I spent about a yr looking for a rug for my kitchen. Finally found it on marketplace. Super affordable and looks great. Very much worth the wait for a quality rug in an odd size. Keep searching, you will find it! Thanks Garrett! Love your channel!
So glad that you understand the difference between cheap in cost vs cheap in quality. I ADORE a bargain! FB Marketplace is my first stop when looking for quality on a budget. Found an amazing vintage Chesterfield leather sofa for $300. I reconditioned the leather, but it’s gorgeous.
I had to laugh at the crushed hotel pillow. I finish off packing by putting my king size very plump pillow on top, and work just a bit to get the suitcase closed. Have pillow will travel.
You must stay in hotels a lot. We own a camper we go to every other weekend in northwestern PA. We're building a house out there, but the camper keeps us comfy. We have beautiful fat pillows.
I just re-decorated my spare room, and that lamp is perfect. I just ordered it! I hate blinds also, but they give you some privacy and light control. Love “bottom up shades”.
Good Morning Garrett, Lol the walls for exfoliating, that’s classic Garrett for you, love that for me😻 Thank you for the vlog. Totally agree to everything you mentioned. Yes my eyes went to that gorgeous lamp and the black frame of the painting, so I am sure going to check the Amazon link, not that I need a lamp now but future references 😍 Have a beautiful week ahead, stay healthy and stay happy🥰🤗
My dad was “raised during the Depression” cheap. And yet he always bought the best paint possible-if he spent money on something, you know I’m going to!
OMG! The last comment about what Garrett needs from his walls...that was too much! 😄 😄 🤣 It's like the whole video led up to that one perfect delivery.
When I bought my house back in 2001 they had those darn aluminum blinds up everywhere. I hated them. One day I literally stood up, walked over to them and ripped them off the wall. I was done. I put up cheap curtains, etc. and made it work out and then I got nice ones when I updated my house.
I'd say that if your kitchen is big enough and your home isn't ultra-modern, skip a bit of cabinetry and put in a freestanding armoire, display cabinet, or antique/vintage hutch.
@@mpetersonification I bet it's gorgeous!! I used to be in an old house that had very few cabinets. I was disgruntled till I started researching freestanding kitchens. I put pieces in and loved it! I got so many compliments on it. I think there's an untapped marked for less cabinetry.
I couldn’t agree more regarding cheap paint.Beside being a cheap look, it’s diffi to paint with too and you usually have to apply more coats to achieve half-decent coverage. I don’t think it’s cheaper in the long run.
I hate blinds too! I’ve had plantation shutters now for awhile and love them. Lot-o-dusting, but easy maintenance. To me, they are timeless. I am thinking about a virtual discussion with you concerning my LR and adjoining DR. I just need some advice. How long should I book it for?
Thanks for sharing! I’d absolutely love to assist you. Please go to intro.co/garrettlechic It’s very easy and the available times are already in your time zone. If you have a VPN on your device, just turn it off while making your booking. I would recommend either an hour or at least half hour interior decorating consultation. 😀😀😀
Thank you for sharing these thoughtful design insights, @Garrett LeChic! As always, much appreciated! 🙏🌿💐🌿😊💚😘🌿💐🌿🙏 P.S. I love Farrow & Ball paints. What are some of your favorite paint brands? Since paint can be such a helpful space-refresher, it might be a popular topic if you gave us your overview on paint brands, the different grades, shine/sheens of paint, & when/how/where they are best used? Please?--it might be a topic a good many of us would love to hear you explore & explain?
I'm spoiled here. I love natural light , my condo faces north/south (the bay to the left and the Manila skyline to the right) I live on the 33rd floor so I don't have to worry about blinds.
I hope this makes the "first hour" window. I haven't posted in several years but I've been watching you since your early days. Right now I'm trying to figure out paint and drapes for my bedroom and guest room and it's so confusing. This video was timely. Thanks.
When I remodeled my kitchen 20 some odd years ago, I found that a custom kitchen which not that much more expensive once you factored in the demo and dump costs, the work to make sure the walls are even, etc. unless of course you are going to diy it.
The cheap pillow insert! They are awful aren't they? But I've been doubling up on the inserts, putting two larger ones into the one cushion cover. I like the extra "hardness" as I have RA and they give good support. Great for everyday use. Cheers Garrett!
Great advice as always!! In my home country blinds are not popular, it was a shock when I moved and found them everywhere, those tiny ones are the worst! Also a nightmare to clean. I love the white paint color in your studio , could you please share the name?
At the moment, we only have drapes in the bedroom and in the guest room. We also have good blinds as well. However, our kittens use the curtains for Olympic events. No matter how many times you tell them off and get them down, as soon as your backs turned they are back up them. They are not allowed in the Guest Room as it’s a “Cat Free” room, thank goodness. Therefore, we only have blinds (good quality ones), on all the other windows in our house. We do not have a dinning room rug under our table, but we do have rugs in the living room and bedroom and runners in the kitchen. Is it OK not to have a rug under the dining room? Love listening to you and your humour 😂❤🤗🇨🇦
I’d have to see the space and the furniture. It’s likely I could come up with a solution. I’m happy to do a virtual consultation with you. intro.co/garrettlechic
I hate blinds. It is ugly and it give me a feeling if I am in prison. It makes it dark in the house. No, I hate them. But the USA probably love them, because I see them in EVERY video. Except with Garret in the house. 🙃 Irma from the Netherlands

Glad it was helpful!

❤Happy Sunday!!!! Sending *LOVE* to Garrett and the entire Le Chic family!!!!!❤
Same to you! Thanks.😊
After a consultation with Garrett and LOTS of negotiation here I finally got rid of the terrible cropped rod curtains, halleluya!
Yay! It was a great pleasure consulting with you!😊😊😊
What are cropped rod? I’ve probably done it.
Pulling the rug under my sofa as we speak 😂Thank you!
My pleasure!

9:10 the little baby rug under the coffee table, I laughed out loud at this

I put a small free standing amoire/hutch in my kitchen about a year ago and it took my kitchen to another level!❤❤

My experience (limited!) with matte paint is: if you buy a good grade of paint, it is cleanable and looks fabulous.
Agreed!
Another great video!🖤
Thank you!!
What are your thoughts on 2” wood blinds. Similar look to the ones at minute 11:50 in your video?
It depends. I’d have to virtually see the blinds in question or at least photos of them, and the space and window(s)they would be used in.
I couldn’t agree more regarding cheap paint.Beside being a cheap look, it’s diffi to paint with too and you usually have to apply more coats to achieve half-decent coverage. I don’t think it’s cheaper in the long run.

I will follow the pillow insert advice
Awesome!
A cool way to save money is to buy clearance throw pillows that are nice but ugly and use them as inserts.
Excellent, as always ⭐️
Thank you! Cheers!

Are windows with great blinds but no additional window treatments a no-no?
Not necessarily if the blinds are really nice in my opinion.
