The car's Owner is Bob Marquardt. Bob’s had this car since 1980. He shares after seeing his Dad’s 1967 Plymouth Sport Fury, he saw the 1968 Plymouth Dealer Brochure and said he’s interested in the 1968 car.

Nice color. I love those old float boats. Thanks Lou!

Beautiful Plymouth. My dad bought a new '68 Fury ll when I was eight year's old. Hard core Mopar fan from that point on. I learned to drive in that car and got my driver's license in that Fury.

Hi Jeff, Happy to read you enjoy this episode :-) You're welcome, Lou
Another car my parents had in the mid 70’s. Theirs has a 383 engine. Dad bought it for $300 bucks (everyone getting rid of gas pigs after OPEC gas crunch). They had it 3-4 years, gave it to an older brother and a few man moths later the back end froze up on him totaling the car. It was a very comfortable car to drive with 5 kids in it!
Hi David, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Parents car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
@@loucostabile Thank you Lou!
Sweet car owned by one the nicest people I have ever known.
Hi Scott, Happy to read you enjoy this "Sweet car" with a sweet Care Taker too :-) Lou
I had a 67 Sport Fury and a 68 Fruy 3 was. Two of. This body style I owned.
And as usual thanks for going to car shows and posting this.
Hi Gary Mckee, You had some fun cars :-) My pleasure sharing the cars with you, and you're welcome. :-) Lou
I like how you'll feature regular cars along with hemi cars and hi dollar cars.
Hi Korie, if they're cool, and / or a good story, I enjoy sharing them with you :-) Lou
My father was a Chrysler man so, besides his optioned out 64 New Yorker, he bought (a smaller?) car for my mother, a 68 Plymouth Sport Fury! What a wonderfully roomy car that had plenty of giddy up. He ended up giving it to one of my brothers in the mid 70 (my mother replaced it with a Datsun 410) and the rear end ended up freezing up ; then he junk it. A beauty for sure! Thx Lou!
Hi Dave, Happy to read this car brings back memories :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Please remember to watch the commercials at the beginning of the video (or at least the ones you can), as that's how I get paid so I can keep sharing with you :-)

Boy that's one hell of a rider isn't it Lou, the old boys got all the caps on it all original beautiful automobile absolutely beautiful how it looks just like they pushed it off the showroom floor.
Hi Mark Anthony, You're right, this one is an original beautiful automobile :-) Lou
Love the Mopar Lou, and this is one cool Blvd cruiser. :-)
Hi Ed B., Happy to read you "Love the Mopar" :-) Lou
outstanding vehicle .....that interior,beautifull
High praise :-)
That's a great ride with in a cool shade of blue.
My '72 Challenger R/T had a 318 and the Slap-Stick Torque-Flight. Buckets, console, AM/FM, but no AC or power windows either. Tawny Gold Met, Frost vinyl top, Gold vinyl interior.
Bought it in '84, from the original owner, who got it new from LaGrange Dodge in IL. Drove it from my first duty station in Bremerton to San Diego, then to Dallas, on to Houston and back to San Diego. Smooth and solid that whole extended trip.
Then it took me between Camp Pendleton and San Diego a couple of times each week and several times to LA.
I never had a mechanical issue with that car. Just changed the oil, belts, hoses, and gave it a tune up when I was bored. No leaks either. The rockers started rusting an traded it for a '76, fully loaded, 54k, Anniversary Gold Met. Buick Regal S/R. Every available option except a moonroof. Soon after I bought it from University Ford in SD, the transmission had to be replaced under warranty. It never down shifted correctly again. The replacement torque converter was cheap.
Man I miss 60's-early 70's cars!!! No black boxes. What on earth happened?
Thanks for posting.
Hi solemandd67, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this cool blue car :-) Glad to read this brings back memories of your 72 Challenger, and thank you for viewing and sharing. Regarding this posting, you're welcome, Lou
Just beautiful Lou! I love the color and the color top and interior. Very nice and big and roomy! He sure loves his car and I love the enthusiasm he has for his car that makes the video too. Looks like a new car yet! Thanks for sharing Lou!
HI Steve Flad, High praise for the looks of this car :-) You're welcome, Lou
Looks like a great car show.
A good one for sure. Hope you can stop out next year.
Lou Costabile definitely going to try!
I’m picking up a 68 fury sport this Friday I’m so excited
Congratulation!
Well Bob is awesome to keep his First Car all these years! What a awesome example and and choice. I know Bob said it didn’t have A/C or Power Windows but and there is a BUT, You can add After Market A/C they have all kinds of looks to look almost Factory. I would Definitely have it unless he lives up north. Love this Look. I was a HUGE fan of this style in 67 and ‘68. Then came the Fuselage look after this. And that HARD TOP Feature makes it.
Hi gene978, Happy to read your kind words for Bob and his Care Taking of this car :-) Lou
My dad had the same car and the same color. I can’t believe I found this video.

Hi George, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) My pleasure to share with you and you're welcome, Lou
I like big old cars with vertical headlights. This one is no exception.
Hi Chuck Ster, Happy to read you like big old car :-) This car meets those requirements, Lou
Great car, not sure if it was the sun but the driver side front fender appears to be darker than the rest of that side, thanks for sharing Lou have a great day 😃
Hi Greg from TX, Happy to read you think this car is "great" :-) Lou
Beautiful color combination! I'm surprised that it is only a 318! I thought that the Sport Fury and Polara 500 had the base 383 and optional 413/440! Dodge planned for vertical headlights for the 1967-'68 Polara/Monaco at first but changed to the horizontal headlights to cut costs!
Hi Olias of Sunhillow, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Seems the 318 might have a challenge moving this car, however it seems to be ok, Lou
@@loucostabile, yeah, they put the 318 in other Furys and Polaras but I thought that the 393 was the base engine in the full size Sport and 500, since the 318 was the base engine in the Sport Satellite/Coronet 500 and the 383 was optional! It would make more sense with the size of the cars! All in all, it is a beauty! Sorry Twilight!
There is no a/c on this car so the LA 318 is easy to work on except changing ignition points is a pain with the distributor in the back. Some people preferred the older 318 poly the LA 318 replaced it in 1967.
That's cars clean in and out love to see the cars that were a common sight when I was a kid not so much today keep them comming
Hi larry borkstrom, You're right, this is a clean car :-) Lou
Hi, Lou! Bob certainly has great taste! That Fast Top styling with the backswept rear side window and triangular sail panel is pretty unique. Plymouth introduced this style on the 1967 Sport Fury and VIP, then added a Fury III version for '68. The big Dodge and Chrysler two-door hardtops had this style too. This was one of two hardtop styles offered on the Sport Fury and Fury III, the other having a triangular rear side window with a slimmer C-pillar. I also like the instrument layout and the full-circle red panel in the back (the middle portions are red paint). Although Plymouth and many other cars followed Pontiac in adopting stacked headlamps, the Fury was one of the few cars that still had them in '68, the only others being the Cadillac DeVille and Fleetwood and the AMC Ambassador. As big as Bob's car is, their successors with the "fuselage" styling were even bigger.
I can relate to Bob wanting to follow in his father's footsteps. It's a wonderful way to pay tribute to him. If I was able to, I wouldn't mind having a 1961 Chevy wagon to remember the '61 Impala my grandfather had.
Bob has proved that the movement, the momentum, the win-you-over beat that Plymouth started back then is still going on! Another job well done, Lou!
Hi iswc27, Happy to read you think Bob has great taste :-) Thanks for sharing, and my pleasure sharing the cars with you, Lou
Hi Bob & Lou:: Yes: cool ride and a classic Plymouth Fury. Nice 😎

i thougth the same: nice interior, i particularly like the steering wheel
Hi Pete Median, Happy to read you enjoy the looks and sounds of this car :-) Lou
what a realy wonderful car
High praise :-)
There is another one of these that is at the Chryslers at Carlisle show every year. It is also a 68 Fury fastback 2 door, but it's a Fury III, so the interior is different. But it's also this color blue with a white top. The guy who owns it has it in the survivor's tent every year.
Hi Sa Sz, Hmmm, maybe a future episode. Here is one I think you'll enjoy, Lou ua-cam.com/video/s2CaGdA1Gsg/v-deo.html
My dad had the 1968 Fury VIP in dark green metallic paint and dk green interior. You could fall asleep on the hood, it was that big

The hood being raised was like a giant gator's mouth - I'd of approached with caution! (heh). Yeah, I kinda love this car. Bob's pride in his ride is well earned. Excellent!
HI ImTheDaveman, "The hood being raised was like a giant gator's mouth" I like that :-) Good one, Lou
That is a true American classic car. I don’t know when Plymouth decided to quit placing the ‘Red, white, and blue’ insignia in & on their cars, but I always appreciated their nod to the USA. I know that my 1993 Plymouth had no such insignia. Thanks, Lou! ☺️☺️
Hi Rusty, Glad to read you enjoy this "American classic" :-) You're welcome, Lou
Perfect Lou, "ill give you some time to meditate on that"
Mopars are my meditation, my friends had a joke, "most guys have playboy under their bed, korie has mopar action magazine"
Now that's true but it's because I didn't have any book shelves & nothing silly happened, lol.
The c-body's in 67-68 are really cool. My favorite is 67 dodge polara, almost bought 1 it was white with red interior.
Hi Korie, You picked the right magazine :-) Lou
Plymouth Road Runner

id buy the 1968 Plymouth Fury III in buildable condition before i ever bought a EM Tesla S model...
:-)
Beautiful car great video lou . I also learned something I thought the sport Fury s came with 383 I think he said this car has at 318
The 318 was the base engine.
@@markg7030 indeed. Apparently the 383 and the 440 were optional......
Hi acts2210, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) I can see people share info on your engine question, Lou

@@loucostabile Oh yes definitely, he loved his, it was his pride and joy. Next time we meet I’ll show him this video. I can’t wait to see his face light up! Such a shame, we wanted to get him a 55 Chevy Bel air too but there’s none on sale in the Uk aswell as the fury.
Nice car , my brother had a new 67, I remember the under the dash 8 track, his had air, nice car, gotta do a blend from that fender to the door, no reason for that, it’s night and day, it’s a beautiful color
Happy to read this video / car brings back memories of your Brothers car :-)
Very good looking car Lou. Enjoyed the video. I am very familiar with the 1968 Plymouth line. New options for the Fury for 68 included front cornering lamps and auto temp air conditioning. The top of the line Sport Suburban Wagon included the simulated exterior woodgrain trim. Wagons could be equipped with dual air conditioning with auto temp which added almost $700.00 to the sticker price. A leather and cloth bench seat trim was optional on the top luxury series VIP.
Hi Larry Hawkins, Happy to reading you enjoy this video, Lou
Paint code QQ1 "Electric Blue", same color as my 440 powered 2dr. Mine's a coupe, not a Fast Top.
One of the most reliable, serviceable cars ever made. Have another '68 w/a 318. Amazing cars!
And they're not big money silly muscle cars. I'd highly recommend any '62-'72 ChryCo. for any youngester's first endeavor into the vintage iron world.
Hi UberLummox, Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this "Amazing" car :-) Lou
Very nice 😀
Glad to read you think this one is very nice :-)
SWEET RIDE!!
Glad to read you enjoy this "SWEET RIDE" :-)
I've always had a thing about big powerful cars since owning a black 2dr 70 LTD 429 dual exhaust years ago. Also owned a 71 Grand Prix 400. I could smoke the tires at 40 mph in my ford. I wish I had kept both cars.
Hi James, Good times with your fun cars :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Very cool car, very cool story!
Happy to read you enjoy this episode :-)
I recently found a 1968 Ply S.F. (last week). 383 commando. Same color Blue with white bucket seats, floor shift auto. They can not produce a title. It is in poor shape, but all there. Thoughts?
Hi Craig, Hmmm, the title is a bit concerning. Depends on budget to repair "poor share" but good news it's all there. I'd contact two people 1) your states Dept of Transportation and discuss title situation. 2) The Restorer and see what that person shares as an estimate to restore the car. If you can get the title, and you're budget works, then you're good to go. If not good on either situation then might be best to hold off. Just my opinion, Lou
Why does the front end look darker my;favourite is the 64 sport fury or the 70 my dad had this car in a wagon it was the car I learned t drive in it was a standard
Hi Jeff, Hmmm, not sure why it looks darker. Glad to read this one brings back memories of the one your Dad had :-) Lou
