Awesome flying and review, Nick! 😃 To fly ductless, since you broke that frame... You could cut it and use only the central part (for protection of the components). But without it would be craziness. 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Really the only one that is doing much is the one down on the AIO. The one out at the battery connector might soften the voltage spike when connecting batteries a bit, but otherwise its not doing hardly anything. I suspect they have all sort of premade battery leds with capacitors and didn't want to make others, but found there was a benefit to the capacitor on the AIO
I like the part where he says, "The tree hit me". I'm pretty sure the tree didn't move an inch. It was there, minding it's own business, being all wooden and green, and outta no where some inconsiderate person plowed a flying piece of plastic into it's side.
I can't remember this one specifically, it be a good long while. Normally we wire the camera wiring harness to the 5v and ground pad on the flight controller.
Nick. I enjoy your videos. Great job! I think they are very informative. I pretty much enjoy the same type of flying style as you. More into fast freestyle (I fly about 40% slower than you - don’t have your level of skill). I currently fly a UR85HD analog quad (fat shark goggles, taranis controller) I am looking to convert to digital, and I’m looking for a quad with the following parameters: 1.) under 250 grams 2.) DJI FPV goggle and DJI FPV remote control compatible (DJI full size air module or Caddx module - on board DVR isn’t really necessary if I can get more performance). 3.) I wanted a more all-rounder quad with prop guards that I can fly indoors (stable mode) and outdoors (acro mode) - something similar to my URV85HD quad. 4.) I would like to get around a 3 to 4 minute flight time (semi-aggressive flying). 5.) Does not have to carry a go pro or action cam 6.) Bind and fly is preferred but I can build one if I have to 7.) I want to use the DJI FPV remote (radio) The BetaFPV Pavo25 (without an action cam) is probably the closest thing I have found to what I want, but I was wondering if you or anyone else in the FPV community could suggest something. Also could someone tell me if DJI goggles V2 are compatible with all current caddx modules and DJI air modules and DJI FPV remotes? Thanks to anyone who comments.
Hi Nick YEP me again. lol. Great video and review of the BetaFPV Pavo25. I can't decide if I like it or not. I can definitely hear those props, I was hoping that it would be more quite since it wasn't a true whoop but it was sill loud. I was hoping that after the prop guards were off it would quite down. But I wouldn't fly it like that. Thanks again for the video.
I won a frame kit from beta now i gotta save up to get a aio board i have some older blue betafpv 1404 the blue ones a ant light cam aa elrs 2.4 receiver and a tramp vtx just need a board lol so hopefully in the spring ill be able to build it up. I love how it looks and goes together
Hi Nick thank you fr the video. I saw your review on the fox whoop 25 too. All in all what is your preferred cinewhoop amongst these ones and the iflight?.
I have this and I don't have the battery strap cross under the pack. Instead, I loop one side and then go over and back. I think that's the way they intended because it fits right in between the 3d printed loops and flat to the carbon.
I love how you test these cinewhoops flying fast I have a flywoo cinerace20 which I use almost exclusively for freestyling playgrounds and tight trees and your video when you flew it fast was super helpful in my decision to buy this quad
Love the video. I am receiving my Pavo25 tomorrow. I also have the SMO 4K but am a bit confused as to where to solder it on the FC. I think this is what I understand: Red soldered to the 8V (+) Black soldered to GND next to 8V Yellow soldered to 1TX across the board from the red and black Blue soldered to ??? Any feedback would be much appreciated.
That does sound correct, but I have not had any luck getting the tx control to work, not only the smo but also naked gopros. I have always had to use the button.
Just thinking since the SMO connector provided looks identical to the LED plug, what about just routing the LED to the SMO ? And then use the LED to control the recording ?
very likely the motor rotation doesn't match what betaflight is expecting, or the number of the motors don't match betaflight expectations. Use the motors tab to test with props off.
If you're planning on testing the new BetaFPV pavo 30 pro frame I'd like to request something to check into. You showed that technically this one could be flown without the ducts, but I think the 30 pro would actually be a lot more practical to do exactly that. If you're testing it, would you mind trying that theory even if only briefly? Thank you!
It's not a Nick Burns review if he's not flying it Hell Bent for Leather (or whatever your favorite saying is for flying hard and fast). That one break is not bad for that hit that it took. I want to see him fly it without the prop guards. :D
Thank you. I would hope my counter parts would also be flying them faster. It would sure help the community get some additional crash information on these.
I don't specifically recall. Even if it is we have to separate the two halves to get to the vista usb port to activate it. We can bind at that point regardless if the bind button isn't accessible when fully assembled. one of the features is the limited about of disassembly needed to separate the two halves.
@@NickBurnsFPV thanks for reply. The reason I ask is I'm flying Cinelog 25 and Avata, I have to keep binding the goggles to either the Avata or the Vista. The CL25 vista is buried, was kinda hoping for a little access on the Pavo25 rather than take it apart out in the field.
Thank you. I do also miss the swings and playground. I am still exploring how I can use the new yard. We do have additional plans but they won't likely be implemented until spring. Time for a project break for us :)
@@NickBurnsFPV Thank you for the quick response. I knew that, found the solder pads for VBAT and ground but was not shure where to put the cable from the FC to the cam. And I did not see the cable in the video ...
The durability yes, but not the flight capabilities in more aggressive flight. I do think the pavo25 flies smoother in the slow flying format better than the cinelog.
I found a really co0ol way to enjoy these Cinewhoops if you don't give a crap about the "Cine" idea. I could care less about recording HD video. I have no purpose for it. Since this came with the Caddx Vista, and it's crystal clear FPV feed, you can see all of the scraggle and ghost branches clear as a bell. Even the tiniest. If you find yourself a park with lots of trees, you can actually do something in FPV that you've never been able to do before! And it's hella fun!!! 🤪 That's fly not just through the trees down by the trunk, but up in the top of the canopy. Yup, with a great tune and precision flying, you can fly right up in the heart of all the scraggle! 😳 Flying into the trees canopy avoiding all of those tiny ghost branches and weave through the scraggle back and forth through little about 10" x 10" x 4" tall gaps in the branches, like a labyrinth of endless fun. From entering one tree's canopy and finding a way out, right into another tree weaving through until you see a sliver of a gap to get out safe and sound. With enough trees, you can do it for the entire batteries life. It's a friggin' blast, and something I never dreamed being possible with analog quads. You couldn't do it with HDZero either. Just not enough clarity to see all that menagerie of scraggle. I was actually gonna buy the GepRC Cinelog25, but at about $360, the price was holding me back. About 7 months ago, a US dealer had the BetaFPV 95X V3 on a closeout for a mere $175, with free shipping! That's with the Caddx Vista installed! Yup, less than half the price of the GepRC, and less than analog quads!😮 I was searching UA-cam for reviews and found Chris Rosser's video on how to give it a Pro tune, and boy did he! 🤘 So, I bought one and gave it his tune, and damn if it doesn't fly fantastic!!! Such a deal ... Of course, long gone, and they haven't had another deal like this since. They did have the Pavo30 for $218 on closeout, but I didn't like it nearly as much, as it is very heavy. The BetaFPV 95X V3 is much lighter than this reviewed Pavo25, which I prefer. More power to weight ratio. I fly it with a 450mah 4s, for the ultimate in light 2.5" whoops. I also fly it very fast, and being lighter, with the same motors, it hauls ass damn good. I smacked dead on into a huge oak tree and figured I'd messed it up big time, but there was not a scratch. One of the reasons I bought the 95X V3 is because a whole replacement frame is only $14.99 retail! I've seen it on sale for $11.99. That was less than HALF the cost of the GepRC frame. Anyway, if you've got one of these Cinewhoops craft, and have a Vista in it, find yourself a park full of trees and have at it! It's EPIC! AND, it will show you what we all have been missing out on, when we only flew analog! It's very, very co0ol what crystal clear image quality can do for us!!! 😎🤘
So, there's somebody else who has no use for that performance-sucking brick that so many people put on their quads. 😁 For me, if it isn't part of what makes the quad fly or put real-time video in my face, it has no place on my drone.
@@wingsounds13 I can't count the number of people who have written that DJI digital FPV makes them better pilots, because of the incredible clarity it gives them. It's true! I couldn't even attempt flying up 20 - 30 feet in the tree's canopy without the great clarity to see every little ghost branch. There's a long dead, but very thin limb, in this same park, that when flying analog, I could never see, and at least a few times every visit, it would knock me outta the air and make me crash. With DJI digital, I've never hit it ever again! A naked Vista adds about 10g to a quad. For most powerful quads, that's nothing! For a whoop, that's something, but I've found that my 75mm whoop does just fine with that added weight. It's hella fun to fly! Mostly, because I can easily go places I couldn't even attempt to fly, with analog and all that snow and fuzZ. What can I say, but it certainly makes flying easier and more fun! Now, to clarify, I do no racing or flying in wide open spaces.

Is it just me or is that 850mah battery looking a little bit (alot a bit?!) swollen? Might be time to retire that guy.
Some of the 850s that are more rectangular aren't as flat as the elongated batteries. I tend to dispose of them when they get squishy.

looks awesome, for some reason i always wish, they would make each propguard seperate. it might impact the durability though :/
I think that places more impact on the arms or creates flight issues as each duct being separate might have more tendency to vibrate in flight.
