I love color. I have a very small house, only six rooms. But I used five different paint colors :-) I love it. I don’t care if anybody else does or not.

Garrett, your "be yourself and decorate your way" talk was much appreciated. I finally got the go-ahead from my husband to redecorate our dining room and I want to really love what I do with it. I have already painted the upper part of the wall "Blissful Blue" and the chair rail on down are painted "White Dove". Yesterday, on a whim, I decided to hang six golden bird sculptures on the largest wall above a gold-framed Renoir print called "The Skiff". It's going to feel like a flock of birds are flying through the room! Call me crazy but I think it's going to be magical and memorable. Keep the encouragement coming. I love your style and fun, sassy presentation.

We recently painted our walls. What a difference color makes. I chose Sherwin Williams Tidewater. Oh, what a beautiful blue! It has green undertones so sometimes it looks blue and sometimes it looks teal. Turns out that paintings in our home that are probably 30+ years old have shades of that color in it. ❤❤

Thank you for an idea! I’ve not thought about painting my hallway. Why? I don’t know. I have a good size collection of advertising thermometers from the 20s through the 50s.The graphics are beautiful! I think I’ll pick a color and paint the hallway and my collection will have a place finally! You gave me a good nudge sir! 🙏🏻❤️🐩

My mom gave me a large painting as a housewarming gift. I chose my paint color based on what looked good with the painting for my downstairs living spaces. Benjamin Moore Wind Chime. A soft moody gray green.

Very good point on wood tones. Most people are scared to do this. Great visuals for all examples. I love how you always stress having individual style & a home that reflects this. Your final advice is so very needed in interior design & our lives in general: especially the way that everyone is basically acting like sheep relentlessly following social media trends. You are a treasure! Thank you ⭐️

So thank you for being YOU♥️
And please forgive me if my language is not sometimes right or confusing🙃

Our interior was painted (mid-beige with soft-white trim except for the primary bathroom) just before we bought it in 2019 so it seemed a bit of a waste to repaint the whole thing. However, as we've remodeled some areas in stages, I decided to pick my favorite color. The kitchen now has soft, unsaturated teal on the new cabinets and crown molding (BM Templeton Gray); I chose a dark teal for the dining room (Vanderberg Blue). I love it! I'm so happy that they now sell peel-and-stick large samples of the actual paint. I ordered several tones of the hue I wanted and was able to place them in different areas over several days to see how the lighting at different times made them look - SO much easier than painting swatches.

Our living room is lavender, our kitchen is gray, our family room is icy blue, bathrooms are green, oldest daughter's room is a minty green, youngest daughter's room is pink, our room is aqua and gray. I'm wanting to change the kitchen but I haven't made a decision yet, hall bath will be a light blue, our room will probably be a light green with a dark green accent wall and master bath will be dark green. I LOVE color!!!

I wish you would do a video just on ceilings. I mean, it's the 5th wall, but it's just skipped over when anyone speaks about it. It's got more potential than a ceiling rose and a coat of paint..... it's the FIRST thing I look at when I go somewhere new! A plan white ceiling, and I am just soooo disappointed in the whole space.

Totally agree! I told my designer that ceilings are a huge priority for me. There will be tray ceilings in the master bedroom and living room, but we couldn't do that anywhere else. So those will need paint, moulding, mullions, medallions -- SOMETHING to make them more special than just plain flat blah white.

I’m not sure if you are watching all my videos, but I talk about ceilings regularly. Painting them a different color, or the color of the walls included in a color drench, wallpapering, have decorative ceilings applied as I do in my home, ceiling medallions. All things I’ve spoken about as a way to take advantage of the often ignored “fifth wall” ceiling in previous videos.

Hello 👋 when we relocated from the states to P.R. We didn’t bring anything with us except our clothes. We remodeled our home and have lived here for 10 years and it’s still not completely furnished because I want specific pieces. Nothing matches but everything goes well together. I'm here for specific content and i remember some of your older videos where you had technical advice on things like accessibility that I really benefited from. How about a deeper dive on paint finishes, specific paint bases, pros and cons and con jobs where some paint company says it's good (who advertises low quality?) but it's not that great in real life... :)

I devote allot of time to making knowledge based videos on a multitude of design subjects. Also, I try to produce videos that viewers tend to watch and are interested in. This is not a hobby for me so I have to strongly consider what the general viewership wants to see. Sometimes these deep dive videos don’t seem to do as well as we would hope especially if it’s about one specific subject. I also offer my virtual consultation service at intro.co/garrettlechic for anyone having decorating difficulties or needing to discuss specific decorating issues.

All the same paint in all the rooms is boring. I absolutely agree. I also hate the same tile in the kitchen and all the bathrooms, also laundry, mudroom. This just seams lazy to me. Ether that or the person just has no design sense, well that worked lets do it again, and again, and again. Unless the rooms lead off one another, be bold do something different.

Every single UA-camr has the same house. Same stuff! Selling, selling, selling their stuff. Partnering with questionable stores or whatever they are saying. They're doing all this stuff and they're really not. They're just trying to sell! And all their houses look the same!

You know I don’t comment on specific influencers. At the end of day, we all have a finite amount of time and I think it’s ultimately up to the viewer to decide what to watch and spend time on. I’m really busy so I limit what I watch. I try to produce knowledge based videos with information viewers can use or consider now regardless of what their design style is. I don’t spend much time pushing sales in my videos and my furniture is to valuable to change with the winds of trends. If I suggest a product it’s because I truly like it, or if I collaborate with a brand it’s because I like and believe in the company and their products. I turn down brand collaborations almost daily and only select the ones I believe are appropriate and worthy to be on the channel. 😊😊😊

Another great video! Thank you for sharing so many great points and suggestions. I particularly appreciate the comments on different wood tones. Now I realize why some peoples houses look sort of static. It’s the blah same wood tones everywhere.
I also love it when people have unique items in a room that seem a bit quirky. There’s always a story and the story is always interesting!
