With all honesty this is the Sony Camera I would buy of the bat. The Sony A74 is Sony's answer to the Panasonic S5 and Panasonic S1 except without the raw capabilities yet, And its Sony's answer to the Canon R6, Canon R5, Nikon D780, Nikon Z5 and Nikon Z62 which I am interested in especially the Nikon Z5. Merry Christmas to both you and your loved ones
specs wise maybe the answer.. but the artistic of the images are always very different between canon, pana and sony.. its a matter of choise. My old c100 mk2 produces better image in term of colors and dynamics in particular lightning then those newest sony.. but the c100 is not pratical to use..
Quick question... I'm looking into this camera body. If I'm shooting with the Sony G 16-55 2.8 (aps-c lens)... can I still utilize 4k60p 10 bit? I'm thinking yes?
The camera is impressive. It feels really good in hands. The build quality is just as good as the A7SIII. The 7K oversampling 4K footage is so sharp and detail. Much sharper than the A7SIII ☺️
I am planning to get Sony A7IV, but I am Canon user for loooong years.. But love the new Sony A7 IV. Appreciate any recommendations/references/suggestions to be with Canon or shift to Sony A7 4
Can’t go wrong with either one. They both great. So it depends what image do you prefer more. Canon has got nicer skin tone and Sony has better lowlight performance ☺️
Is there a Neutral picture profile on the Sony A74. Also as I have an i5 processor laptop I shall probably film in 10 bit HD on both the Panasonic S5 and Panasonic S1 and Sony A74. But do cinematic films and I interviews with them and the Canon 90D and Nikon Z5. My four year plan to create my own little empire. I shall start with the Nikon D750, Canon 80D, Panasonic Gh5s and Panasonic Gh5 first.
It’s hard to pick. They both really good. The R6 can do full frame 4K 60p, but the A7IV gives you sharper 4K due to the high megapixel sensor. The 7K oversampling 4K looks like the Canon R5 in HQ mode ☺️
Question, would the rolling shutter be reduced if you shoot 4k 24p in crop mode compared to full frame mode? Not for slow mo but for those fast panning shots. Thank you!
Hi, congratulations for the very interesting video. I'd like to ask you a question. For me the stabilization of a camera is very important because I make all my documentaries around the world freehand, without tripods and without stadyshot. If I had to buy the Sony A7 IV and the Sony FE 24-105mm f / 4 G OSS, could the two stabilizations, both of the camera and that of the lens, work together and in synergy? Do you think the Sony A7 IV with Sony FE 24-105mm f / 4 G OSS might be the right camera for me or is it better that I look to another camera with better stabilization? Thank you very much
The stabilization is pretty good. It has active mode and also gyro info you can post edit in catalyst to get even smoother footage. Both of those, as well as your normal stabilization you can do in Premiere or Davinci make it very smooth.
@@dsipictures I am so pleased it has unlimited recording time limit. Probably try and purchase it during the January sales alongside the Nikon Z5 and Nikon D750 and Canon 90D
It depends what you like, for me I love shooting long. So I always go for a tele lens. But if you preferred just one lens. 24-70mm is always a handy one for all round ☺️
@@dsipictures followed you on Instagram too! Was thinking something along the lines of: How to shoot video like DSI Pictures? Perhaps can cover the camera settings, lenses used, framing, what’s your thought process and finally how you put the footages together e.g. colour grading and music selection. That’ll be totally awesome video!
Sony Stabilization is not that great, that’s for sure. But that wasn’t the reason why I went with a gimbal. Some of shots I just want to have that smooth tracking look 😊
How do you like this camera compared to the Panasonic S5? They are roughly in the same category but the price difference (~$800) isn't small. 80% for video, photo would be great but far less priority
I got both cameras. The S5 and A7IV. And I would go for the A7IV. First, the 7K oversampling 4K is a lot sharper and more detail than the S5. Second, the A7IV got amazing Eye AF for video. Great for gimbal work. Third, the S-Cinetone color is so nice. I mean the Panasonic color is pretty good. But the S-Cinetone is better. Fourth, the lowlight performance on the A7IV is just insane. Below ISO 12,800 is just as clean as the A7SIII. But the S5 fall apart after ISO 6400. Fifth, Sony got more lens choice than Panasonic L-Mount. But don’t get me wrong, S5 is also a nice camera. Such as the 12Bit 6K ProRes RAW output. Mind you, you will need to spend extra $600-700 for the Ninja V recorder. So that’s almost the price for the A7IV. So it depends what you shooting. If you do a lot of gimbal stuff and you want amazing video AF. Definitely go for the A7IV. But if you like the 12Bit 6K quality and you often shoot on a tripod and slider. S5 is also a great camera 😊
