I am basically a GM fan but have owned Fords and Mopar’s and can’t complain about any of them. I have always thought Mopar had the best starters in this time frame. I had. 1965 Valiant with 225 slant six and TF 727 and I don’t think dynamite could have destroyed either. Last time I saw it was in 1986. It had 244,000 miles on it, my Sister had it after me. It was not running and had not for almost a year. I put fresh gas in it, re gapped the plugs and cleaned the points and recapped them. The engine rolled over maybe 3 times and fired up. My Sister and Dad put new points and plugs and wires on it and it ran as good as it did in 1965. My 70 Dodge Super Bee with 383 and 4 speed manual on the floor was one of my most favorite cars ever. Kept it 9 years and bought a more family oriented car. My Wife cried when it left. Truth be told, something blew into my eye at the same time.
These beautiful cars really take me back. I was born in 1950 and think I grew up seeing some of the most beautiful and for the time most powerful muscle cars ever.
    Please keep the cars coming👍🇺🇸🤙😃

The monaco was very underrated..nothing like the sound of a 383 magnum..and they would roll down the highway leaving everyone else behind..it was lighter than it looked and handled well..too bad they couldn't sell more than they did..i would to have had one..but in 66 i was in the 6th grade..but i remember the monaco they were nice..a couple of friends were given the monaco as a first car passed down from the parents..than came the louder mufflers and the mag wheels..the american mag's looked the best..see you on the next one. This so much reminds me of my parents’ 1966 Dodge Coronet 440 w/318CI, 4 door. The Monaco here is such a prime example of MOPAR, of which I thought were always underrated across the the automotive industry. I never knew about the wicker/rattan trim in the interior of any car. I’m surprised this lasted as long as it has. And who needs a third safety rear light when you have these blaring taillights/brake lights? Thanks Lou for showing an old MOPAR. My favorite line of auto manufacturers.

What a great car. From 68 to 73 my dad bought Plymouths and one Chrysler. The 71 Chrysler had the 383 2 barrel . It was a great riding car and very solid. As a kid growing up I could tell at night what kind of car was infront of us by the tail lights. It's a bit harder today as so many cars have similar tail lamps . It wasn't the case back in the 60's and 70's. The Dodges were easy to spot .

Another nice gem from the Troost collection! I love that mauve paint, and those taillights (they were called "Delta" taillights) really stand out like a beacon, on or off!
That gorgeous girl in the catalog with all those bombs is Pam Austin. She was in all the Dodge TV commercials and magazine ads in 1966 and 1967, where she sometimes used other weapons, too. She fired a cannon in a commercial for the 1966 Charger, and posed with guns in some magazine ads. I would guess that all those were related to the Dodge Rebellion theme (I see the catalog text does say "EVERY REBELLION NEEDS A BOMB, and we put one under the hood of every '66 Polara"), and maybe they're also saying that Dodge cars are a blast! Between Pam, the props and the cars, this was definitely one ad campaign nobody could ignore (especially young male viewers)! So was the "Dodge Fever" theme in 1968 and 1969 with her successor Joanie Parker. She didn't pack any weapons, but got just as much attention with her minidress and matching go-go boots (and also a matching hat when promoting White Hat Specials). You can see these commercials for yourself right here on UA-cam.
Oh yes, if you want to find out the name of a car's color, there is a website you can go to called Auto Color Library, at autocolorlibrary.com.

I love this styling now. Not much of a fan when I was young probably when I seen them on the road they were about 10 years old and not in this condition. ANd usually plain wagons and 4 dr. Hardtops. Never seen one of these in rag top. He mentions the Ice cold A/C and I had a chance to by a 1966 Plymouth VIP 4 door with Fender skirts and the A/C was so damn cold the Vents had Tiny droplets all around them and almost frosted up. I remember being a cook putting in my pocket thermometer and it reading 38. I was super impressed and had a chance to grab it and passed it up. It was a little over $12K in 1989 with very low miles in deep Blue and just really nice shape no signs of wear anywhere. I usually prefer the Dodge to the Plymouths on most years. Thank you Lou.

Mr. Lou, I really, really like the big body style cars. This one is a neauty. Sounds nice, too. My mom had a 1971 Plymouth Fury, with the mod top, (paisly) and the mod interior. Brown over Brown. It had a 383 engine, but only a 2 barrel. The car would burn up the points so fast, I had to carry a case of extra points around in the trunk. When it ran right, it really ran great. For a big car, it was very economical on fuel.
