It's like using a chainsaw to cut your steak. Yes it will do it, but there are better choices.
Please include the Payload as equipped. No reviews never do, and it is make or break for most that use a truck as a truck.
Yes the high level trims on the 2500 have terrible payload. You get about 2500 lbs of payload in the mid-level trims and a little more in the Tradesman...for 4x4 diesel crew cabs, which I assume is how most trucks are these days.
Its a beast!
I have a 2017 and love it
10dB is a 10x reduction in noise. 3dB decrease is 1/2 the level. 10dB reduction is HUGE...
Going into May 2019 now and still no 2019 2500 HD available in Canada !!! Sad, Sad, Sad !!!
When is RAM going to finally release a RCSB 1500? I don't want to pilot a cruise ship daily.. 😖
RCLB in tradesman for fleets gotta be option too
Around June this year is what I've been seeing
Going to order my tradesman in custom brown and 4.10 gears of the mountains.
The Ram Rebel 2019 has new updated TAIL GATE with a lot of multiple functions, you can do traditional way or you can do like Barn Door to open.
This 2500 Ram 2019 it seems like they don't incorporate the new tail gate!?
Check the episode of The Fast Lane Truck:Tailgate Wars!
tengcanete22 Correct - the Ram HDs don’t have the split tail gate.
Silliest thing I've ever seen. Never in all my years have I needed something like that.
im shure they will in the near future im shure they probably working on a heavier duty version for the heavy duty trucks
People are talking about ram being unreliable. But they don't mention what is unreliable about it.
these are the haters thats just stuck on stupid
@Sir Johnny exactly every manufacturer make so many good and bad trucks. but some people are brand loyal
@Sir Johnny the more emissions garbage on these newer diesel engines the more un reliable they are alk brands
@@bigbossman5969 agreed I sucked up and bought a 2013 2500 and I've got over $23,000 in repairs in it. I didn't realize it was a change over a year when I bought it and I will never buy the first year of any power plant ever again.
@@TheStax5150 thats understandble the first year of a vehicle is always going to have a bunch of problems
The best truck for cool men!
My dream truck for 2021. Lol But being a Toyota fan I'm waiting in suffering as I'm dreaming of a Toyota Tundra complete overhaul in 2021. I can wait couple years before deciding on a $60k+ truck. Hopefully Toyota will incorporate diff locks, some of the tech from the Land cruiser, does a nice interior along with 30mpg and we will have a winner.
Nothing impressive is it? Just catching up to the competition.
Wait till 2022, that's when the ALL-NEW RAM Heavy Duty will be released.
@@WeatherxCalipha
Damn, a double whammy against Toyota.
See I'm waiting for Toyota to take us back to the 7/8 truck. The one that can still pull anything but doesn't have to make 4 point turns in day to day driving.
Doesn’t matter how good or bad the “new” Toyota’s are the Yuppies and Snowflakes will still buy them sending their money to Japan.
@@bigjimflying7195
Toyota trucks are made in Texas. Employee American workers and use U.S. Steel and pay US taxes. I believe though the frame is from Mexico.
Cheers.
"....the top-of-the-line 3500 Limited with the high-output Cummins diesel stretches *above* $80,000."
Yeah no thanks...
Nice, but I still am scared to get one. Every Ram I see that is more than a few years old has the body rusting out. Dodge has been know to have been using the cheapest recycled steel in.the industry. Are these trucks any different?
Definitely a nice looking rig. I’m still waiting for specs and reviews on Ford and Chevy’s gas motors though. I think those might really upset the diesel marketplace in terms of desirability.
Alan Bowers fuck gas trucks
I would love to have adaptive cruise control
Many Commercial transport drivers use mega cabs as sleeper berths with the extra room
@@55afishead Thanks for correcting me!
martin joseph how mad are you they ram has a better truck then furd
In my opinion
Silverado-1
Ram-2
Ford superduty-3
What i think about the competition.
Overall or engine ?!
My preference:
1. Ram Cummins
2. Sierra/Silverado DMax
3. Ford 6.7
Everything else is a joke.

They don't they just didn't get it released at the end of 18. The 1500 was sold in 18 as a 19.
@@Jeremy-lu3nx So they're late in releasing it is what you're saying?
My dream truck
Luis ck is reviewing trucks?
Louie's baby bro, Huey. I ain't mad; ginger cub could get it.
no new guys. it has older 4th gen RAM Cab. which is 4 inches smaller
What is the difference between the 2500 and the 3500?
Well i like more the last generation and the front.
what is the tow rating for this truck?
Wish they had an Auto 4wd feature on it.
They need to bring back the eco diesel
It's coming in the 2020 model year
This is a really good looking truck.
2500 will be up to 19k pound range depending on which model
@@clamtj Great and what about the payloads?
George GodMan upmto 4000 on the 2500 and like 8000 on the 3500
@@noahranker4133 Thank you, I should have waited before I got my 2017 2500, I will get one.
Just make sure to check your pin weight requirements if you're towing heavy 5th wheel or gooseneck. The main difference between the 2500 and 3500 is for people with heavy 5th wheel trailers that have 3000 pounds or more of pin weight.
Does anyone know what it gets for mpg?
All those features and no telescope wheel.
Its not brand new from the ground up. It uses the same old 4th gen cab with small rear seat unlike the 1500 which got the brand new larger cab and sick panoramic sunroof but its not like FCA is going to tell you that.
Wait, no sunroof on this? Sweet! Can't stand them. I have one on my Lexus RX-350 and never use it.

"Clanky diesel noise" said as if that's not what a diesel truck is supposed to sound like
You sure about those payload numbers pal?
He said or you can fit you and your passenger in the back yeah we all thought it and we all know why you are gonna need that mega cab 😂
Better get an extended warranty on that air suspension!
True with any machine of this complexity. The more features the more things to break.
Semi trucks drive millions of miles with air suspension.. this is more reliable than you think lol
I miss the chatter of an old diesel. Thats the one complaint i have with my 2018...too quiet.
pleco652 straight pipe with a big tip. That’ll get that chatter back.
Quiet is the sound of a well-made vehicle. But if you're that nostalgic, maybe you can disconnect active noise cancelling?
The 2019 is even quieter. I don't miss the old clatter though, it's nice being able to order in the drive through and talk to someone beside the truck while it's running.

Big Jim Flying pretty sure they havent tested the new ram HD out in the open like this yet without pulling a trailer/being with Ram engineers.
Exactly what I was thinking!!
It will be coming
It looks awesome. As far as reliability we'll have to wait and see. I have heard about some problems with the 1500. I know that Cummins straight 6 will be indestructible though. Theres a reason the big rigs use straight 6 engines.
