I have been a massive fan of Mark and Dire Straits since the late 70s and he never disappoints me, he is a mega-talented Singer/Songwriter, and man he is one of the greatest guitar players EVER, he is equal to the best, Eric Clapton, Jimi, Muddy Waters, Rory Gallagher, etc. My love for Dire Straits reached a pinnacle when I saw them live in The Point Depot, Dublin, Ireland, in the early 90s and they were magnificent, Mark and the boys were on top form and sent me to Rock Heaven, especially a 15+ minute version of 'Romeo and Juliet'. ROCK ON MARK! I was also in beautiful Paris in the late 90s, and I fell in love with the city, it is my fave city on Planet Earth!

Dire Straits is one of my favorite bands of all time. I so appreciate Mark’s excellence in writing and performing. I have been sharing his performances with my family and friends. This is good. As someone stated in another comment Mark can play a broomstick and make it sound good.
