Let go of my dji fpv and and Avata. Watched this review and bought this in the V2 version as my first real fpv drone. Flies WAAAAYYYY better than what i was using. Fast and smooth flights. Thanks for your reviews!
Well well well ! just when we thought there was light at the end of the Canadian Weather Tunnel !!!; in all seriousness, for Flyers who still haven't ventured into this Genre of flying, another excellent review on our possible options to dip that toe in the fog whoops, I meant water !!!; well done Captain!🙂🙂🙂🙂
Mine just came in today from GetFPV. Surprisingly fast and agile. Already took some major high-speed hits. No damage whatsoever. Would sure like to know the top speed of this thing. I'm thinking 50mph+. Was hoping for a somewhat better camera. Will probably throw an HDZero on it if it continues to hold up to abuse.
Hey Steve, as usual, your reviews are outta this world. Which makes any dreamer like I, want to get one too. But albeit, I think I'll have to keep on *dreaming* 😋.
Thank you greatly for your comment. I used to look at drones long ago and think... one day I'll get one, and no I look at a hammock and think... gotta get one and tie it between two trees and take a nap. :-)
Love the video. I am receiving my Pavo25 tomorrow and am excited! I also have the SMO 4K but am a bit confused as to where to solder it on the FC. I think this is what I understand: Red soldered to the 8V (+) Black soldered to GND next to 8V Yellow soldered to 1TX across the board from the red and black Blue soldered to ??? Any feedback would be much appreciated.
I'm nowhere near my PAVO to check so can't assist with your question. I can say that when I have used the SMO 4K with any drone, if the drone had a cable coming off the flight controller, I just took the positive & negative feed to power the camera. If no feed, then I used a similar device that plugs into the balance cable of the battery and reduces the voltage to a low voltage acceptable by the SMO 4K and ran power off that.
Another great review Steve 👍👍. You keep doing us Canadian's proud with your informative and professional videos. This looks like a beautiful drone and looks like it may be a good first fpv for someone who has only flown camera. Seems very smooth. What do you think?
Steve is the best drone reviewer on UA-cam without question. I’m American, but appreciate your comment about making Canadians proud as I would feel the same way.
Thank you! FPV is an exhilarating hobby, but requires practice to train the brain for hand/eye coordination. This FPV quad is a good one for beginners.
I have a tinyhawk 3 (the rtf kit) I wonder if I could bind my goggles/controller to the PAVO. Different companies so I'm not sure, but that'd be a huge selling point
You have ANALOG goggles for your TINYHAWK 3. You'd have to find a PAVO with an ANALOG camera for your goggles to work. Your controller is more than likely designed to bind to a D8 and D16 receiver (read your instructions to confirm). I don't believe the PAVO is available with such a receiver.
Great test flight! Question: Between Pavo 25, Cinelog 25 and Protek 25, which would you recommend for a beginner fpv drone? Note: I plan to use a naked GoPro 7/8 and want to use it mainly for real estate indoor and outdoor shots and other commercial/personal projects and flights of 3-5 mins. Thanks in advance for your time and response!
If an FPV Drone has a built in beeper, you will see the option for it in the MODES menu of BETAFLIGHT CONFIGURATOR. You can then assign a switch to it.
you think that the 2inch cinewhoops vs the 2.5inch cinewhoops have much difference in how loud they are? For example the cinerace 20 noticeably louder then the pavo25?
Howdy! Long time viewer, first time commenter! Trying to decide between this and your review of the Speedybee Flex 25 HD. Expanding from the DJI FPV - I have the DJI goggles, so I'm assuming I'd need the Caddx HD Digital VTX (or the Flex25 HD if I got with the speedy bee). As far as receiver, I have none yet (other than what comes with DJI FPV which I know doesn't work with this. So I know I'll need a radio. I'd like to stay all digital (I see you're using the DJI radio here) - what are some other options for this one and/or the Speedybee Flex25 HD? I don't mind the PNP and get the DJI radio, but I don't necessarily need to stay with DJI radio. If I don't have a receiver yet, would you suggest investing in the DJI radio or go with ExpressLRS 2.4G or TBS and buy a radio for one of those. My brain hurts trying to figure out which receiver. I'll have to go back over all your other videos about receivers! Between this and the Speedybee: I like the lights and smaller frame of the Speedybee, but this PAVO25 has a bit better flight time. Looking to fly indoors (apartment buzzing or house) and sometimes outdoors. Probably won't put any camera on it, but maybe the thumb/instago2 or something small eventually. Mostly for flying for me and use other the DJI FPV or Mini 3 pro if I want to do any camera stuff. Maybe also to use this to practice some more manual maneuvers without the fear of crashing the DJI FPV (that fear really holds me back from pushing it!). Any thoughts would be appreciated!!
Either drone is fine. As for radio, well you have an uphill learning road ahead because one of the most difficult things about the FPV hobby is learning how use a radio (understanding it), then the binding aspect, then the setting up of the radio and drone in BETAFLIGHT CONFIGURATOR. Every human who got into the FPV world all started at level zero and figured all this stuff out, so you can as well. The simple solution is to order the DJI FPV CONTROLLER 2 (grey in color) and then buy any drone on the market that has the DJI O3 Air unit in it, and ensure it is PNP. This limits you to only drones with the DJI O3 system. If you wish ELRS, CROSSFIRE or other receivers, then you need a RADIOMASTER radio and must either buy the ELRS version or the 4-in-1 version. If you get the 4-in-1 version, then you would need to later buy the ELRS NANO module for the back of the radio or the CROSSFIRE NANO module. Good luck & don't give up on your journey of knowledge.
Thank you for the speedy reply! The support is much appreciated. I think I'm leaning towards the Speedybee right now - so looks like the Flex25 HD - the FRSKY O3 - looks like there is the PNP, FRSKY, and TBS - any/all three of those are O3 meaning works with the DJI Grey controller I have already (thanks DJI FPV), one less radio to have. But the FSKY/TBS is also compatible with other radios (RADIOMASTER ELRS?) as well as the DJI one? Thanks again!
🇮🇪 The weather today reminds me of here 😀… Would you recommend a strobe on the drones .. Firehouse Arc V or a Lumecube strobe .. I always put one on my drones on overcast days over here .. maybe a vid on strobes would be informative.. Love your vids .. ☘️😀

Hello, very nice Video, Thank You. I have the Pavo25 too, but it flys horrible. I downloaded the CLIs from BetaFPV Site an it seems theese are not right. Which PIDs do you use on this Drone ? Thank you very much 🙂

Steve how does this compare with the cinelog25? Also give you are using the DJI PNP do you ever see pixilation in your goggles. I’m new to FPV bit disheartened by the pixilation I am seeing at about 100m, and than with a 15cm antenna, the naco.txt file loaded and the naco_pwr file loaded on my goggles.
If you see pixelization that means you have your goggles set to show pixelization on the outermost edges of the screen and clear in the center. Are you here for the “Conspiracy everywhere I look” group? 🤣
@CAPTAINDRONE798 nah, was just checking some video's to make up my mind. But its better to spend some more than fall for misleading video's of guys like you
@@otszzz79hopefully as a person who sees a “conspiracy” everywhere he looks, you also have the “fake” data to back up such crazy thoughts. Let’s see, I’ve been doing this since 2016, have a massive amount of review videos and each one is 100% fake forcing people to buy everything good or junk. Yup, awesome data 😂
@CAPTAINDRONE798 whatever floats your boat buddy.
