That was a great representation of perfect sprint train by Lidl Trek. No one else really had a chance given the placement of their sprinter in the last 1k. What a beast Milan is.
Milan! I dig his style. Straight line power and none of that questionable nonsense you see from guys like Philipsen.
@@SWells679 You mean like deviating from your line and elbowing your competition? I cannot stand Philipsen, such a dirty rider.
@@Joshua-dx7zn Yeah. And also Groenewegen.
Yikes, Milan looks like he’ll tear the bike to pieces when he turns on the power.
.
Great assist from Gaviria
I mean, no way he’s going to be able to come out of Milan’s draft anyway. Consonni looked like he was good for another 50-100m and I think that’s close enough. So Gaviria needed to get the jump and hope Milan got boxed
@milanfillipi5656 That may have been Gaviria's best strategy, but he's just not fast enough anymore. Not sure how he'll get another contract
Ya fs it’s hard to compete with 1600 for 20 🫨🫨
My bad 1440 for 20 today
but whoever still pays Gaviria is brave.....
Brawo Stanisław!!! 🇵🇱 🤩
another classic gaviria leadout from 400m
Classic Gaviria 🤔
Just said same to my wife
I LOVE THAT PURPLE BEAR OF A MAN. What a beast. He's a Goliath in a sea of Davids.
True 🎉
Like Kittel was
Isolate on Stanislaw Aniolkowski (Cofidis) who came in second. He took the path of following Milan and was the lone survivor to not lose that wheel when Milan put on the afterburners. I watched how he navigated the final few hundred meters and he looked really savvy, even threatening to come around Milan at the end but just falling short. Maybe someone to watch?
100% true about Aniolkowski ❤❤
@@michalsadowski7695 His 5th place in Stage 18 might be even more impressive. Isolate on him and watch how smart he was picking his way through the final meters. He does it all solo, too.
Every time the commentators say “Ewan’s not there” we should all take a drink. HAMMERED for days........
👍 And says another Victory for those
Who want to work for their money
😜🔝
Yeah, I think sprinters like Ewan and Cavendish are past their prime and the new guard has taken over!
He's in this race?
@@oldtwinsna8347 Awesome 25 place
In this sprint🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brawo Stanisław Aniołkowski. Drugi na mecie. 😊
Lidl and Milan is too stronk
normal there are no longer any valid sprinters, we will see when Perdersen , Philipsen , koi , will be here .
Kaufland stronker
Textbook lead out how was that Trek Train able to regroup after getting separated twice. Amazing!
Gaviria launching Milan was impressive. Great assistance from Movistar to Lidl-Trek 👌🏻
Exactly! 🤭
Nothing better than getting a leadout from an actual sprinter😂
🤘🏻🏴
Great commentator !
What a beast you are Milan... incredibly powerful ....
Congratulations, Milan. He's on fire right now.
Is it just me or is Milan looking A LOT like the Cipollini of Aqua Sapone and Cannondale.
I was thinking of mario C. Also
More like Kittel
Congrats 👏🎉 Jonathan Milan for stage Win 🥳👏
Imagine what he could do if he got his head down!
Tremendous team effort from Lidl-Trek, a lead out crash course right there
But a HUGE error by getting caught out in the crosswinds!! Rookie mistake ESPECIALLY when you see INEOS on the front😂 They are the absolute best in the crosswinds!!
🤘🏻🏴
Great lead out
Milan reminds me of Cancellara. Big rider, very strong and when he gets going nothing can stop him.
That would be an insult since Milan doesn't use any motors.
@@oldtwinsna8347 BOOM💥!! MIC DROP🎤
🤘🏻🏴
Jayco ought to just let Luka Mezgec give the sprint his best shot until -Austin- Caleb gets his mojo back....
Gaviria lead out Milan, but this guy is so good that he doesn't have any other option than gamble from far
Aniołkowski getting closer and closer
Milan is a Machina
Good lead out made perfect by Gaviria.
Is Molano riding the tdf? Great sprinter. raw power
Now will anyone say hey Molano stop trying too hard give the other sprinters a chance? Of course not, so why was Pogacar criticized?
That is a lot of power to the Nth+!
A bit SUS, MAYBE???
🤘🏻🏴
Milan is going murder Cavendish in the tour. This kid is a monster.
Cav can get over climbs that Milan can't, in theory at least. Milan can't win the sprint if he's not there.
@@charliedillon1400 Neither one would be in contention over that kind of terrain in the Tour. They would be about equal and this year with a pointless final week for sprinters they'll both likely pack their bags up.
@@oldtwinsna8347 never count out Cav! He has incentive like never before this year. He's trying to get #35 so with that on the line and the fire, motivation and confidence Cav has, it's a definite possibility he gets that ONE win!!! Cav THRIVES when the haters doubt him. It's when he does his best. Always has been
🤘🏻🏴
50kmh through that 90 degree corner? Surely not!? 😱
Awesome!
Wow!
I really wish Gaviria would hold out longer. I know his last win what way out but he has to change it up.
This Giro reminds me of the Giros of 20 years ago. A ton of boring sprint stages.
What about the first one with Narvaez and Pogi sprint? And the Strade Bianche stage with the gravel sectors and the steep uphill arrival? And the crazy crono won by Pogacar? And yesterday solo arrival of two World champions Alaphilippe? Are you sure it's a boring Giro? I find it great and we're still missing the Alpi's stages
Not more boring than Tour de France.
I think it has been a great giro so far!
Hoping Groves and Molano can each sneak a win past Lidl after the efforts they and their teams have been making this past two weeks.
great job EC ¡¡¡
Milan is huge!
Ineos and Bahrain tried to drop Milan earlier. I wonder why that is
Clean!
Milan lookin like Grande Mario Cipollini in the sprint.
Gaviria sprinted to soon 😮
Nice video quality in 2024
I pray everytime that Milan doesnt ripp his bike into Little pieces when he sprints the Last 300m
Lead out guys face looked like his legs were on fire with 500m to go. My legs hurt watching it.
3:12 3:13 the lead from Lidl Trek just slows and stops pedalling, despite being in the middle of the peloton. Just from an educational point, is that not dangerous? Shouldn’t he have tried to exit onto one of the sides? Thanks
Yes. I'd add it was primarily dangerous for him, not only for following riders. That boy have to think of it.
These speeds are not human. I wonder how many of these guys are actually clean... Only this year there was an amateur race in Spain where 80 if not 90% of the contestants withdrew due to a rumour there were going to be doping tests at the finish line...
all foods when combined in the right way are doping and there are thousands of strange fruits and foods in the world that we don't know about. I think they use some kind of pufferfish for better performance. I'm not being sarcastic, I heard it on TV.
I've been researching the testing protocols and how these lads get away with doping and it's a combination of things. Basically it comes down to the fact that the teams, riders and Drs are better at NOT getting caught than WADA is at testing them. It's also a lot of new doping formulas I believe. There are so many ways to circumnavigate and beat the testing protocols. It's not that difficult really. You can micro dose EPO in the evening and not test positive after the following days stage. That's just one small way. I've done much research and it's actually quite interesting and educational. It's also fun to figure out HOW these lads are doping😂 But don't be fooled, the peloton is absolutely doping!! Independent study was done a few years ago that says as much as 90% are on "the program"
🤘🏻🏴
Rui Oliveira always working for no one, UAE just might wanna think about letting Rui go for the sprint himself and not kid around trying to get molano a win
Why does Gavira start his sprint always so early, he never makes it and always ends up 10th or thereabouts.
Stanislaw I hope can win in Italy a stage...
gaviria confirmed lidl trek? come on man. hes got one lead out dude left with 400m to go. box him in and wait for christs sake
But you need a team mate to box him in, otherwise your nose is in the wind
Trek was still in very good position. One more leadout dude with 400m, if the guy can lead him out for another 150-200m, Milan wins anyway
Milan has to go to the tour. It’s an absolute disgrace if pedersen goes over him
I knew right away when I saw INEOS on the front that they were going to bust the peloton wide open when the crosswinds hit. They are the absolute best in the biz with crosswinds. They'll do it more often than not!! I dont think any team is better at crosswinds. I had a good feeling the peloton would come back together but I really hoped Milan would burn too many matches to get the win. HUGE mistake by his team and himself! Nature break or not it was a HUGE error!! They absolutely knew the crosswinds were coming up soon and they SHOULD have known when they saw INEOS on the front that they were going to blow it apart. Rookie mistake. They basically ALL got caught out. Milan must have either been mad or panicked cos he was on the front of second echelon trying to join the pack HIMSELF!! I think a bit of both to be honest. Angry and panicked
I'm not a fan of Milan but I have no problem saying he did an incredible job today. Suffered the setback in crosswindsand burned a ton more matches than expected but came back and won that bunch sprint. Pretty amazing. I really wanted Merlier to win this stage and I really thought he had a great chance when I saw Milan and Lidl burning tons of matches trying to play catch-up. Gotta give it to Milan. Looking very strong!! Dammit tho
🤘🏻🏴
Milan owns Giro di l'Italia
textbook lead out
Kooij not there Milan having his days.
What happened to him ?
@@oumarbarry6771Abandoned due to sickness
Milan was beating him easily while he was in the race
@@bernardo9202 Kooij was only one in this race that beat Milan in fair sprint
@@BlackTone91 And got beaten twice while Milan got second on that day. The initial argument is wrong imo. Milan is not having his days while Olav is not here at all
Lidl Trek Train best in Businesses 👍👑
Good but not the best. Historically Quick Step has always had the best leadout train in the biz
🤘🏻🏴
@@kennykaniff Morkhøj gone to Astana
He loves Has beens! And Money!
@@tonilauge5786 I'm not just talking about Morkov I'm talking Quick Step historically for past 15 years. That's their claim to fame. Their leadout train. It always has been. Yes Morkov has gone to Astana with Cav and also Mark Remshaw (probably the best leadout man Cav has EVER had) is a sports director at Astana in order to get Cav the best chance at getting #35 at TDF this year
🤘🏻🏴
@@kennykaniff Csv is so much over the
Hill! Philipsen will beat him 10/10
A very good souldal quickstep train
Admitted! Don't help when Merlier
Don't getting it Again. Hopeless
To Position.
@@tonilauge5786 I don't disagree that Cav is over the hill and yes it appears that Jasper is the fastest this season BUT it's not all about speed. Knowledge and tactics are a HUGE part. Cav doesn't necessarily have to be faster than Jasper, Cav could get EVERYTHING right while Jasper may get boxed in or start his sprint too early or anything like that may happen which could get Cav #35. Speed isn't everything in a sprint. There's SOOOO much more involved and Cav is the ABSOLUTE MASTER of the sprints which is the difference between him and Jasper. NEVER count Cav out!! He may get that #35 at TDF in 6 weeks. Jasper may not even be on form when he gets to the TDF or maybe he gets an injury or is sick OR MAYBE Jasper isn't even the one to beat at TDF. We never know until it's "GO TIME". We'll have to wait and see
🤘🏻🏴
We've got a Milan-type guy in our weekly group rides. Huge guy... like 6'-4"... and older... like in his 50's at least... maybe early 60's... and you'd NEVER think this guy is going to blow the doors off the ride... but he does... every time. Crazy fast. And probably weighs at least 250# if not more.
😁
Textbook leadout
gaviria the worst sprinter ever. goes all out around 400 i think lol
These turns are horrible for a proper sprint, nobody can move up...
not really an issue when theres still 350-400 to go after the last turn. just gotta get into position sooner. tactically it makes the last few kilometers more exciting then "ah theyre just spread across the road"
I would have to agree. It was a very boring finish and leading into the finish that way was really the crux of it being so. I forget what stage on this Giro, but I thought the curvy lead in to a 90 degree turn into a longer straight sprint to the finish was far more interesting. The idea that you have to be more tactical is rubbish.
It’s only a problem when Milan can dump 1600 for 20 and no one can come out of the single file draft
It was not that bad. What are the supposed to do? Rebuild the city?
First! :D
Super Jonathan 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
