Some really useful stuff here. I'm really digging Seth so far. That instant air axe kick is so big for the character. If you enjoy playing a lot of characters the character specific install combos are fun to mess around with
Couple of ones from my side... 1. Use st.hk a lot especially when you have your CA. st.hk - df.hp - CA. Wait for the jump on you and bingo. The hitbox of that move is soo high that nobody can dodge it in the air. 2.Activate your V-trigger blindly. The scaling is so bad that wasting your v-meter on the followup combo is just going to be a waste of meter. However if you land a couple of DPs, they are going to hit by 250 damage each. 3. Use v-skill 1 as a frame trap. Basically, activate V-trigger, use v-skill 1 to get the opponent closer and beat their +2 with a wonderful 250 damage DP.

For the fifth tip, you can also buffer st lk into v skill 2. More risky if you mess up the input or if its gets blocked but the reward of hitting is greater as you get v gauge, oki and corner carry.
Looks like a tiny bit more distance, you’re right but mp hands is better oki. You can dash up x 2 and beat their wake up 3f but f. Hp you can only get in one dash which leaves to farther out for worse oki. Corner carry is essentially the same. F. Hp does slightly more stun but you should do jump mp xx mk axe kick for stun if you want it as you dash up once for better oki. F. Hp ender is only ideal if you are VT cancelling into ex hands as it does slightly more stun than mp hands.
What’s the other inputs for doing the instant axe kick? I’m having trouble with your way. Is it qcb and then go diagonal forward immediately or do you complete the qcb circle motion all the way around to diagonal forward
I've been doing up, and quarter circle back super fast to get it pretty close to the ground. The shortcut doesn't work on stick i guess. Vesper should elaborate more on this motion.
Gordiesang I agree I can’t do it consistently and can’t figure out which method I’m doing when it does work. Seems to depend if I press kick on diagonal or forward. I do know you do qcb first and then jump forward on smooth motion. I just don’t know where to stop the motion Let me know if you ever figure it out
@@elitecompany1878 Try turning on Key Display and checking the difference between when you land it and when you don't. I usually miss it when I press kick too early. :)
Elite Company Think of the fight stick/controller pad as a clock. Assuming you’re starting from Right side of the screen, position your joystick 🕹 @ 6 o’clock position ending at the 1 o’clock position then pressing Lk.
I can´t for the life of me seem to get the QCB K after the axe kick teleport, is there anything i´m missing? If someone would submit a combo string involving VT1 with axe kick teleport i´d be grateful :D
Yo Vesper, great vid! helped lots with my first character Seth. I was wondering whats your advice on Seth's v-triggers? I am pretty comfortable with his v trigger 1 right now and was wondering if I should learn his others. Thanks! Keep it up
Seth is interesting so far and I picked him up so I could learn some of his weaknesses when playing against him. I main Birdie and so far I feel Birdie wins the matchup. In general, I can see Seth struggling against characters with good zoning buttons like Birdie, Chun, kolin, etc. He has to take some risks to get in and they can just rely on their max range buttons for the most part.
When air super moves were being integrated into games such as Darkstalkers, they had the strange quarter circle motion but starting at up and rolling down. I’ve a feeling most couldn’t handle it and they soon put it to QC from down like on the ground. I wonder if that would have benefitted players better to keep the original for moves like Seth’s axe kick instead of finding tricks like here?
DramatikNote yes, but she didn’t appear until Third Strike in 1999. Darkstalkers 3 came out in 1997 and by then had abandoned the up-to-forward QC move for the traditional down-to-forward QC Motion that the Marvel games popularized for aerial supers.
@@SAPProd yeah that's true but you still see those motions in some games. Even in Marvel. Magnetos Magnetic blast is QCF from up. I just couldn't see them changing the motion for this move in particular. Having to Tiger Knee the input is a fair tradeoff for using the move so low to the ground in my opinion.
Marco H not Vesper but i’ll give you my insight if you don’t mind. Personally, I prefer vs2. You can do it into QCF+p to close distance and still be plus on block, it gives you corner carry without having to use EX QCB+k and if you time it you can use vs into QCB+k to evade fireballs and on hit combo into EX QCF+p. Vskill 1 is also really good, its got good range so you can use it to whiff punish, good space will allow you to catch someone throwing fireballs and the move taken can be used to extend most combos (just certain moves connect off certain attacks). It also feels good to take moves. He has a good pair of Vskills but i think the fact that he can avoid fireballs with CR.hp and QCB+HK at close range make Vskill 2 better for me. It’s all preferential though so id really just say play with what works best for you but more importantly what you have fun with. Hope this helps.
Vesper I am trying to do the Cammy version on ex cannon strike . I can’t do it ! I have been playing her since season 1 and I am super plat but I cannot understand this technique. Please help! I am using ps4 controller.
VesperArcade Weird thing, sometimes it actually happens and her EX cannon strike comes out with this method and it is +4 on block on standing opponent. It seems that it is restricted on the first block of the training stage, which is really low as well. I wish you could test this because I am kind of confused!

Yeah I was Nash only for over three years (will always be my favorite character) and once I started trying new characters, not only did my Nash improve but I also discovered first hand from the other side of the screen why he isn't good.
Nerfs just brought him in line with the rest of the cast. You still playing seth? I've actually been enjoying him even more after nerfs, gameplay feels more interactive

Can you make a video of your hands doing the input on pad? I'm struggling at doing the motion consistenly
Just qcb before U jump don't worry about the single motion stuff it's not needed
Also, if you break armour with VS1 you get counter hit which means you’re plus 4 and can combo Zangief or Abigail and keep the suck move.

Mp hands is a better ender after ex spin kick, jump mp. Gives you better corner carry and better oki.

That Ax input is fucking so hard to do on gamepad because you have to wait for the Sound que of you jumping

Since Cammy has a height restriction for cannon strike in SFV you cannot TK it.
